This saddle is for the advanced cyclist. For the intermediate or beginner, I recommend the Zefal Journey, which has a 175 mm width. I was able to take the Journey 70 miles in one afternoon. But after a month & a half, my butt muscles have advanced to the point that 175 mm is too wide. I had to get a narrower saddle. The Respiro Athletic is around 147 mm wide, and it did the job. Some normal size men may have a problem with the relief not being further forward enough. Furthermore, the front is elevated some. In the first nine days, I rode 351 miles. On each of the 8th & 9th day, I rode 61 miles in 5 hours. I didn't have much of an issue with the saddle. Given the price, I think it's a decent saddle. In case it may be a problem for you, like it is for one reviewer, the mounting rail is angled such that if the rail is put flat, the saddle will be tilted down around five degrees. I was able to adjust it so that the saddle is flat, like it's suppose to be.

I'm new to cycling and I really consider myself a casual rider. However, the seat that came with my Fuji Track Classic was just flat and terrible. This is a very nice replacement without looking out of place on the bike. The channel in the middle definitely made a much larger difference in comfort than I expected and friends that has ridden my bike agree that it's very comfortable - for men especially. I'm 5'4" and I think the saddle is a good size. It's not too long, not too wide and still blends in nicely with a track or road bike, while giving you more casual riding comfort. The seat is still position for the more athletic riding position, but regardless of how you'll ride it's a very well balanced seat and a great price to boot.I can't comment too much on how air flow is, because I really ride mostly with jeans or regular shorts on, but I know it should provide some added comfort for those that ride in cycling clothing.

This was a superb replacement for the razor blade fitted to my Specialized Allez. I completed a Triathlon last year using this and during all the training and the race itself it was a god send. Cycling is my least favourite discipline and I particularly hate how every bump and pothole causes trauma to your back, backside and surrounding areas! This saddle is very comfortable and narrow enough not to compromise performance. It soaks up the worst of the jolts and vibrations from the road and I cant recommend it highly enough. Loses one star from me because the seat cover material seems extremely thin and I ripped mine by accident by resting my tri box on the saddle.Seems a little too flimsy for my liking but still bought another as a replacement and will be more careful in future!

This Saddle is exaclty what I was looking for. I weigh around 160 lb, and I am a little boney. I commute at least 70 miles a week on a flat bar urban commuter bike. I only have about 36 miles of riding in with this saddle, but I think it is fair to say that it is definitely a keeper. It is quite comfortable. It is not too soft, and not too firm. The covering keeps the rain out, and is not slippery. It has a very unique and attractive look to it. It also seems to be of great quality. I think it will last me a long time. I would definitely buy this again. I bought a Sell Royal saddle for my wife's bike years ago, and it has held up extremely well. I liked the feel and quality of it,which is why I decided on the same brand.

I'm 6' 2" and 170 lbs - so I'm pretty slim. I've tried about 4 other bike saddles before (Specialized, WTB) up to $180 and non of them was comfortable even with padded liner. Now I've been riding with this one for about 3 month and it's PERFECT. I ride All Mountain/Enduro style on a 2015 Specialized StumpJumper EVO Carbon and it's just a great saddle, even that it's a bit heavier than others, I don't really feel it. I would say that the only tiny negative part about this saddle is cause it's a bit wider than all the rest it takes time to get used to it on a DH part. But after 2-3 rides you'll be fine.So do your but a favor and get itGood Luck

Ok let's be honest. I've got some weight to shift and the bike is the exercise I like best. When I'm outside I lose track of time and burn a lot of calories. But I've been having big time numbness in the perineum that's been forcing me to limit the time spent on the road. I eventually got fed up of this and threw my stock saddle in the bin and bought the Respiro. Instantly I could tell I was going to love it! The pressure was squarely on my sitting bones and not on my jewels. It was as if I was given a new bike. Best saddle I've ever had. 5 stars!

Heavier than OEM seat but that's too be expected. Accomplished adding more cushion so no padded bike shorts are needed, all while maintaining decent style. I like so much I purchased a second one for my other bike. I have both seats installed on my ~2010 Specialized Stumpjumper 29er mountain bike and 2014 Raleigh RX 1.0 cyclecross bike. I've used the one on my mountain bike for entire like of the bike, equates to years and thousands of miles, has held up great with no signs of wearing out.

This seat seems designed to stop pain from having your front and rear bits squashed, and it's very effective. Because it's not a standard big-bum seat, but has a gap in the middle, there is slightly added pressure on the left and right buttocks compared with e.g. a London Cycle Hire seat. However, compared with the narrow seats which as a bloke I'm used to, the absence of bum-torture is bliss. I think this is basically the best bike seat you can get if you're looking to avoid pile pain.

Bought this for my Bad Boy, which has a really horrible seat. I wanted to buy something comfortable for commuting, that didn't break the bank, and this didn't disappoint.I wasn't quite sure what the difference between this (Athletic) vs. the Moderate version, but it looks almost the same, except maybe the Moderate has a wider seat and more cushion. which might be better for long commutes or bigger bottoms. Plus it's a couple dollars cheaper.

I have tried many saddles on both road bikes and mountain bikes, most of them retailing at prices far higher than this Selle Royal saddle. I have been very impressed with the support and comfort of this saddle in use on a mountain bike, even over prolonged trips. Maybe not the lightest, but certainly the most comfortable I have bought and therefore allows longer rides to be planned without the anticipation of pain after the first hour!

This saddle has great quality. I have 75kg weight and every weekend I do bike in urban at least 50-80 km and I make sure that saddle is quite comfortable not too soft and not too hard, the material is very good quality when it rains and does not feel slippery. It has a very unit and appealing look, I love the nuance and quality, that's why I feel satisfied. I just bought about 1 month ago and I hope this is not easily damaged.

This replaced my old Selle Royal Respiro Moderate Saddle and is jus as comfortable even though its slightly narrower (I'm on the larger well built side). I'm amazed how cool the black material stays whilst in bright sunshine. I have completed around 700 miles on it and no issues. I have also fitted the Fizik saddle bag which just clips in. All round this is a great saddle for touring and commuting

Kudos to whomever invented this seat. I can take short rides (30-45 minutes without bike shorts. Replaced the original seat on my Felt cyclo-cross seat that flliterally felt like sitting on a piece of plywood . The Selle Royal Xsenium saddle is awesome. 5 stars for comfort and style. If you are looking for comfort and style and a value, look no further.

My bike came with a standard (leather, firm, ultra-slim) saddle, which I used a stretch cushion on for a few years. Finally Decided on changing it. After trying a few bikes in a bike shop I noticed this one fitting me the best. Got it here at half price of my bike shop. Great feel, sleek and you can actually feel the breeze where you need one :-)

Love this seat! I'm 6'1" 195lbs and it's very comfortable. My stock seat was awful. I can ride all day in comfort on this one. I now have almost 1,000 miles on it in the last 4 months, no problems, holding up good. Been rained on several times without issues. Buying another one now for wife's new bike. We ride mainly road, a little gravel.
