I have used this rod twice thus far. Once in the Bristol Channel and once on the Skerries. The rod is highly sensitive to bites but tough enough to wind fish in.The last occasion I used this was on the Skerries, English Channel, for plaice fishing. The rod showed the delicate first bites of the plaice remarkably well. The biggest I caught was just under 3lb and the rod handled very well. I used an Ambassador 7000c Synchro loaded with 30lb breaking strain with the terminal tackle length provided by Fleuro carbon 12 lb breaking strain. I also boated a 16 lb blonde eye ray which again, the rod handled well. A truly fantastic rod for the money which provides excellent sport with its light action.

As soon as I put this rod together I thought it was great and could hardly wait to fish with it, Light in the hand, it has a good action and comes with a lot of recommendations: I first saw it on a piece on youtube that combined this with a penn 5000 reel that costs considerably more than the rod, but I bought an Amazon suggested buy which is quite cheap, but works well and I review elsewhere. I'm into float fishing for mackerel at the moment and with a suitable float and weight it makes 20 - 30 foot casts with ease and a certain amount of precision. It is beautifully balanced and great to fish with.

Bought it together with Mitchell reel and together with this rood they create quite good light spinning set. Rod is sensitive enough, I would prefer mounting to be made from metal, rather than plastic, but for that price you can't complain. The picture is not accurate, as the reel mount is of the new type, everything else is as described. Very light, responsive. Only minor complain is that it did not arrive with protecting sleeve, which I think other rods form Shakespeare do.Good rod if you want start spin fishing

I’ve been using this rod for about 4 months now. I actually bought this as my first rod because of the price and have since used many different ones, and have to admit that this is still my go-to for all round fishing. I’ve used it from landing little dinky roach to 5-6lb carp and it’s held up to the job every time. I’ve used it with a fixed spool and also with a multiplier reel and it works flawlessly with both. All-in-all this is the most versatile rod I’ve used to far, great for beginner to intermediate anglers

One of the very best in the Ugly Stik range. A foot longer than the normal rods I would use for spinning from the boat but the 1 piece eyes and a stroke of genuis! No more having the eyes fail under heavy load from big fish, this rod has handled double figure Pollack no bother. From the shore it's capable of throwing most soft plastics and spinners a good distance. I've used this rod several times on the videos on my IOM Fishing youtube channel, especially looking for Bass from the shore where it excels.

I have sadly lost the second piece of this rod and now I ordered two more to replace it. Awesome rod, I prefer the 6ft one. Very strong and durable I use these rods for everything. My pb carp is only 10lbs but it was caught on this beauty and I know for sure it could handle more than that tiny 10lbs carp. The short 6ft is awesome for pike fishing on the canals with a decent reel and some 15-20lbs braid in case of snags. Very light and comfortable and most of all at an affordable price.

Very very strong rod. I went on a boat fishing trip and landed 4 beautiful COD's (17 lb) on a single cast, all together! I used the rod with a 50lb braided line. Obvisouly for boat fishing it would have been better to use a medium-heavy or heavy one, but if your occoationaly on boat trips this rod still amazingly does the job! Very recommended, specially if you are planing to use it for different fishing techniques! With the price and quality I don't think any rod can beat this one.

Very pleased with the rod, I have used it twice and found that it handles smoothly. I have removed 1 star for the slightly misleading advertising, it states pack of two, which could be interpreted as 2 rods, what it actually means, is that the rod is sent in 2 pieces, other than that, a very good product, which I highly recommend.

2 piece, 2 section, unless this advertiser has changed wording. THIS DOES NOT MEAN 2 RODS. Duuuurrrrr. Cannot for the life of me, think why some people, think this is 2 RODS. No i have not got this rod. But i have never had a problem, with products from this company, in 50 years of fishing. Come on, its not rocket science.

solid rod for the price, landed a 19lb pike last week without any problems. My rods tend to take some stick as I move around a lot through rough terrain, I have snapped the end of my savage gear rod twice now and had to ditch it. So will see how this holds up as a replacement, so far so good and at half the price.

Looks like a great rod but surprised I had to clean out the joint before assembling. Looks like excess finishing material (gloss coat) had migrated into the joint so watch out for this. The mating shaft of my rod is now scored but still seems like a satisfactory fit at the moment.

I've bought the 7 foot version off this rod along with a Shimano Hyperloop 4000RB and some 6lb braid. I use this for sea fishing and using a 28g weight I can literally launch it so far with a tiny flick of my rod. The rod handles very well and the bite detection is great.

Used this recently fishing for bass and mackeral. Sadly I did not catch anything but from what I can see and from others reviews this is a superb rod for the price point, as I would not want to pay anymore for something that could break. I would highly recommend this rod!

I really like the product. It was perfect. I was planning to take it to my holiday and then realized that i am not allowed to take with me on the plain. I had contacted the seller and it took only couple days to send back the product and receive money back. Thx you

This range of rods are tough as nails.Great bite detection too. I use a 6'6 and a 9 foot for shore lure fishing and these rods really can take a beating yet are light and a pleasure to cast.Check out some of the experiments on youtube?
