I was very weary about choosing this PC as Acer have been notoriously cheap in the past. I have tested several of their machines and they never failed to score the lowest marks. Thankfully, they have really stepped up their game in recent years, and while the keyboard and mouse may be a little flimsy, as well as the CD drive cover, the build quality of the rest of it wins my approval.BEWARE: There is a LOT of bloatware on this computer. Since I am new to Windows 8 it took me a while to find Control Panel and start deleting the guff. It even has one of those annoying registry checkers that pops up as soon as you start it up and scans your hard drive for phantom errors. Don't believe this nonsense. As soon as it was out of the box and hooked to my monitor it had apparently found errors. Sure, it's going to have errors right out of the factory, yeah? Goodbye! Not sure if I should believe all of the "threats" found by the built-in McAfee scanner either.Windows 8 is not very user-friendly, in my opinion. Microsoft obviously want to move forward, but I like knowing that things are where they should be and Windows 8 just don't offer it. Microsoft Office is not included as part of this deal either - you have to buy it separately. Just find OpenOffice and install that - save some money. I also have absolutely no idea is Windows Media Player is on here either. I just could not find it as Windows 8 does not give you a menu.Combine this PC with a better keyboard/mouse combo, scrape the bloatware from it, and you've got yourself a great computer that can handle HD video, fits snugly onto your desk or cabinet, and is good for PC gaming. Personally, I want to keep this one offline just to make sure no pop-ups spoil my mood (and there will be a lot of them when you first turn it on). But you seriously need to make an effort to get the guff off before you personalize it for yourself.
