NOTE: you will need a chain tool specific for 9spd chains with a narrower pin to take links out. My old chain tool was good for 7 or 8 speed so the pin was too big for the pin on the link.Did not really like the linking system with the little pin so just used one of those 9spd links that you use to join...bought it separately. They have always worked very well for me.The bike does feel good now...never thought it would make such a difference. The old chain was only on 0.7mm strech!(2017)I 've got four years worth of relatively tame riding...I would estimate about 5,000km. (update 2020)

I do a lot of commuting and leisure miles on my bike and I'm quite a big chap so the drivechain wears out in a year or two. When I remember I change the chain every few thousand miles, and then I replace the entire drivechain when it starts slipping on the second chain. Because the default deore-level MTB components are inexpensive, I can replace the whole lot for about £50 every 10k miles or so. These chains, like the rest of the components, are always trouble-free.

Shimano is the default manufacturer for bicycle products. If you buy anything other than Shimano, it's because you're trying to prove something to yourself (or someone else) because, why would you? Shimano stuff just works, is often cheapest, just works, and costs less. And it works.So, this 9-speed chain - shiny, 9-speed, works and only 11 quid. Cheap and works. I may have said this before.

A silky smooth chain which has made my bike feel like new again. You get the chain itself and a single pin to fix it using a chain tool. Feels very strong and durable.I ordered a 9spd but the box on mine says 10spd. I'm no expert so I'm not sure how much of a difference this makes but once I sized this up and fitted it, seems to be working all the same.

absolutely brilliant it was as if someone had jumped in a car and delivered it by hand,.. well impressed,.. only one thing there were no UK instructions, but then who needs them,..... like the addition of a easy locating rivet, made joining a doddle (until you find you have rove the chain wrong and you got to split it and do it again)

I was shocked how much a new chain chained my ride! much smoother gear changes and quieter while pedaling,They were a pain to fit but I blame my rubbish chain splitter/joiner not this chain!Typical Shimano quality - why buy anything else!?!

It's a standard Shimano chain so you get what you expect! It came with everything I needed. It was a perfect replacement for my 9 speed folding bike.

Replaced the bike original after taking out a few links. Smoother operation now but would hav been easier if the chain had included a split link
