This isn't the right time to ask me to review a suitcase - get back to me in 2040. I've had my current Samsonite Oyster since 1990 and it is still going strong. It's had a hard life and doesn't mind a bit.The case is HUGE inside, but doesn't seem that much bigger than the Oyster 70cm. You will never regret not having a large enough bag. If you are travelling in Economy, you won't be able to fill it.The only negative is that Samsonite has not provided internal side pockets to store socks and bits and pieces. In my Oyster, I use these for cables, lighters, a Swiss army knife, and other useful utensils.I do not like the spindly wheels - although they seem quite robust, I'm certain a baggage handler will put one to grief. But times change, and you cannot buy the two-wheeled Samsonites any more. My shoulders will be thankful. If you travel for business and/or buy things and have a decent baggage allowance, this is really worth having. If you are short, this probably isn't for you.

First I'm going to say that this suitcase is the best one I've bought.Very sturdy, great design (nice subtle logo pattern on the front) and 3 point lock system which is great and feels secure. You'll find that moving it around is so easy with the 4 wheels even when it's overloaded which brings me to my main point and probably the only negative one. This suitcase is very large and has lots of space which means that you can easily go over the limit of around 20kgs of airlines companies. The issue is that it yes it's a relatively light suitcase for its size and the fact that it has a hard shell but it is still slightly over 5kgs which means that you're left with lots of space to fill it in butnot many kilos so it will end up being quite empty most of the times.Next time I will probably go with the 75cm size instead but I will say it again, you can't go wrong with it.

Bought for recent cruise. Always had 'hard' cases - as well aware of how they are poorly handled at airport. Had last case for over 15 years and still going strong, but was the traditional suitcase shape (with wheels at one corner and handle on opposite end, so had to keep bending down to left handle up and pull along on back wheels - a real pain, especially as getting older with back issues, but that was the only option at that time)Spinners are life-changing!Just a joy to use, tend to walk with mine at my side (easier to control, and not tripping folk behind you) Was so easy to use and move around. Very strongly made - wanted a catch-lock system (zips all well and good until the zip breaks, then nothing to do but get new case!). Love it! Added extra joy to the holiday!

I have always been a fan of Samsonite cases. And to be honest always will be. Purchased my first Samsonite about 10years ago but lost it on many of my past moves! I was gutted. After that I turned to cheap, smaller cases bought from a local suitcase shop but nothing compared to SAMSONITE. So I decided to invest into a new one. And I am so glad I did. They are just as I remembered. My friend said she had hers for over 10 years and is still going strong. Do not be put off by bad reviews, they are the best cases out there and to be fair if anything did go wrong with mine, I would only be rushing to buy a new one, without a shadow of a doubt!! Well done SAMSONITE

Bought this suitcase for my travels on the recommendation that Samsonite hardcases are the best around and I haven't been disappointed. I waited to leave a review after my first holiday using this suitcase to Malaysia and I am very pleased with it, not as sturdy as previous Samsonite hardcase models, however the size vast and the flexibility of the material allow for more than adequate storage and easy transportation to any destination. The instructions to use the combination lock can be a bit clearer in my opinion but once my own code was set there were no problems.

All fine till now, surviving many trips around the worldBut I find it a little heavy, so you quickly reach the maximal weight when taking a flight. And it lacks handles, you have just two of them : the one you see on the side is solid but not practical in many situations (climbing the stairs) and the other one is great to trolley the case but not to hold the full weight of the luggage (when climbing the stairs for example), so I often feel the plastic bending and it is quite scary (but it did not break ...yet)Otherwise a great piece of luggage

Really good case. It has what seems like a waterproof seal around the opening. Three catches, and a handle that can be extended to various heights. I used it with 30kg inside through London underground and it handled well on all sorts of terrain. It does have locks but I don't bother with these as they just increase the chance of someone thieving the whole thing! Some neat catches on the inside for the separator. Well worth it.

I travel every week for work & various suitcases have died over the years. I have settled on this type as I believe they are robust enough for my heavy duty needs. I have used this models smaller brother but needed something a little larger for a few specific tools I need for some tasks. Otherwise I would not consider a case this large. Moves really well. Costs a lot but a quality product.

It is perfect for my needs.I bought this because it has a hinge basically fart superior to the all round zip, I fly long haul regular and my last case with all round zip lasted only 4 trips. It seems good and strong with 10 year guarantee which is good enough for me,, seems strong enough.I didn't realise it came from Germany but even so arrived within 4 days

I got this new case, because my old 'delsey' case was too narrow to fit in my ski helmet. This is wide enough to get it in with ease, and is very roomy, so I can get everything in withoutresorting to use up my hand baggage. Very sturdy and well made, so much better than those cheappolycarbonate cases, if a little heavier.

I bought this suitcase specifically for carrying lots of stuff to a new home 2 flights and 3,000 km away from my previous home. I chose the basic model over the Aeris Comfort because I didn't need partitions. The suitcase is well designed and manufactured and easy to pull on 2 wheels or pull-push on 4 wheels.

20.3.2017

Maybe not the most fashionable design but rugged and great at resisting the best efforts of airports and airlines.I have one which has done 60+ long hauls and is a bit rough in some spaces but still strong as ever. The handles extend to two lengths. The wheels are good. The handle takes a full 40kg weight.

I was told never buy a case with a zip and after my recent travels I can see why. This case is very sturdy and survived a number of baggage handlers, unlike some other suitcases I saw on the carousel,smashed...Expensive but you get what you pay for it is easy to manoeuvre, not too heavy and reliable

Goes a bit “supermarket trolley” when it’s full. Also a bit more squishy than I’d like. Not as robust as earlier samsonite suitcases but seems to have survived the last trip ok. Also very large, which is a plus but don’t lose sight on your baggage weight allowance.

Robust, super easy to pull, and very versatile. You can even sit on it when waiting for the bus, train or taxi.I always choose the solid, hard plastic suitcases rather that the light flexible shell style. This is a particularly good one.
