Let's face it, the market is full of these things. Which one to choose ... ?Market leaders Samsonite and Delsey certainly offer a good range of products but their prices were way higher than I was prepared to pay.I hadn't heard of Travelite before but other reviews were good, and this one was the right size for Easyjet with whom I was due to fly. Their current maximum size for cabin baggage was 56 x 45 x 25 cm, and this case was just within that gauge. I decided to take a punt at about £30.00 Stirling. When it arrived, I was delighted with the appearance and quality, and the specification which reads as follows :* Outer dimensions - 53 x 38 x 20 cm* Construction: durable woven polymer material over stiff inner frame.* Telescopic handle.* Three further handles - top (soft),side (soft) and bottom (incorporated into foot).* Attachment strap.* 4 small feet opposite the side handle.* 2 wheels, plus foot to allow case to stand unsupported.* Slide-out luggage-label device.* Tough protective plastic trim on all 8 corners.* Zipped lined main compartment with hold-down straps and zipped false floor.* Small zipped inner pocket (good for meds).* Small zipped outer pocket with organizer (good for tickets etc).* Large zipped outer pocket (good for empty laundry bags).* Zipped mesh pocket to lid inner (good for notebook).* Two stuff-pockets to lid inner (good for emergency sustenance). On the day on my flight, I gave my case a baptism of fire - a 1.5 km walk on tarmac pavement to my local railway station. I needn't have been concerned. The little wheels didn't wear away and didn't fall off.I had made the right choice. This case was a real treat to travel with in every respect and had cost me a fraction of the price asked by those market leaders. To summarise, this case is well conceived and well made, and a delight to own. Well done Travelite! Two years later: The case has now done several trips and several wheeled kilometers, and it holding out well. I can't praise the small external organiser compartment enough. I find it useful for tickets/boarding passes, mobile phone, passport, travel notes, biro and house keys. So far, only one breakage - the inner lining's zip puller came adrift and I couldn't reattach it. No big deal - it's not generally necessary to access the space under the inner lining. The puller was simply replaced with a short length of nylon string. All other zip pullers are far more robust.I'm going to oil the wheel bearings before the case's next outing. One sounds a bit dry.Something I didn't mention originally - the handle feels a little flimsy when fully extended. I don't think it would take a lot of punishment but it's probably about average for wheeled cabin bags of this type - and hasn't broken yet. I've played with a few others, in shops, and found them all to be much of a muchness - probably better on the premium brands, but at a premium price.Aug 2019: Still looking good and going strong.

Instead of acknowledging this piece of luggage as a roller suitcase or wheeled trolly it should be emphasised how it is sized to be accepted as hand baggage to suit aircraft cabin restrictions. The ‘Travelite Roller Case’ attempts a 5-star solution for short trips.Within the overall external dimensions of 20½ x 14½ x 8 inches deep the main compartment is 19 x 13 x 7½ inches though this is increased by the lid with 2 external zipped pockets 5½ x 10½ and 10 x 12½ inches. Internally there is a somewhat loose lining, buckled restraint straps and a pocket 8 x 6 inches. Inside the lid is a 9 x 12½ inches zipped mesh pocket and 2 elasticated pockets each 6 x 9 inches. The case is manufactured in a form of polyester giving it a soft shell feature, and it is framed to allow securing of the 2-position retracting handle and robust fixing of a pair of wheels for pulling or pushing the case along. There is a carrying handle on both top and side. It is lightweight (about 6½ lbs) but overall construction appears sound, even though zips are inevitably vulnerable. In addition to considering sizes and fabrication the provision of external and internal pockets allows for practical organisation. The case is clearly designed with multiple pockets for travelling where ready access is required to items such as passport, boarding card etc. plus phone, tablet, book, toiletries etc. There is a flimsy lock and 2 keys though this is unlikely to be used on personal accompanied luggage. Time will tell but the ‘Travelite Roller Case’ offering is probably good enough to deserve a 5-star rating.

I bought this suitcase 3 months ago and I cannot praise it enough.I travel widely for my job and I go through suitcases like wildfire. I need them to be light, but not so light that they fall apart. This one has been perfect so far. It's not madly fashionable but stylish enough for work use and the colours match my back pack. It can be taken as handluggage on Aer Lingus and Ryan Air, and fits under the seat in all trains including Virgin. The telescopic handle seems really strong and I like the pockets at the front for travel documents, magazine etc. The wheels are sturdy and whilst there are only two, that means there's the maximum of space inside the case. This case is rock solid when stood upright on the platform beside you..There are two sets of straps inside, to keep your luggage secure. The carry-handle is well-padded. There's also a little zip pocket right inside - very useful for a spare stash of credit cards, money etc and great to hide your passport if you don't actually need it yet.In fact, the suitcase abounds with pockets and straps, and has a good quality zip.Time will tell but right now I'm very happy.

I've had this bag nearly a year now; I've been pretty much all around the world with it, and it's still as good as new. Some say the extendable handle looks a bit flimsy. At first I was careful with it, but ended up pulling and hauling it without any adverse effects (when you're on a train in the rush hour, the doors open, and a crowd of people surge forward, you just grab whichever handle is available). It has two pockets on the outside. At airports I use one for a tablet PC as well as toothpaste/liquids etc, and the other for important documents like the trip itinerary. I would find a third pocket useful, for example, when you arrive at security and you have to empty coins, keys etc out of your pockets, only to put them back in again at the other side of the X-ray machines. It's not a bad-looking bag either. I'd recommend it.

I bought this suitcase for business travel where I could only take hand luggage. It is deceptively spacious but fits perfectly into the ryanair luggage checker so no worries about taking it on board. The internal straps and pockets made it easy to keep a space for a laptop bag to go into after going through security, without finding other items had shifted. The small top pocket is great for easy access to a passport and boarding card and the lower pocket for easy access to a book, headphones and snacks for the plane. For such a low price I am very impressed with this suitcase, it is thoughtfully designed and the materials seem robust. It has definitely improved my experience of business travel and I look forward to taking it with me again next time!

Having just returned from a short trip abroad where I spent the last day carrying my bag around I felt a wheeled case would suit the job better. This certainly fits the bill. Plenty of room inside, multiple pockets including external ones for easy access to a passport etc. Build quality seems excellent. I have already tried packing for a casual 5 day trip and found that I still had room for duty free stuff. The external dimensions are in accordance with cabin baggage regulations (at time of writing). The wheels seem sturdy enough for most surfaces and in my personal opinion the larger single direction wheels this has are better suited for irregular surfaces than the multidirectional ones available on other packages.Recommended.

I have had this case for around 3 years now and it probably gets used 4 - 5 times a year. It is still going strong. At the time of writing (April 2019) I have never had a problem with the dimension restrictions for any airline (have traveled with Ryanair, Easyjet, Jet2, BA, KLM, Lufthansa among others). It has endured the hold a couple of times too (voluntarily) and is non the worse of it.It's a light case and as a result there are sturdier ones out there, depends what you want really. If you are looking for a light case that makes the most of the stupidly small baggage dimension / weight allowances then this will do the job. It holds a surprising amount of stuff, more than adequate for a long weekend or business trip.

I am really pleased with all aspects of this purchase. Firstly, speed of delivery to my address in Spain, ordered Thursday 9th June MRW delivered Tuesday 14th June. I haven't travelled with this case yet, but am confident it will suit my requirements, the exterior is strong and the lining is of good quality. The internal straps are webbing, not the dreaded elastic and long enough to fasten diagonally to help eliminate centre 'bulge'. The interior and exterior pockets are well designed and will be very useful. A smart looking cabin bag.

I got this for a weekend trip away, as my old one went to hand luggage heaven. I was extremely surprised how good quality this is. It not only looks stylish and elegant, it is sturdy and strong, yet so light to handle. The inside is deceptively spacious, with lots of organizer pockets. I really liked the addition of a little padlock with keys (although this is not the best quality and is flimsy) it is a nice touch. Extremely pleased with it, and will consider other travelite products in future.

This is a cracking little case for shorthaul airtravel and weekend breaks. Well made and thoughtfully designed it rolls behind you easily and gets over kerbs, steps and rough ground as well as can be expected. External access is good for passport, tickets and reading matter. The internal webbing straps keep your clothes in order. My son has a Samsonite at twice the price and it seems to offer little extra. I will buy another one for my wife as I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I'm happy with the product, I agree with previous reviewers that handle can be a bit unstable, it's not the comfies suitcases to manouver with but it's good enough to have it in one hand with my 9year old in the other. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because it doesn't qualify as 'hand- laguage' for all the airlines. Ryanair was ok but I got charge for it at Flybe gates- it's about cm too big for their measuring box (how annoying) and that cost me £25. Otherwise all good.

27.1.2020

This is a well made case - sturdy handle, construction and wheels. The pockets are well thought through and useful - the inside pockets are a substantial step up on the "documents" pocket that comes with many similar cases. The only negatives are that it is heavy (but, like I said, it's sturdy) and it feels to me like the hinge is on the wrong side, but maybe it's just different from all other cases I've used previously.

30.12.2015

I've not used this a huge amount, but I've taken it on a few trips, mostly in the car (though it also survived a trip around Spain) and it's held up to those pretty well. Considering the fact that I've managed to break 3 suitcases (2 full size and 1 carry-on) in the last couple of years, I feel confident about this one.The extra handle underneath is very useful for picking it up to put on the table/bed etc

5.6.2014

I have had this suitcase just under a year and used it several times as hand luggage on Ryan Air. It has survived being dragged behind me on my twenty minute walk to work on uneven pavments. So far so good. The outside pockets are useful for storing passports and the sealed packets of liquid cosmetics which one has to have easy access to when clearing security. Recommended.

2.2.2017

Well finished all-rounder, just within the cabin baggage dimensions for most airlines. Love the smaller external pocket, so useful for accessing tickets, passports, even has a pen holder. Main compartment spacious with internal clip straps, large outer pocket for documentation, magazines etc. Wheels are rubberised, so much quieter when being hauled across hard surfaces.
