Well, after using several reels for surf, rock and pier fishing, I can comfortable state that Shimano Saragosa SW is one of the best.Especially, if you need to choose one reel for your overseas trip, this reel will cover many types of fishing and will not let you down. Compared to Baitrunners, I especially prefer this for saltwater and sand resistance. As a mechanical engineer and experienced traveller fisherman, I can conclude that fine sand is the major enemy of fixed spool reels, especially for clutch bearing and and line roller bearing. This reel's sealed body is perfect for harsh environments. I reel in the surf with this reel. (important note: sand is a problem even out of water; as sandy wind on the beach is dangerous for baitrunners).

Not tried them yet but they certainly look and you can feel good .They are heavy which you would expect for such a big reel .
