I researched extensively before settling on this tracker. I've just moved to the country and my indoor cat is going to experience the outside world for the first time so I wanted to make sure I could find him if he got lost. YES there is a subscription fee to pay in order to activate the device but that worked out at £65 for 2 years + £1.99 per month out of my bank account. Well worth it for peace of mind AND all the trackers I researched (except radio transmitter ones) required an ongoing fee to access the services. What I like about this is that it's not obtrusive. It fits easily on the collar and can be popped out of it's casing to be charged up quickly. You get alerts when the battery runs low via the app (or email)so you know when it's time to charge it. So far it's lasted on my cat for 3-4 days between charges but I've just discovered the 'Sleep' mode for night time use and I think this helps save the battery more PLUS if you put it in smart mode (not LIVE) it will help conserve battery life.Cat dosen't seem bothered about it and has got on with everyday activities with no fuss. He goes on his first outdoor adventure this week and I feel confident that with this tracker I will have peace of mind that should he get lost I'll be able to find him and bring him home.I've only given 4 stars as not tested it on the cat outside (although I have walked it around in my hand outside and it kept a GPS signal - in the middle of a village in the countryside) but I would def recommend this to people looking for a similar device.

So Bigzee the little scamp has started staying away, after the third 24 hours stop out we had to do something, we had looked at other GPS devices POD etc and the reviews were mixed to say the least. So we bought this thing, that was in Feb 2018 and its now May and right now Bigzee is 215M away, his battery life is 48% and he has been in the same patch of gardens for over two hours, wait he's on the move 245 M away now and showing no signs of coming home. No matter, before his battery dies( the biggest drawback) we will get in the car, track him down using the compass pointer and whistle him out and bring him home, The device is no problem for him as he is a Maine Coon and massive and it slips into its silicon pouch with ease so we don't even take off his collar.Looking at his history we know where he spends most of his time so we can always check those places if the battery dies. He has lost the whole collar three times, each time we can track the collar and then make it ring when we are close, found inside a bush once.Yes it costs a chunk of money a month but when i think what we spend on cat food a month then its not that bad,In short we love it, not the battery life, that sucks,( we have ordered a second device and a second subscription so we can swop it out whilst the battery charges. Yes we are obsessed by the stupid cat but so what. mind you 30 days till delivery means either they are very popular or they have gone bust. N/A on Amazon at time of posting

I am sceptical of electronic devices that claim to do what others can’t. Our previous experiences of pet tracking devices was incredibly disappointing but after our cat disappeared for 4 days and the awful worrying that accompanied it, we bit the bullet and bought the Weenect. We have been very pleasantly surprised. It is accurate to within a few meters and the occasional flash from the device means that she can also be spotted in the dark. When we call her in at night the distance tracker tells us whether she’s moving towards us and from where, again doing away with the not-knowing frustration.I have on a few occasions had to contact Weenect customer service, they are very responsive and tend to be helpful.I now cannot imagine being without it. It’s a very small price to pay for the peace of mind it has given us.

We have previously used Pod trackers, but having experienced problems with their Pod3, we thought it was time to give something else a go. And so far, so good. The device fired up first time, seems to give accurate location info, keeps a log of location every 5 minutes by default, and if the cat loses it in some undergrowth you can get the device to emit a 'ring tone' to help you find it again. All in all, a well made bit of kit that does exactly what it needs to.

Bought this for our elderly cat who would disappear and cause us real concern. It was wonderful that we could then always know where he was.
