Quite a fun expansion to Cosmic Encounter. The additions to the rewards deck give some interesting twists on what existed before in the one provided by Cosmic Incursion (for example, new varieties of negotiates that may make you stronger, or weaker in the negotiation). Our groups favorite so far are the Intimidate cards, which can be played by players outside of regular combat and used as leverage to try and get invited to offense or defense. While we have not played with all of the aliens yet, the ones we have seen are quite clever. This expansion doesn't provide a fleshed out "new" gameplay mechanic outside of the rewards deck (ie. technology or space stations),

You should buy it early on and here's why:1) Having access to more alien races means you get less repeats. For us this boosts the replay value of the game which I think is an important measure of a games value for both serious table toppers and casual fans alike.2) If you're anything like us and you wait till you have played through all of the aliens in the base game before getting a new expansion you will just want to play the new races anyway so why not just increase the size of your available aliens early on!3) Additionally: fast shipping, good packaging, and a trusted seller.

A new set of counters allows you to increase the size of the game to six players and a new set of cards are introduced adding a new element which we all enjoyed. Plus 20 new aliens - the more the better!

I've got this expansion, the origional game and the other two expansions and love playing it. The best thing about this expansion are the 20 new aliens. There's some good one's.

Black components for an additional player, hazard cards to spice up the game and of course new races with sublimely ridiculous powers. What's not to love? Nothing. :-)
