I was a bit worried when I ordered this pen that it would look cheap and plasticky due to it having a resin finish but, wow, I needn't have worried. It looks amazing and feels so premium in the hand. The best way I can describe the finish is that it feels like that luxurious matte laminate finish you often find on high-end packaging these days. It's quite weighty, but not too weighty and, despite its substantial girth, it's very comfortable to hold and use. The sliding action is ridiculously satisfying, especially the reassuring click you get when it closes. The clip, in keeping with the rest of the pen, is substantial yet elegant. It writes beautifully, no skipping or stalling,

This was my first Cross pen and I was extremely happy with the quality of the pen. It is very sturdy. I fount that I am able to use different refills which makes it 100% more useful for me as I can use ink refills that I enjoy more.The centre opening mechanism took some time to adjust too and it is not really ideal to open with one hand.The weight is hefty but it works well with my writing style. I compare my use with the Uni Jetstream 4 +1 but a lot thicker.
