I like how durable this rod is and how sensitive at the same time. I caught a carp that was 13 lbs and the bat eagle ray was 11 and they pulled my drag a little at 39 lbs. by the time I tightened it all the way. The rod was at a 90 degree angle while trying to get those in too. So I’m pretty impressed at how much they can flex and I’m sure it can handle bigger fish. But even though these can catch some decent sized fish, you can still fish for bluegills with these. Just recently I caught my smallest leopard shark with it just because I can feel it nibbling away. I definitely recommend buying this if you want to fish in ponds, lakes, streams, rivers and piers.

I have used this rod twice thus far. Once in the Bristol Channel and once on the Skerries. The rod is highly sensitive to bites but tough enough to wind fish in.The last occasion I used this was on the Skerries, English Channel, for plaice fishing. The rod showed the delicate first bites of the plaice remarkably well. The biggest I caught was just under 3lb and the rod handled very well. I used an Ambassador 7000c Synchro loaded with 30lb breaking strain with the terminal tackle length provided by Fleuro carbon 12 lb breaking strain. I also boated a 16 lb blonde eye ray which again, the rod handled well. A truly fantastic rod for the money which provides excellent sport with its light action.

This breaks down into 2 x 3ft sections and is perfect for putting in the back of the van without getting in the way. It's a great all rounder having been used in the sea for bass and on the canal for pike. It casts all sorts of lures of varying weights with minimal effort, with a well balanced reel it's a pleasure to use. I find it has great strength despite its short length yet brilliant sensitivity and with softness to play fish without putting pressure on the terminal tackle. I've had a few occasions where I've been snagged and I've ended up testing the rod strength to the extreme, almost bending double whilst dislodging and rescuing my lures. It's great fun, highly recommended.

I’ve been using this rod for about 4 months now. I actually bought this as my first rod because of the price and have since used many different ones, and have to admit that this is still my go-to for all round fishing. I’ve used it from landing little dinky roach to 5-6lb carp and it’s held up to the job every time. I’ve used it with a fixed spool and also with a multiplier reel and it works flawlessly with both. All-in-all this is the most versatile rod I’ve used to far, great for beginner to intermediate anglers

One of the very best in the Ugly Stik range. A foot longer than the normal rods I would use for spinning from the boat but the 1 piece eyes and a stroke of genuis! No more having the eyes fail under heavy load from big fish, this rod has handled double figure Pollack no bother. From the shore it's capable of throwing most soft plastics and spinners a good distance. I've used this rod several times on the videos on my IOM Fishing youtube channel, especially looking for Bass from the shore where it excels.

Awesome rod! I own some really nice rods and this one is no exception. These have great action and can take a beating. It's nice to be able to not worry about it because if i break it (which seems unlikely) i can just get a replacement on prime. 3o bucks! No biggy. I got one in 7 and one in 9' both medium. I paired the 9 with a Sharky 3 Baitrunner 4000 which fits perfect and looks nice with the red detail. I paired rhe 7 with a slightly smaller Daiwa Regal 3500 though i think the 4000 would be better.

I have sadly lost the second piece of this rod and now I ordered two more to replace it. Awesome rod, I prefer the 6ft one. Very strong and durable I use these rods for everything. My pb carp is only 10lbs but it was caught on this beauty and I know for sure it could handle more than that tiny 10lbs carp. The short 6ft is awesome for pike fishing on the canals with a decent reel and some 15-20lbs braid in case of snags. Very light and comfortable and most of all at an affordable price.

Very very strong rod. I went on a boat fishing trip and landed 4 beautiful COD's (17 lb) on a single cast, all together! I used the rod with a 50lb braided line. Obvisouly for boat fishing it would have been better to use a medium-heavy or heavy one, but if your occoationaly on boat trips this rod still amazingly does the job! Very recommended, specially if you are planing to use it for different fishing techniques! With the price and quality I don't think any rod can beat this one.

I bought this when the eyelets on my old Ugly Stik started to fall out. It is a vast improvement in my oppinion. I have noticed no change in strength/responsiveness and the eyelets are one piece instead of two. The grip is much more water friendly than the classis cork and the matte black color is attractive. The 6 foot is perfect for kayak fishing as it allows to you reach the tip of the rod easier in case you get a tangle or something stuck on the line. Great rod

I keep getting it because it’s great bang for buck. I need to the two peice for the car. However. I have lost 2 of the tops inadvertently in the lake. 3 strikes and I’ll be out. So careful with making sure the top is on snug. Wish the gasket gripped a little tighter. Other than that casts great and feels awesome with small and medium fish. Strong enough for larger bass, pickerel and pike. Still good action with the perch

Yes, rug. Seems that Amazon decided I needed a rug more than I needed a rod to go with the reel they just sent me. So, I returned it. But, I did buy the rod at a local sporting goods store (I won't mention the name but I do like bass fishing). It's a great rod, and I would recommend it, but I sure wish they had sent me the rod and not the rug. Return went well, though.

It's a great rod with a great feel to it. The only negative I can say about it is that it is a 2 piece rod and twice it flew apart on me. once while casting and once while trying to pull the line out of a snag. The line broke and the rod came apart and went into the river...gone! If you get this rod keep an eye on the upper piece.

solid rod for the price, landed a 19lb pike last week without any problems. My rods tend to take some stick as I move around a lot through rough terrain, I have snapped the end of my savage gear rod twice now and had to ditch it. So will see how this holds up as a replacement, so far so good and at half the price.

Really surprised how light and comfortable this rod is, and so flexible. Great price and arrived really quickly. I had a couple of questions on the casting weight (I am a novice fisherman) and the lady I spoke to at the store was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. Caught a fish on my first time out with it.

Beautiful rod .. Lightweight and durable...I would buy again..Packaging was undesirable, just the rod place on a box NO padding nothing at all no bubble wrap at all . One of the rod eyes was slightly bend. I was able to straighten with ease.But at the end of the day I really love this rod...
