I have no idea what a Psittacosaurus is, but I’m sure my 5-year old resident palaeontologist will look up the detail in his reference works and soon fill me in. I love the combination of Jurassic education- and play-value.I bought this smallish dino for him because it seems to stand out from the other Schleich Dino’s; for one thing its quite bright green. But it’s also posed in an interesting dynamic but defensive manner. And then there is the head with the side horns and imposing beak.. As usual this Schleich figure comes very detailed and is allegedly hand-painted with counter shading effects. The figure’s detail and sculpting is leaves little to comment on. The realistically crafted skin texture is very impressive.In fact it’s great that we get some other dino’s from Schleich than the obligatory t-rex and triceratops.The Schleich figures are invariably of high quality and durable, we got hundreds of them and only a few suffer from broken parts. More have lost some of their paint decorations due to rough handling during play and as a result of inconsiderate storage in unforgiving plastic boxes – these stunning miniatures simply remain in a better condition with display. However, compared to other cheaper branded miniature animals and dinos the Schleich figures appear to hold their paint much better.
