This outdoorsy blouse arrived just in time for me to take on a month-long wild-camping trip around the northern Scottish Highlands where I would be living off-grid so needed something easily washed and dried and which would also be midge-resistant.The blouse is exactly what I hoped it would be and is the style, fabric, design and even colour I wear normally for my outdoorsy lifestyle.As a size 10-12 with a 34" chest, the medium size is a perfect fit and the sleeves are a good length too even for my longer than average arms. I'd say the blouse is designed for the taller, slimmer woman with a lanky build and long arms, ie me!It measures 50cm across the chest making it the equivalent of a large UK 10 or smaller UK size 12.The nylon fabric is easy to wash and dry - I had to hand wash it in a stream or public toilet sink then leave it to dry naturally hung in a tree in the sun and a light breeze. Within about 2 hours it was ready to wear again. More conventionally it can also be hand or machine-washed at 30°C and tumble-dried on a low setting. I've only washed and dried it once this way so far but was pleased with the results and, like my tree-drying, it was ready to wear with minimal creases and didn't need ironing although I did observe that it lacks hanging loops which is unusual for outdoor clothing.It is suitable for all weather and is particularly suited to warm/hot, sunny conditions and high humidity. The nylon fabric wicks away moisture and, with its mesh panel between the rear shoulders, it has good ventilation for use in hot weather. I also noted how dense the fabric is which guards against biting insects and even resisted the Scottish midges on my visit. It offers very good 50UPF sun protection (something I look for as a white-skinned redhead) and it has good wind resistance as tested on the Scottish west coast where it's hard to escape the wind and breezes.Design is excellent - again, well thought through for outdoor wear. The cuffs are adjustable with two buttons to gain a comfortable fit and there's a further button on the wrist to help keep insects out. A velcro-fastening chest pocket is visible but a further zipped security pocket is less noticeable behind this and there's a further flap-covered security pocket on the right hem.Needless to say for Columbia clothing, stitching and finishing is of the highest standard with not a stitch out of place. This blouse is very clearly well designed to provide years of wear without tear, in testing outdoor conditions, sun and heat and it is definitely a blouse I would recommend for outdoor holidays, camping, treks, adventures and outdoor life, especially those which could involve getting wet.

This product was labelled size M and I got it to review knowing it would either fit my wife a 10/12 or my daughter a 6/8. It turned out to fit my daughter and she really likes it. It is a well tailored fit and has a good selection of pockets and venting, making it ideal for camping, hiking and the like. The shirt has good lines and a definite feminine aspect to it, the colour is understated and it looks like it will help to keep you cool if you wear it.All in all I am pretty pleased because my daughter really likes it and has been wearing it constantly since it arrived. There is not really more of a better recommendation that I can make.Just a warning to check out the sizing when you order.

This is a review of the Columbia Women's 1841824 Shirt Silver Ridge Shirt in beige, medium size as other sizes and colours are available. It was delivered in a polythene bag with tags on. It is made of 100 percent nylon and is medium weight and designed to dry out quickly.It has a large breast pocket with a velcro closure and a neat vented area at the back to help you keep cool if carrying a rucksack. It looks good if a little functional and fits well although probably errs towards the small size so if in doubt go for the next size up. The quality is good and the stitching is secure and straight.This is a comfortable shirt that offers good value for money when out and about.

Great shirt for hiking and outdoor pursuits in hot weather. It's got ventilation on the back and it dries quickly after washing. It doesn't crease and would be perfect for camping. The fabric feels light and dry and very comfortable.4 stars because the beige colour is flat and the size is on the small side. It's one of those annoying fits where you have to try several sizes in order to see what fits and if you're lucky you'll find one that fits nicely across the shoulders, chest and waist.I think it's made for Mediums with a small-medium chest.

Having read the previous reviews that this came up small I ordered a size XL. I am a size 12 and it fits perfectly. Haven't worn it for a walk yet but feels nice on, quality fabric and details. Blue colour as in the photo.
