This reel is a quality made item, feels very solid with a smooth action. Retrieval is fast, and line is packed tightly and neatly so casting is excellent.I use as a barbel reel, it handles big fish with no drama and the baitrunner adjustment is great for bigger rivers with varying flow. It is quite big and heavier than you would expect for the price and the 'compact' description. All of its features, baitrunner adjuster, rear clutch, pop off spool, ratchet button and bale arm are easily accessed and activated by fingertips. If you like to walk from swim to swim you probably would only take one of these reels if you wish to travel light and you definitely need to use bank sticks for a longer session.
