I now seem to have bought every make and model of this type of swimming glove on the market: (1) Speedo with velcro wrist cuff; (2) Speedo without wrist-cuff; (3) Aquasphere with wrist cuff and these un-branded ones. I swim quite seriously (100 lengths about 4 times a week taking me about 50 minutes per session). This type of product doesn't greatly increase your speed, but definitely gives you a serious upper body workout into the bargain ! I have counted that without the gloves it takes me one less stroke to complete a length than with them, but after the first few times you use them you really feel it - thereafter you begin to build up muscle tone to compensate. The problem with the velcro-wrist type is that the velcro has a habit of wearing loose (and no, I haven't over-tightened it). This can become a bit irritating. By contrast those without the wrist cuff can wear loose over time (buy a slightly smaller size to allow for stretch over time). My winner is the Speedo with velcro wrist cuff: the cuff hasn't worn out after a couple of weeks use. Moreover the more solid rubber 'hand sole' gives greater resistance than other brands. Second on the list would be these unbranded ones, which seem to have a stronger velcro strapping. Third the aquasphere model and finally the speedo without the wrist band. In fact if I'd bought a size smaller of the Speedo without the wrist band these might have been my favourite, but lost out for not providing much resistance......So there is a full review of all of them....!

I have recently bought a few things to use in the pool (garmin 910xt, finis tempo trainer, waterproof bag for my mp3 player etc) and of all that I have bought I am the most happy with these gloves. I have only used them a few times so I cannot give any feedback as to the longevity of the product. If you train to have a good workout ie. swim to build muscle then these are an absolutely must. They make you use the shoulders more. What I like about them the most is how easy it is to swim without them after using them. The only way I could describe it is as if you had been doing a bench press with quite a heavy weight and then you took the weights off and just used the barbell with some girlie weights attached.Gloves - Full fat swim, No gloves - Diet swim. I think from now on I will start my training sessions wearing my beach swimming trunks and these gloves then take them off and use my jammers and bare hands for the last 50 lengths.I couldn't recommend these enough!!Don't forget to rinse them afterwards!!

Currently in the pool for some rehab. Love these gloves as they definitely work to tone the arms. Massive difference when you take them off. I took a punt and bought the small because I thought I had small hands. They fit my hands, with force but the wrist is real small on these. My wrist is about 6" in circumference. The gloves tie with the velcro but they're hard to get on and off. Buying again, I would go medium. For the price, I can't fault them and I'd definitely recommend. Quality build and I expect them to last as long as I keep rinsing the chlorine out of them after I use them. They speed up my swimming stroke too which is awesome.

I like these gloves. If used properly you can feel the additional pull on your arms to strengthen technique and endurance.Very good especially if you have weak leg, so as safety it helps to stay afloat of when you get leg cramp. It gives you time to stay above water until you can get to safetyI use them for ocean, snorking, fresh water and always if my four half year daughter is with me.It keeps your hands warmer which is a great importance. As I can use my fingers to unclio D rings, steel wire lock hoops or carry out emergency life saving work in water.I have put them through all the above test in last month.very happy! ♥️

I read all the reviews of all of the gloves - these keep me afloat in the deep end of the aqua class so are great as there is no need for a belt, which tends to encumber movement. My previous gloves were worn out - these are better in that you have finger holes - the previous gloves were completely webbed and closed and I strained my shoulder, so this feels safer. I was a bit confused about size - I have smallish hands and these came up quite snug. If I were re-ordering, I'd probably get medium. However, I ordered another make (Head) in medium and had to send them back for small ones… These do come up snug, though.

Bought this pair of gloves to experiment with finned hands when swimming and increase resistance against the water for a more challenging swimming exercise. Fitted my hands as expected and never slipped off; the velcro reinforces the gloves' ability to stay on my hands. Basically I don't have to worry about the gloves falling off at all. I expected the velcro to weaken over time but the velcro has persisted and the gloves still remain comfortably tight on my hands (though this may differ as everyone's hands are not the same). My only concern is that people might find it weird that I'm wearing gloves in a pool.

I bought these four months ago and have used them a lot, not quite daily but probaby about 80 times in that period. comfy and good fit (bought small) and I rinse and spin after use, and dry laid on a towel but they are now coming apart at the seam and might get only a few more weeks from them. I do swim good distances and feel sure that any product would react the same to exposure to chlorine and am about to buy another pair. I think i would like to find a neoprene foot/fin in similar design, lighter than normal swim fins and perhaps also to be used as a beach/swim shoe/fin.

The gloves are great for swimming training as they create drag to help build strength in the pull-through of the stroke. It does add significant speed. I do a lot of sea swimming and often swimming against the tide can be extremely difficult these gloves at least provide some benefit to overcoming that difficulty. The only issue I have with the gloves is that the velcro strap lost a lot of its adhesive ability and it comes loose. This is a real problem as the gloves start coming loose from the hands and it's a constant annoyance repositioning them.

I bought these to help build muscle whilst doing my summer swimming training. I get lots of other swimmers asking about these and I love them. I used these all summer and found they really helped me in my goal of increasing my stamina. At first they are really hard to swim any distance as they increase your stroke effectiveness but at the same time deplete your muscle energy. Highly recommend.

I have purchased this item a number of times over the years. I am a regular 3 or 4 times a week swimmer and always wear the gloves. They are excellent quality and roughly last around 2 years in constant use which I feel is great value for money. I have noticed improvements to palm materials in this latest pair i've bought which i feel will possibly make them even better quality than before.

I bought this item as a support for my arthritic hands whilst swimming and doing aquacise rather than to increase performance. The wrist fastening made the gloves easy to put on as long as my hands were dry. If my hands were wet first it was more painful to put them on. They did help to some extent but were restrictive for some aquacise activities.

These gloves are great for training as they offer good muscle resistance, hence they help to devlop strong swimming muscles. The only drawback is mine were slightly too small, and after a year of using them they have started to split, possibly as a result of being too tight. I ordered the large size, but perhaps should have ordered the X-L size.

This may sound odd but the best thing is they keep the random hairs in the pool from wrapping around your fingers. I'm a bit squeamish! Also for a 50+ woman who swims 150 lengths a week I have good muscles in my upper arms as a results of using the gloves. These were to replace my old set which lasted about 4 years being used 3 times per week.

Just bought a second pair for my wife. She goes the pool and swims a mile everyday. The first pair lasted 6 months before they bit the dust (frayed too much). She is very pleased with them. Took some stick and she loves the extra workout on the arms. Mental if you ask me :) Get them you will be pleased.
