When I was in my mid-30's I developed Morton's neuroma in one foot, and after deciding that I wanted to still be able to walk in old age, I switched to wearing only sensible shoes. I initially bought a pair of Dansko clogs because they had the wide toe box and arch support I needed. I wore Danskos for around 15 years and noticed a big difference in quality between the original pairs I bought and the last pairs; the very last pair I had felt very noticeably different in fit than the first pair; after wearing for a few months they stretched a great deal and felt like they were a size too big; the heel in particular spread way out. After reading about how Sanita was the original manufacturer, when it was time to buy new clogs 3 years ago, I bought these. The quality really is miles beyond Dansko's, and the price is much more reasonable. My pair I bought 3 years ago is still going strong; my last pair of Danskos were completely misshapen and the trim at the arch was worn out by the end of 3 years. The fit on these is really different than the Danskos; that being said, they fit more like the original pairs of Danskos I bought than the ones Dansko is making now. You do need to order a size up; I'm a 7-1/2 in most shoes, wore a 38 in Danskos and ordered a 39 Sanita. Even then they were initially just a bit tight across the instep due to my high arch, though not too tight for comfort. I just wore them with opaque hosiery socks for the first few weeks until they stretched a bit, then was able to wear them with my favored lightweight wool socks after that. Unlike the Danskos that stretched way out of shape, after 3 years my Sanitas are still snug with cotton socks. I much prefer the fit of the Sanitas in the heel area; even after wearing mine for the past 3 years the heels haven't spread out; for those who are unfamiliar with the fit of these types of clogs (the heel is supposed to be loose; the heel of your foot is supposed to move up and down independent of the shoe as you walk), these will be a much easier adjustment than the Danskos. If you care about the health of your feet and can adjust to the different fit of a clog vs regular shoes, you can't go wrong with these. I've never had any problem with the Morton's neuroma since I switched over to these shoes, or with plantar fasciitis or any other problem caused by wearing shoes that are bad for feet. Old age is getting closer every year but my feet are still going strong!

I have no experience with this line of shoe and bought this Lisbeth with two other pair of the Professional Oiled Clogs also just in case something fit me. I bought the Lisbeth one size longer than I usually take in a standard non-clog shoe and decided not to try a wide here but got a wide in both of the Sanita Professional Oiled Clogs and one with the recommended size larger in length and the other my regular shoe size. The wide was clearly too wide in these shoes but it needed to be one with a size larger in length. On the Lisbeth, the left shoe needed stretching in width so by getting the standard width it was really too narrow but only one shoe and is a tad short but only on that one same shoe.I am hoping that it will even out over time and that my toes won't take a beating. I am wearing thick socks. The right shoe fit perfectly. I ordinarily wear a medium width. The wide was just too wide. I was swimming in them. I wanted the Sanita shoes for the lighter weight. I recently had a lot of flooding where I live and not one drop of water got in them. My experience with Dansko shoes is only with lace-up shoes of the Krista which is no longer made sadly. Their medium width likely won't need stretching but is a heavier shoe and cost a little more and not made in Denmark.UPDATE: I wear these shoes everywhere now. I did have to put a 1 inch or so piece of tape on the last of the shoe where the seams meet the front part of the shoe right on each side on both insides on the side. Someone had already done that in the trying of these shoes previously. That gave me the good idea to do it too for my very own hot spots. I had some cloth tape laying around so I used that. I wear them with skirts and pants and everywhere but to bed. I am glad I gave them a go. I can wear thicker socks again and there is no discomfort as the leather has stretched to fit me now. I am pleased.update: I started to fall with these shoes for no reason with about every 3 months taking a dive to the pavement without tripping. In researching on the Dansko site, many older women eventually did experience falling and had to give up wearing clogs. Since I did not try the Dansko clog, I have no way of knowing if falling would happen but I trust it would after I consulted with a long time wearer of Dansko clogs who is now in her late 60's who after years of wearing clogs, had to give them up because of falling.

I usually wear a 7.5 or an 8, depending on the shoe, and I have a fairly narrow foot - not super narrow, but more narrow than a medium. I read all the reviews which say these run small - boy, oh boy, do they run small. Since I had read all the warnings, I ordered a 39 - a full size larger than what I usually wear. When the shoes arrived, I could barely wedge my foot into the left shoe, and I could not get the right foot in at all. Clogs are supposed to fit loose - you are supposed to be able to put your pinky finger in between the back of your foot and the back of the shoe, while you are wearing them. So, I am returning the size 39 and have ordered a size 41 - which is supposed to be a US size 10.5-11.This is 3 full sizes larger than what I usually wear. Once I receive the size 41 I will update the review.Just be aware that you may need to order UP TO THREE SIZES LARGER than what you usually wear.Unfortunately, I think this may be a shoe you need to try on in a store, in order to avoid all the sending back and forth and returning.***UPDATE*** OK, so I have tried on two other sizes at this point. The 41 was way too big, and the 40 feels a little big, but I'm going to go ahead and stick with it because I can't spend any more time buying and returning shoes on Amazon. Clogs are supposed to fit loose, but I feel like what I really need is a "39 and a half". It seems to me that this company may be having some quality control issues - I wonder if the 39-sized pair I got was somehow smaller than their usual 39? It just seems like there's a big jump in size from the 39 to the 40. If I had been at a store and had been able to try on a few different pairs of "39"s, maybe I would be able to find one that fit better. The size I ended up with is 2 sizes larger than what I usually wear, but I have to say that I think their US to European size equivalent chart may not be very accurate. As far as the clogs go, they seem very well made, and they have good arch support. One star off because I feel like they need to offer half sizes, or at the very least refine and update how their sizes translate to US sizes.

I've only worn these shoes for a few hours but wanted to write a review to help buyers know just how much difference there is between a Sanita regular width (B) and wide width (C//D). I wear an 8 in most shoes, but sometimes have to buy wides in shoes like heels and sandals with a strap over the top because my feet are not only a bit wide, but I have also have high arches and insteps. I usually can get away with regular width athletic shoes, depending on brand. When I tried on the size 39 Sanita at my local scrub store, I couldn't get my foot in far enough to have the arch support in contact with the proper part of my foot. I had to use both hands to pry it off my foot and it wasn't easy.I tried the 40's only to find that it was still tight over the top of my foot but not as much. The rest of the shoe was simply too big. With the 39 wide I ordered from Amazon, my foot slid right in. It's mildly snug on top but nothing uncomfortable in the least. If you have a high instep and even a moderately wide foot, the wide width is for you. I'm sure the regular width would've eventually loosened up as I'm told that these shoes require a lot of breaking in, but it was incredibly uncomfortable and I don't have a week of my life to to hand over to sore feet when I have 2 jobs and 3 kids to chase after. I'm glad I took a chance and ordered the wide width even though I'd never tried them on because the difference is significant. Good luck!

I got my first pair of Danskos in 2006. They still wear like a dream and are the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned, and they still look new. In 2010, I bought "Danskos" not knowing the company had split and Sanita had taken the sole of the shoe (my favorite part). I've tried to love my 2010 "Danskos," but finally gave up on them at the end of 2013--too floppy, support in the wrong place, wrong fit even though it's the same size, and utter discomfort. They took more than two painful weeks to break in when I first got them, and they've never felt right. But I'm a "use it up, wear it out" kind of person and have a hard time throwing out anything that isn't trashed. This Chistmas,I decided I needed to return to my sole roots and get some Sanitas. The first time I tried them on, my feet breathed a sigh of relief that let me know they were home again. I wore them to work with no pain, only podiatric delight. No painful break in was needed. I am so thrilled to have this sole back in my life.I loved the price on these--$67 when I bought them. The oiled black upper attracts dirt, but I don't mind wiping them down to new condition now and again. My whole body feels better with these shoes on my feet for those long shifts.Sorry "Dansko," you've had your day with me. I'll forever be Sanita customer.

I have two pairs of Dansko clogs, but as I can only get them on visits to the USA, I thought I'd give the Sanita ones a try. I do a lot of standing around in my work (security), and clogs are more comfortable than flat shoes.Delivery was very quick, ordered on Saturday and arrived on Tuesday. I like the look of the Sanita clogs, they are well finished with no rough edges. They feel slightly narrower and tighter across the arch than the Dansko ones, but still fitted very well, and were comfortable on bare feet from the start. I've decided to wear them in slowly this time - I stupidly wore my last pair of Danskos all day on their first outing, and it wasn't a great idea! The length is as expected, with room for heel rise and toe movement, and there was no rubbing at all. Because the Sanita clogs are a little less bulky than the Dansko ones, they actually look better under jeans. First outing was successful, and I'm very happy with them. At the moment I wear them with bare feet, which is fine, but I'm hoping that once they've shaped themselves to my feet, I'll also be able to wear them with socks.Highly recommended, and at least I won't be boring my friends in the US with my searches for Danskos any more!

This is a much better quality built shoe that the Dansko and you can tell by the feel of the materials and the way it is made. Of course it is new so time will tell how well it holds up. I would have given it 5 stars but left one off for the misleading advertizment. I believe they put the Danish flag in the opening of the shoe in order for the buyer to assume it is made in Denmark as were all previously but upon close inspection and with my flashlight I was able to see up in the front of the toe box the stamp "Made in Poland". While I believe this is much better quality than Chinese made Dansko's, it was a little misleading. For one thing, why is the Danish flag in a very visible spot but the made in Poland ink stamped and very far up in the toe of the shoe? Hummmm.Overall a nice looking and feeling shoe and I will not be sending them back as I did with the Danskos.Note: the leather is much darker in the brown version than in the pictures which I very much like. Just note that if you want this color brown as shown it will not be so light. I will post a picture of the "made in" stamp in the photo section if they open it up for customer photos.

I bought these for my boyfriend who is a working chef, so he is on his feet for about 10 hours+. The arch isn't ''way too high'' as some people mentioned. It's lower than a female's arch and my boyfriend's arch matches it very well. It's form fit for your feet, curving in places where your feet naturally curve. I can see why these shoes can be ''uncomfortable'' for some if you have super flat feet+ no arch what so ever! I measured out the inside of the shoe, going from the highest point to the heel and it's 10.2 inches in length. That roughly translate to a size 8 in Nikes, Reebok, etc. I bought a size EURO 41 for my boyfriend and they're a tad bit too wide for his feet, but he has narrow feet so that explains why. . . however, thick socks fixed that problem right away. I weighed each shoe: 1 lb 1.5 oz, this might be very heavy to some compared to classic sneakers (Reebok, size 8 Mens) which weighed 8.8 oz, however the comfort ''outweighs'' that issue! See my pun there? Will update when boyfriend reports back to me about how they held up in a week's time at work. .

I normally wear 9.5 for my right foot - and can normally get away with that for my left foot but not in this case. The right shoe fit perfectly but the left shoe was too short. I thought about trying to have my cobbler stretch the left but decided against that. The width was perfect for both feet though. My left foot is bigger than my right foot and it sometimes makes it a challenge to find shoes on line. They did move a bit on my heel but I wasn't sure if it was because they are clogs. If your feet are pretty close in size, I would stick with the size you normally wear. These shoes would have been wonderful to wear for long periods only if it hadn't put so much pressure on my left big toe. They are heavy but I was getting used to that. They are very well made. I am very disappointed that I had to return them. I have decided to try Crocs for my indoor shoes based on my foot doctor's recommendation. Also, have purchased Asics Gel Foundation Walking shoes for everyday wear. I am retired so I don't have to worry about office shoes.

I did a lot of research before finally deciding to buy and after wearing them for a few weeks I can really say that I love them. They are not the best for a lot of walking but are wonderful for spending a lot of time on your feet. Yesterday I worked a 12 hour shift and then spent 3 hours on my feet in the kitchen at home. These shoes made it possible! I bought the oiled leather since I'd read reviews of the patent leather peeling. They look really nice and I can wear them with both scrubs and slacks. The arch support is very strong which was something that took getting used to. Based on other reviews I also bought a size larger than I normally might (I wear a 9-9&1/2 shoe and I bought a 41).The top of the shoe can be tight on your foot (especially in thicker socks) so I am glad I went with a larger size, even after breaking them in. I can tell they are very high quality and I look forward to several years of wearing them.

I just bought these shoes recently, so I can't say as to how long they will last me, but I did almost return them because of the fit. I wear a size 6.5-7 so I got the 37's. I also always thought my feet were wide, and after reading the many reviews about how they run narrow, I purchased the C/D width, which I think is the widest you can get. However, once I got them, my foot was pretty much slipping out of the shoe with every step and one was noticeably larger than the other. I don't know if it's just my feet or the shoes, but I never noticed this issue before. I read more reviews and found out that the heel is supposed to come out a little bit, so I'm gonna stick with these.I definitely have to wear thick socks to make them stay on, but I'm hoping I'll get over the fact that the heel comes out a lot. It's usually somewhat of an annoying tick for me. Otherwise, the quality is great and they're super lightweight!

These shoes are just like I expected except for one thing, they are too long. I read the reviews and all reported that these run small so order up a size. Well, that didn't work for me. I ordered a narrow and that part was great, they were just a size too long. I usually wear a 41 in European size so I ordered a 42, I even hesitated but decided to listen to the reviews. Oh well, Amazon is so great about returns that it's no problem. I have the box ready to go and should have my shoes in the right size soon. All is good.Well, I got the 2nd pair and the length of the show is great, problem is, I can hardly get my right foot into the shoe. I have never had a problem with a shoe too narrow so this is a first.I have worn them around the house to see if they will stretch a little, but so far it's not looking good. I will probably have to send these back. :(

While the right shoe is a little tight still (due to my own foot issue), these shoes are comfortable and seem to be made well. As stated by other reviewers, they are slightly smaller that Dansko, but that is fine because Dansko 37's were always a little too big for me. I originally ordered the 38 in these, but returned them as they were too big and accidentally ordered a 37 wide, so had to return those too. I now have a regular 37 and the right foot is slowly getting a little looser with each wearing.Amazon was great with the return. The first return was credited to my account immediately. The 2nd return was credited after they received the shoes back, but that was quick too.The mailing label that is printed at home is wonderful and there is no charge to drop off the box at a UPS store. Great service and great product.

I have plantar fasciitis and have read that rocker bottom shoes help relieve the heel pain. I was told by a local shoe store to try Dansko. When I came across the Sanita I just loved the looks and style.I am a true 8 1/2, I never wear a 9 so I ordered a 39 EU. My toes were squished and I couldn't wear them. I returned them for the 40 EU and they fit perfect even though the size comparison says it's for 9 1/2 - 10. So please size up so you don't have to go through the whole return thing.I just received the new pair today and they feel very comfortable. I can't wait to put them to the test to see if they help out with the heel pain. The shoes are made so well and look so nice. Thanks to Amazon I was able to catch a sale which made them very affordable. Let the walking begin.

I ordered the antique brown in "11.5-12". The box I received shows "42" and when I looked up sizing on Sanita's website they state their 42 is the equivalent of a 10.5/11 NOT 11.5-12 as Amazon states here. I am returning this size and ordering the next size up- the "12.5-13" (which should be a "43" and according to Sanita is a women's 12). So this is a sort of preliminary review based upon sizing. For reference, I wear a women's size 11 to 12 depending upon the brand and style (most of the time I can get away with size 11 if the style is "true to size" or "runs large").As for the color and apparent quality etc: the color is a darker brown than pictured and quality seems great.I'll try to update my review after I receive the next size up.
