Bought to replace a pair of much loved but completely knackered GT3500 Aero baitrunners after 20 years+ service. If these are the latest BUDGET Mid-size Shimano Baitrunners I'd love to own their top end stuff. The ST6000RB is very well built from quality materials (XT-7) and are very, very smooth - exactly as you would come expect from any Shimano reel. I simply cannot fault them for the price. The clutch is very smooth and precise with no snatching, bail arm trip is very positive, line roller works smoothly and there is absolutely no backlash in anti-reverse whatsoever. Here's to another 20+ years of fishing with a pair of great reels - thanks Shimano. :-)

Yes, I used to use Wychwood, Rapier reels, which I found too big. I was introduced to the Shimano range when a friend gave me 3 Shimano Diaflash "The Bug" rods, so I needed to match them with a reel worthy of those bad boys all in gleaming black. I chose the DL6000RA, I have never looked back, would recommend this brand to anyone, beginner or experienced Shimano is my choice, within my budget and does exactly what it says on the box. Most importantly, it will catch the same fish as Danny Fairbrass, Tom Dove, and Ali Amidi's tackle for a fraction of the cost.

At the cheap end of the Shimano range, this baitrunner does nothing to surprise you. Not loaded with fancy things and coming with a single spool, you get what you pay for.For around £40 there's nothing wrong with this reel if all you want is a simple baitrunner for entry level specimen angling. I don't think I would use it for extreme situations such as distance casting, chucking out a big spomb or tackling huge European carp though.

The original and still the best, very high quality, bargain price. This 6000RB model is now considered the entry reel for the Shimano Baitrunner range. It will handle big river Barbel, Carp, Pike.Just can't fault mine never had any reliability issues I don't buy other brands now. Highly recommended.

This reel is incredible, the bearings are extremely smooth and the action of the baitrunner function is flawless, shimano have always been known for making good quality reels and this is no exception!

Have one for 5 years and still in use. Wanted another reel and could not pass the Shimano 6000. Excellent, sturdy and reliable reel. I use it for Salmon fishing as it has very good drag control.

First use this week..... Two fishing trips to Carp lakes and over 300 lbs of carp successfully landed including 12 and 15 pounders using this ST6000.Its brilliant !

Really pleased with this reel, smooth action, clutch easy to adjust whilst playing fish, just about to get another as my old Shakespeare has given up the ghost.

Excellent reel at a very good price. Well built, not too heavy but sturdy. The bait runner and the clutch work smoothly and I am very pleased with my purchase.

Only use Shimano reels. Needed 2 larger ones for a water I'm on nice deep spools. Cracking reels. Excellent service by company I bought them off.

I dont think you can beat Shimano,and thr price is fantastick . Shimano's are so smoth and strong I personally wont use anything else ++++++

This is my second shimano bait runner reel, fantastic reel and very good value for money, nice strong realiable reel, also casts very well.

Disappointed that there was no spare spool or reel bag. Haven't been able to try as yet! Reel seems to be substantial and fit for the job.
