This drawing toy is great fun for any child who enjoys drawing, designing pictures and practicing their letters and numbers. It measures 31.2cm in height x 30.5cm in width x 10.2cm in depth. It is designed in robust red plastic with yellow, orange and white accents. This pad appears to be well made with no rough edges or sharp areas. This drawing board comes with a number of accessories...magnetic drawing pen, four magnetic picture stamps (yellow rabbit, orange dog, white cat and orange duck). Each of these items have their own slot which holds them in place when not in use. On the back of this drawing board is an integrated cushion designed in bright colours and patterns. This toy has a good drawing surface which works really well.I have purchased these type of magnetic drawing boards before and when you move over the surface with the supplied pen, many areas do not show up. That is not the case with this board...all areas show where you have used the pen or stamps. When you have finished drawing, you simply pull down the yellow slider and your drawing magically disappearsThis drawing board can be used for doodling when travelling, drawing pictures in bed, at home or away. A great toy for preventing boredom. It's perfect for a child aged three or over.My granddaughter (three years of age) has thoroughly enjoyed herself playing with this drawing toy when she comes to stay. She loves using the animal shaped stamps and also trying to draw simple shapes that I draw on the pad for her to copy.I'm happy to recommend this drawing toy as a gift for a young child.

My toddler has totally fallen in love with this toy and I think it's brilliant too. It's just like the Magnoodle I used to have as a kid (aka Ipad for the eighties). The packaging is a bit annoying and if you're buying this for Christmas bare in mind you will spend quite a few minutes picking off tape and you need scissors to cut it open but once you've got the packaging off, it's play straight away - no batteries or instructions required. When I opened it there was already movement and drawing on the board but a quick swipe of the yellow button and it was clean again. My daughter is learning to mark make and do letters so this is the perfect tool for practising with. The 'pen'is attached with strong and has a little storage compartment which is great but the 4 little magnetic shapes are loose and will probably get lost eventually. They create the shape that they are so rabbit shape etc. They do fit nicely into their own little storage space which is good for shape matching too but the nobbly bits to remove them are a bit difficult and they are hard to get out initially. It has a carry handle and the soft cushion for putting on your lap is such a lovely touch. As you can see from the picture this has made potty time a whole lot more fun! I really look forward to taking this toy out in the car and for trips to restaurants etc. It's so nice to see children enjoying a toy that's not a gadget and actually requires some imagination.

My toddler loves this and even my older kids have been interested in it too. It’s a typical magnetic wipe clean drawing toy like we had ourselves in childhood but it is very well made and robust. We do already have a flimsier cheaper version but this is larger, sturdier and will last much better I’m sure.It comes with the pen, attached by string to prevent losing or dropping, and also 4 shapes magnetic stampers which my toddler enjoys a lot. They are very easy to use and have the shapes of duck cat dog and rabbit. These snap in and out of spaces at the top, but be careful as these can fall out at times when the toy is being carried with the handle in a suitcase type position. The back of the toy has a cushion so it can be used comfortably on the lap which makes it good for travel in the car,or sitting and relaxing in bed or sofa if child is unwell. It’s not easy to do highly detailed pictures on it - as Is always the way with these magnet boards, but it’s great for toddlers Mark making or for practising letters, simple words etc. Definitely a useful toy to have!

This is made in China for a manufacturer in Canada and distributed by Jonathan's Toys Ltd with a British postcode. This toy, approximately 12 in.², including the handle on the top, comes in the form of a lap tray. There are no beads in the lap tray--just hollow fibre wadding. So it is possible for junior to use this in the car. It's similar to Etch-a-Sketch. You get an easy-to-grasp pencil to write with and for animal stamps. The screen measures approximately 9 x 6.5". It's a white screen with a light honeycombed grid over it. The writing effect isn't as bold as the graphite on grey effect of the Etch-a-Sketch. I suppose this mimics screen tablet you can write on. You can't attain fine detail, but it works well for scribbling.Once you have tired of your scribble, you erase it with a knob on the side. The animal stamps don't come out particularly strongly, but it is a useful way for junior to practice her hand-eye coordination and hone her fine motor skills. My three-year-old niece likes it.

When you start unpacking this and see how wavy and uneven the screen is - don't panic - there's a piece of hexagonal paper taped over the actual screen to protect it. I think this is probably more suited for younger children as the screen is a little on the small side. I think the attached cushion underneath is good idea (it's not stuffed with beads, it feels very soft and fabricky) so smaller children can hold it comfortably on their lap.It comes with 4 magnet animal "stamps" - rabbit, dog, cat and duck - these give a clear image and kind of clip in at the top of the screen when not in use, it also comes with a magnet pen. At the current price of 19.99 this does seem on the expensive side for a magnetic sketch board. But I think it's well made and should certainly encourage an interest in drawing and creative play.

My son has really surprised me with just how much he has loved playing with this rewritable drawing pad. It’s a similar idea to the etch-a-sketch of the 70’s and 80’s, for those of use old enough to have been there. But instead of having two dials to turn to create straight lines, this drawing pad has a magnetic pencil and 4 magnetic animal shapes which attract the iron filings up to the surface, so you can create pictures as many times as you like and then just ‘sweep’ them away again with the reset slider on the right. It also has a soft cushion pad on the back, so it’s comfortable to use in the car or plane as well as on your lap at home. The colours are good for both boys and girls and it’s made in shades of red, orange and yellow greens, which makes a nice change from bright, garish primary colours.4 stars

I'll be honest my eldest has a similar travel sized product for far less from a well known supermarket, however this is much superior on all parts, it is made of much more robust plastic and the spaces to clip the stamps and pen into are much more ergonomic in design, and they hold much better. The padding is an excellent idea, it's not essential but it makes it much easier and comfortable for a little one to concentrate on their fine motor skills instead of balancing the lapboard. I know my eldest said this is much better than her other one but older children may want more drawing space height you can get for less with other products. However the beenfit to this is you know you're going to get BPA free plastic which is a bonus with children.

This is a very nice magnetic drawing board, with an unusual inbuilt lap cushion section in the back. On arrival, this looks as though it might have a warped screen, but fear not, there's a patterned piece of paper over the top of the actual screen. The set is chunky and nicely integrated to stay together - the 'pen' is attached by a string and the animal face stamps dock onto the board. The screen is a smaller than some others I've encountered and gives a bit less scope for drawing, although for a knee-top rather than tabletop toy the size seems just about right. The one drawback is the price point. This is by some way the most expensive toy of its type I've encountered,a despite the quality of the build doesn't really justify the RRP.

I gave this to our visiting four year old and he dived on it straightaway. The cushioned back is perfect for little laps and he was able to sit on the sofa with it and be creative. Having tried out the stamps as they were, he then began drawing extras onto them! He also practiced writing his name and that was in the first 15 minutes. It's great that it wipes clean with the swipe of a lever - which he found immensely satisfying too. The drawing 'pen' is attached to the toy by a cord, making it secure. All in all a colourful, well made, robust toy that allows for plenty of versatile creativity. Games like noughts and crosses can be played on it too and hangman.Definitely worthy of a place in the toybox.

This is much like an etch-a-sketch, or now mega-sketch - a magnetic drawing board. However, this board has a much more tactile pen and shapes, aimed at younger children. The pen and shapes are very easy to hold, even for a very young toddler. The design of the board is superb. It is chunky and perfect for a first drawing or writing experience. And since you just need to swipe the board to clean away the doodles, it is perfect for younger children to explore words and art.At the time of review this was priced at £19.99, which is an excellent price for such a solid, well designed doodle-pad.

This baby sketch-pad is a really good size. It comes with a padded bottom, a bit like a lap tray! The pen is quite difficult to pull out, so I have to help my little one with that (17 months old). I didn’t realise it had the four animal shapes at the top (rabbit, cat, dog, and duck) so this was an added bonus and my little one loves putting them on the pad to make shapes. My son does struggle to pull the eraser up/down, so I do have to help him with that too. Overall this is a really good product, great for learning, mess-free and keeps your little one occupied for hours.

An updated version of the 80's classic Magnadoodle, this does the job but the price point may find you looking for cheaper alternatives.Reasonably well made and the padded knee rest on the under side is not something you'll find on others. It comes with a carry handle built in, the 'pen' is attached by string so won't go missing. However, the four stamps are not attached and it'll only be a matter of time before they go AWOL.Overall, it's a decent toy but I do think you can get something just as good for a lower price.

My 18-month old is just starting to use this. It's a great toy for both stimulating creativity and practising fine motor skills, as the drawing board comes with a number of differently shaped accessories. As well as a magnetic drawing pen, there are four magnetic stamps shaped like different animals - rabbit, dog, cat and duck.Drawings and stamps show up clearly on the board, and the board has a cushion on the back, allowing it to rest on the floor or your lap. Very nice and robustly made toy.

12.11.2018

This scribble pad is a little more expensive than the average and I am not sure whether it is worth paying more. It is beautifully-made, with the original feature of a padded back, for cushioning on the lap. I personally don't think it's necessary to cushion the back - normal pads are perfectly adequate. Having said that, this pad works well and my three year old son enjoys using it.

22.11.2018

This schetching pad has been really well though out. From the cushioned back to rest on little legs to the lovely animal stamps at the top. The colours of the product are pretty and muted - which is great if you are like me and hate the general glare of most toys. I also like that the pen is attached by string to the frame so it won't be lost easily. Hours of funs for little hands.
