Wonderful presidential rollerball pen. Picked it up on black friday sale for half msrp; 10/10.The pen itself is tasteful and understated; Black lacquer with gold highlights is simple and elegant.Comes with one black gel rollerball refill inside the pen (no extra refill) that I'd say is a Medium but can't say for surebecause the refill doesn't say the size.Writes very smoothly and lays down a nice solid black line with no skips whatsoever.Small note, the gel ink smells a bit funny, like toasted rubber or kerosene; I assume that that is due to how this particular gel is made, most likely from petroleum. If you don't like the smell, you can always buy a Cross rollerball ink refill that isn't gel. This pen of course only accepts Cross refills, though there may be third party sellers that make compatible refills.Multiple colors are avaiable for refills which is very nice!Pen itself has a very nice hefty, solid weight to it, and is very comfortable to grip and write with. The pen cap postsvery well and securely, this adds some extra weight to the pen but is not a problem.Unless you have very large hands, I would say this pen is long enough to be used unposted.I personally like using it posted because I like the extra bit of weight and the look of the pen posted better.Overall, a wonderful and luxuriouspen, writes fantastically, looks beautiful without being in any way extravagant. This is the pen that the President uses, with good reason!100% recommended, especially if you can get it on sale.

From the images I could not tell that the black handle has grooves, unlike other Cross pens I own. After some use, this is an excellent design and quite unique. The cap on this model has a grooved plastic insert inside which makes the capping and uncapping smooth and tight in fit. When writing, the cap stays on the back of the pen perfectly, unlike my original Cross Century. Also, the rim around the pen cap is robust and unlikely to get dings if dropped or put through its daily rigour. I would describe this pen as a mid size, the right size for daily writing and great for a lapel pocket. My Cross Townsend has such a heavy top that it pulls down a dress shirts lapel pocket and leaning over it can fall out (which is has, ugh).

People may think it's not worth spending so much money on a pen, but you are wrong! This pen is brilliant, the weight is neither too heavy or too light, it runs so smoothly, and doesn't cause smudges or build up of lots of ink like fountain pens. The colours work really well together and looks great to write with. However, I found with my pen, the lid was hard to get off, and having an expensive pen makes you so worried you'd lose it or scratch it, that you wouldn't treat it like normal pens. But a big upside is that you'd be surprised how many good comments you get about it, and although you hate it on other people, you feel so smug and proud and definitely worth getting!

This is my first expensive Pen. I opted to get the Chrome pen it it was much cheaper at $48 and chrome could be used for professional use or Casual. Pen was lighter then what I would of imagined. I read a review that pen top (not cap) was damaged and paint chipped off due to a lot of capping and uncapping pen. My Pen cap came with a Plastic sleeve Insert so when you cap the pen there is no metal to metal contact. Also the Black end of the cap is held on by a nice brace screw that you can see by looking under the cap. Very nice pen.

I bought two Cross pens and my husband bought four from Amazon. None was "sheer", I bought a medium point and then the heavy large point pen. My husband keeps great track of his pens but I lost my medium point to a cashier and did they luck out! I did not even know when I had lost it. What foolishness on my part. The thicker pen is good for leaving notes, paying bills etc. If you want a nice pen this is for you, it is not a Mont Blanc pen, my husband owns three of those and they make great presents to both sexes. Thank you Amazon.

I already have the fountain pen (see my happy review) and pencil, so I thought I would get the matching rollerball. You can spend far less on a rollerball (and, of course, very much more), but these Cross products look elegant - at least to me, which is what matters! - and are clearly really well made at a sensible price. What more could one want?Strongly recommended.

I ordered this pen almost a month ago. I am very satisfied overall. The pen is a bit shorter and thinner than the Townsend model so it makes the weight a bit lighter. The gel refills are the best I have written with. Very thick and wet much like a fountain pen. This is the pen model that President Trump uses. If you can afford one- get one!

This is a beautiful pen. However, it glides across fine stationary just as well. I use it in my law practice and when the client needs to sign a contract, there is nothing better than to hand them this pen and feel what a pen is supposed to feel like. Live a little. Learn that fine art of writing by hand again.

Good quality pen. Feels heavy in a good weigh and balanced in my hand when writing or holding, especially with the cap on the back end. The ink in cross pens in general flows smoothly and evenly, and this pen is no exception. If you're looking for a good starter pen, this should suffice.

Not made in the US any more. Decent quality. I would be unhappy with purchase if I bought this at full retail price of around $120 but the Amazon price was very compelling and really what this pen should sell for. Gift for wife - she loves it which is all that matters.

Pen was great. But delivery was delayed SEVERAL times. It was such a long wait that I bought another pen to use as a substitute until the one I wanted arrived... As I said the pen works great, I have already bought an ink refill. I carry it on me all the time!!!

One of my favorite pens. Just be careful who you hand it to. This pen works great and looks fantastic. It almost fills weighted. It has a great weight and looks good when you are using it. You also can buy different colors and different types of refills for it.

Perfection.Always a fan of Cross rollerball. Perfect cartridge in the perfect lacquer caseI like this far more than Montblanc, or any other of my fine pens. Only competition is my Cross capless. So, I have both, and there are no compromises.A joy!

4 Stars only because of the refills, too confusing on what refills fit this pen? Is there a list on what refills will fit this pen? I bought 2 that are too short already one for $9 and the other $6 plus tax that's $20 I have to throw away!!!

I bought this as a useful and understated accessory to a business suit. It works perfectly. It writes well, doesn’t smear at all (lefty speaking), and looks elegant but not pretentious when pulled from a suit jacket. Very glad I got it.
