I ordered this pack of LED torches on a recommendation by a friend. He said, "...get a pack, they're very good value, useful for everything in and outdoors, and they give off a good light, much better than normal bulbs, and the batteries last a while". Pleased to report that these torches are as he reported, except I cannot vouch for the longevity of the batteries yet.The torches were purchased for various uses. One in each bedroom on the bedside tables for evening strolls across the landing to the lav. And one for the dark cupboards downstairs. My wife took one to work with her and used it for lighting up the pitch areas on her way home and was very pleased indeed with it...meaning I'llprobably be looking at getting some more. There are a couple of points (this is why one star got knocked off) I'd like to bring up. First is the stupid length of the so called 'wrist strap'. It's ridiculous. Wrist strap it most definitely is not! In fact, I think that it would be fair so suggest that this is actually an improper description based on the actual size of it and should be changed. For your information, the actual length of the attached 'strap' from the mini split ring connecting it to the torch to the end of the strap is 8cm. It gets worse; there is a cleat holding the strap together to create the 'loop' to supposedly stick a mit through, so the usable size (the aperture to stick a hand through) is just 10cm circumference. Hmm, if you have a wrist of under 10cm in circumference then you're not exactly average. I would imagine only a small child's hand would be able to slip through such a hole but not anyone else's. I am a biggish bloke and can get no more than two fingers through it side by side...just so you know. Also, the torch is too big for a key chain, so this seems to be a useless extra, unless you need to tie it to a bag or something....The other thing is that one of the three torches flickers when in use. It is quite infuriating as the light is bright and tinged blue. The other two torches are fine. You can see the flicker most of the time. I think it maybe something to do with the cheap contacts inside, highlighting the fact that these are budget torches. The 3 AAA batteries slip into a 'battery caddie' and the caddie is then inserted back into the torch cavity. The contacts are on the top and bottom of this caddie. All in all very useful. Good bright light that lights up a fairly wide area in pitch darkness (tested) but does not have any great distance.I think £2.50 would be a better price point for each torch, so £7.50 max for the pack. The batteries are giveaway budget affairs so cost peanuts to include, but better than having no batteries with it at all. But all said and done I'd probably buy another pack if I couldn't find a similar product cheaper. Bear in mind that for every torch it means replacing three x AAA batteries. So you may be better off buying some hybrid low drain, long life rechargeables to use with them...better for you and less impact on the environment...well I think so.

For the price, I wasn't expecting much but I have been impressed. The wife started nagging me for a torch after she'd broken my million candle power one after using it twice. I had a bit of a conundrum as I didn't want to throw good money down the drain. When she fell down the steps I'd built to make it easier for her to feed the chickens, true to form she blamed me for not having supplied her with a torch and for making the steps too irregular so she refused to feed the chickens any more. So, not wanting any harm to come to the chickens, I got her this set of torches to leave around the house in the hope that she'd find one of them on any occasion she required it. I was away when they arrived.Phone call 1."They're very small. How am I going to see anything with that?"Phone call 2. "Only one of them works."Phone call 3. "It works well. More than enough light."Phone call 4. "I've lost the one that works and fallen down the steps again."When I got home, I found the lost one on top of the hen house; thus I can sat they are rain proof. I put the batteries in the right way in the other 2; thus I can report a 100% success there. They do cast a good bit of light, but it is quite near field; perfect for walking from the car to the house or around the garden, or to have in the car in case of emergencies, but not so effective at picking out distant objects in the dark.

Very good torches, almost worthy of a 5* rating: only the fact that the screw-on battery lid is a little difficult to fasten on one of the torches; plus that the wrist-strap is far too small to get over your wrist let the product down. The torches are exactly as pictured, and are impressively bright for their size and light-weight. Also impressive is how durable the grippy-metal casing looks and feels (especially for such a low price): it really does seem excellent quality. The on/off button (on the base of the torch) is made from a grippy, rubber-like material and is quite large - so is easy to use at night or when wearing gloves. Also, their compact size and light-weight makes them ideal to just slip into your pocket (or handbag)or keep in your car for when you may need it. Also ideal for power-cuts.I would say that this product is very good value for money: this set of three cost me £9 (including batteries), and I have found similar torches in shops in the UK for £3-£5 EACH (usually NOT including batteries, and often not as good quality). In summary: a great set of three; very good value for money; cheap but suprisingly good quality; small and light; impressively good light-output. Definately a good buy.

I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for my last order....Over the past 3 years I have bought a total of 9 of these - i.e. 27 torches. They are so cheap that I can buy loads and leave them in cars, in the garden shed, by my bed and in the guest bedroom, give them to friends who are walking home at night, leave them at a house that we rent, leave a few at our daughter's wedding, etc. etc. Until my last order they have all worked perfectly, and the supplied batteries lasted a reasonable length of time. None of the previous ones have become faulty over the past 3 years.I think that amounts to outstanding reliability and value for money at this price - especially as the batteries are included!None have become hot or run out of battery too quickly,or the other faults other customers have mentioned. They are sturdily made and I've had no trouble fitting Duracell etc. replacement AAA batteries. They are not advertised as waterproof - so maybe that was a different torch. However, in my last order of 2 packs (6 torches) one had a faulty on/off switch. It's not worth the postage or the bother of sending it back. 1 in 27 faulty is pretty good, and the batteries were OK, so I can use them.

When I received the first set, one of the lights did not work at all, so Amazon replaced the set promptly. The second set worked perfectly and they are bright enough, compact enough to fit in most places, and because of the metal construction, they feel sturdy. They are not for use where you'd need high intensity lighting or for shining it onto an area at some distance away, but as a general purpose torch, they are perfectly adequate and they are quite bright for their size. The light spreads quite well, rather than being a spotlight type. They are a little fiddly to replace the top when replacing the battery - a little squeaky and easy to cross-thread it.My recommendation is not to force it if it does not go back on fairly smoothly (even though it would still feel squeaky) because it's likely to have ended up being cross-threaded. The battery compartment may stick in the case a little, although vigorous shaking dislodges it.For the price, it is a good set though, and if it were not for the broken one that I initially received, I would have given it 5 stars due to its cost/performance being good.

At approx £1.65 per torch, complete with batteries, this must surely be amazing value for money! I had previously bought the Rolson LED magnetic lamp with hook and was very satisfied with that purchase. These torches have a more concentrated light and like the other product are sufficiently compact to fit in a pocket. For the money the quality is very good and my only criticism relates to the screw thread which is used on the base of the torch to fit the batteries. Care is needed to avoid a crossed thread. Hopefully, the batteries will last a fair amount of time and when they become discharged it will probably be cheaper to junk the item and buy another one!If you especially want the silver coloured torches then you could be disappointed because I received a black torch and 2 dark grey torches. Personally, I think that these colours are more classy than the ones illustrated. I think that these torches would make a great present and few recipients would guess their real cost!

Clearly the vast majority of the 500-odd glowing reviews of this torch were written within a few days of receiving it...as opposed to the handful of people who subsequently discovered THAT YOU CAN'T FIND REPLACEMENT BATTERIES THAT FIT !!!I've tried Duracell, Energizer, Kodak (yes really!) and more Ni-MH batteries than you can shake a stick at....all of them have too large a diameter to fit into the torch once installed into the 3-battery carriage.I've emailed Rolson with this request....I'll update this review if I get an answer - UNTIL THEN, MAYBE CONSIDER AN ALTERNATIVE IF YOU WANT A MEDIUM-to-LONG TERM TORCH!!OK, UPDATE as promised: ROLSON have replaced both torches.Although these were fitted with the same 'Songtao' batteries, I am please to report that the torch body is now a slightly bigger diameter meaning that 'normal' AAA replacement batteries can fit. Great customer service from ROLSON, and good response to feedback from their design & production.

These wee torches are literally brilliant. I have several small LED torches that I've bought over the years, dotted around my flat because my area has had several blackouts over the 15 years I've lived here. These Rolson ones are by far the brightest I've ever had. I noted in looking through other buyers reviews that one person said the torches were rubbish because he couldn't get his Duracell batteries to fit - well I checked out these torches with both GP and Philips AAA batteries, and they fitted fine, the only thing I would say is to make sure that you push the batteries all the way in to the holders. I had one of the three torches not working when I first tried it,I couldn't see what was wrong with and was almost set to throw it out when it occurred to me that maybe one of the springs that make contact with the battery holder (one at each end of the torch) might be at fault - so I pulled them out a bit (gently) - and Hey Presto - the light was working.

Three handy LED torches that come complete with batteries (AAA).Useful and a nice small size to fit into your glovebox without it taking over the whole space. The LEDs are bright and do produce a good area of light (but best not used for distances, a larger bigger torch needed really). For walking in the dark and being able to see nearby a great useful torch.I bought the set as not only a good name Rolson but the price (on offer) appealed to me, as the batteries alone cost nearly if not the same as the set of torches. They all come with a strap so can be hung on a hook for whenever needed or just kept in your pocket as a nice size for pockets (one of my set lives in my pocket). Was looking at allmanner of torches to be able to keep an eye on my pigs in the evenings in the dark winter months and these have come up trumps in all expectations. Strong, hardwearing and a good light and all for a low cost.

Just bought and got 2 packs from Amazon, all six work fine and batteries (included) seem fine.Phenomenally good torches for very low price, and very bright. I got one maybe 6 years ago from a petrol station (looks absolutely identical but without the Rolson name and EC logo), still going strong dropped loads of times, got wet, and clenched in teeth. The battery carrier needs to be put in the right way (with the raised contact downwards, recessed contact visible before screwing lid with spring on; just be careful not to bend spring sideyways). Also if clicking button doesn't switch torch on, then click off and click button again firmly to switch it on - this is easier than shaking it about or banging torch against leg,and less painful!Buying another pack now for emergency use / power cuts for my industrial unit, plus clip-on Rolson and a pack with 2 torches and head torch.

Simple I suppose. The batteries supplied will not be quite as good as Duracell and the profit margins must be pared to the bone. precisely the same product is sold individually in Sainsbury's branded as RAC, without batteries, for £3.99. So you could say you are getting £12 of torches, along with 9 batteries which normally would cost around £6 so - £18 of goods for less than a fiver. This is value at its best. Rolson supply excellent tools; yes they are imported - what isn't? - so it's good to know these keep up the standard. Cannot recommend more highly. They are efficient, shine a great light, appear well made and tough, and are great for things like power cuts, which we get frequently. No street lights down our lane so wife and daughter now carry one in handbags. One spare for autistic son for use in outages. peace of mind for £4 -odd. Unbeatable.

Small, light and they come with batteries! Perfect to keep in the car as an emergency light.I also use it to provide additional light when inspecting small electronic components. Keep in mind, it won't turn the night into day and it's beam is really narrow, hence it's indented use should be as a spotlight rather than as a general flashlight. Why the four stars? One of the battery compartments was missing a bridge contact and as a result the flashlight was not working. Definite factory defect, as the piece was clearly missing, it was not broken and was not to be found in the package. I pondered about sending it back for exchange, however it was relatively easy to fix: I used a small metal spring and a piece of wire to patch the contact and a drop of glue to keep them at place. Voila, it and it is now working as expected.

Was looking at buying a torch for many uses around the home and camping, see these little beautys for an absolute bargain price so thought 'what have i got to lose?' receieved them within 3 days and am very impressed! They are very well made, have a push on/off button on the end and are very bright for their size (they are mini torches). An absolute bargain and they even come with batteries, which go into the torches in a neat little holder.Overall, very good, thought through product apart from the wrist strap, if it is that, hmmm more like a thumb strap but personally, i dont care, easy enough to put a carabiner or clip through the end. Will definately be buying more of these to keep in various places, car, shed etc...Buy it, for less then a tenner for 3 of them and free batteries you cant go wrong.Speagle.

A few sets of these and we have light for camping, power cuts, shining on splinters when using the tweezers, looking for wax in the missus' ears, peering down the 14-year-old's throat to see if it's infected, and great for reading the Sunday paper when we're in a hotel family room and I wake hours before the rest of them. Blimey they do moan if I put the light on!There are some similar torches where the body has a plastic grip which rotates then falls off, but NOT these! These are, I think, mainly aluminium. So far they have proved strong little units. The LED's are very bright and the AAA batteries (3, provided) last ages.Small enough to slip into a pocket - it takes enough of a push on the rubber end to switch the torch on that it won't come on accidentally.Good purchase. Excellent product!Who knew something this small could produce so much light ?I am still testing out the first one, which I bought 5 weeks ago. I have used it literally every night, for at least three times per night, for about 6 minutes at a time, and it has not dimmed as yet. However, the test will be when I travel abroad shortly. I have every confidence that this torch will be more than adequate. It really is extremely bright. It literally lights up the whole room. So, you can place it down on a surface in one part of the room, whilst rummaging around trying to find something in another part of the room. It is that effective! It is also very light-weight, but at the same time, very sturdy. It is small - about the size of a three-quarter packet of Extra Strong Mints.
