Really high quality item. The packaging, accessories and torch all have a premium feel to them.I was a little fed up of buying cheap LED torches that break within months, and lose power quickly. As with most items I buy, I decided to do some research and purchase a long-term item.LedLenser was frequently mentioned in reviews as one of the best brands in UK. I liked the look of their range, and website and so decided this was the brand for me!As for the model, there were quite a few to choose from! I opted for the P7R as it was incredibly well reviewed, and also quite compact. I bought this item on offer at £57, which I feel offered good value.My advice would be to buy at a similar price rather than buying lower spec models like the P7 (also a decent torch)Inside the box you get a wall-mount for the torch which is a nice touch. This can be linked to the charger, which is magnetic, so you always know where your torch is and that it'll be charged fully! The magnetic hold from the charger feels nice and strong, and secures the torch nicely. If i had a criticism of the P7R it'd be in this area. The cables supplied only support USB charging - so you'd need to wall mount near a USB socket, or use some form of adaptor (which I always worry about doing due to voltages).The torch itself is great, feels like a solid metal construction, but the weight is fair. I'd say less than 250g. I have medium sized (male) hands and this fits nicely. The 1000 lumens stated is hard to test but I can confirm it has a great brightness, and when using the focus feature on the torch (basically push the top of torch forward with your fingers to focus the beam angles) the reach of this is substantial, bright and satisfying. So much so that after walking back from pub with my Uncle and a friend I found they'd both purchased the same item the next day because it was so much better than what they were used to.Like most Li-ion driven items the battery lasts ages with moderate usage, the P7R uses 1x rechargeable 18650 battery, this also has IPX4 protection - which should guard it from damage in the rain.The torch has 3x power modes low, mid and "power" - it'll also automatically set to a low beam if battery is very low, just enough light to get you home in the dark!!The package also includes a wrist-strap, 3M stickies for wall mounting and a torch pouch so you could attach this to your belt. All fitter into a nice, quality Ledlenser box.All in all a very solid buy. If you can get it on sale like I did, I think it offers good value. This is backed up by their (Ledlenser) 7 year guarantee on this item. (I think is 5 years if you don't register). That timeframe should buy you some assurances that spending the extra cash on a quality item is worth the cash outlay long-term (I used to just buy new LED cheapo torches and throw away when inevitably broke - incredibly wasteful). 5*'s from me.

This looks & feels like a good quality torch.The wide to narrow beam adjustment is by way of a sliding (not rotating) lens, smooth operation. When at it's widest the light is very even.The lamp has two modes, high intensity / low intensity. Switching on & off and between modes is controlled by a single button-press switch at the opposite end to the lens.It is supplied with batteries (4x AAA) and a wrist landyard.Simple & effective.Around the lens are a series of designed holes, these show a red light (at right angles to the main beam) , this gives an attractive look , but would also alert you to the torch being switched-on if placed lens-down on a flat surface.Update Oct2020: The torch has had a very gentle life ,with only occasional short use. Kept in a 'safe' environment, however, it failed to illuminate at all recently. Think it was time to change the batteries I removed the battery pack (takes a 'nest' of four batteries in a cylindrical holder) and found that the holder was broken in four places. I have no idea how this occurred. I checked the batteries on a meter, all had good charge. I was surprised and disappointed at the battery holder being badly broken (it is a 'skeleton' style holder with thin plastic struts). I checked the Ledlenser web site I saw the product had a five year warranty, following there warranty claim instructions I was impressed to receive a new battery pack and switch assembly by return of post. Good customer service but reduced to 4 stars due to the lack of resilience in the battery pack. I have other torches (Maglite) that are as serviceable today as they were when I bought them 30 years ago and they have not had a gentle life!

After owning my P2 for a couple of years I thought it about time I wrote a review. I actually have two of these torches (gave one to my girlfriend), one advertised as an LED Lenser and this one which is a Ledco. They are actually both identical even down to the engraved text on the body. The Ledco did come in a nice presentation box though. A minor point to mention is that the presentation boxed version is better because the pocket clip is detached rather than fitted as it was in the tester packed version. If like me you don't want to use the clip, there is a risk of scratching the paint finish when removing it. So how good is it. Well I have to say that I was immediately impressed by the amount of light it gave out.You have to remember that this is not a three D cell 'mega torch', but for something having just one AAA battery it is quite amazing. The run time is excellent having not had to replace the battery yet, though it is used more as an emergency standby than an everyday torch. It's seen us through bonfire night and some late night walks! I also have a P3 which is similar apart from the fatter lens assembly. The P3 is slightly brighter than the P2 but this is only noticeable when side by side with the P2. The P3 also has a distinct ring of light around its beam footprint, the P2 having a nicer beam shape. The P3 focusing is by pulling the front lens back and forth, the P2 is by rotation which although requires a bit more effort, has a more sure feel. I prefer this P2 over the P3 because it is less bulky, has a nicer light and just feels right. This makes it one of my favourite gadgets. It may seem expensive for such a tiny thing but it is worth it.

For several years I have been using the previous version of this torch and was very pleased with it. My husband decided to buy me this upgraded version because it’s brighter and therefore potentially safer. And it is brighter, the quality of the light is excellent. However I can’t use this device thanks to the inclusion of a ring of blinding red light dots which has been fashioned into the outer rim. In darkness or near darkness the effect of these red lights is blinding and in less than a minute I developed a headache and was seeing blobs in my eyes. On the first outing I had to immediately switch off the torch and finish my evening jog in darkness. I can’t figure out why this red ring of dots has been included,unless it’s something to do with heat dissipation? For that reason I probably won’t resort to the solution of wrapping a piece of gaffer tape around the end to cover the offending area, and will regrettably return the torch instead. I suspect anybody who is photosensitive or who is a migraine sufferer will find this one a no-go (unless the red ring of dots can be turned off somehow?).EDIT: I've now upgraded this review to 4 stars. I decided to apply a band of black electrical tape to cover the red dots which were giving me a headache. After testing extensively I can say the area concerned does not get hot at all (or even warm) therefore I can enjoy my torch as intended.

Maybe I've been quite harsh in knocking off a star, but couldn't bring myself to leave five in view of the price. Build quality is excellent, and I'm sure the focusing mechanism is superior to others, but the performance experienced is not. The annoying image of the led can be focused out, and a bright hot spot obtained in the middle of the beam, which is a plus point for my photographic needs. However it's only a central hot spot, and the surrounding illumination means I still can't get the very small isolated dot of light I was hoping for.It's only fair to say that the above criticism is a very subjective thing, relating as it does to my very specific and probably unusual requirements,and most probably the vast majority of people wouldn't have any issue with it. However, while the build quality is excellent, as one would expect from the brand, the light output isn't that high compared to other similar torches, and it doesn't have much by way of a range of functions. Furthermore, battery choice is linited to four AAA batteries, and you don't appear to be able to use one whammy and rechargable 18650 as with so many other comparable torches.Having put forward my observations, I'd summarise that if you want a high quality compact torch with just a basic specification, no flashing type tricks, AND you have deep pockets, this would a very good little torch for you.

We wanted a torch that gave us various brightness settings, was water-resistant during very harsh weather, had an overall very bright light power setting when needed, and one that lasted a long time - even on full power.This torch did it all.We use torches for two main reasons.One is when we are outdoors on what we call mini expeditions day and night in remote places with our dog.The other is when we perform professional paranormal investigations can last all night 'from dusk 'til dawn' (no pun intended) which usually take place in very remote and dark locations.This means that we needed a reliable torch and the much cheaper Chinese-made options always seemed like good value at first BUTinvariably so many of them have failed us now that we decided to buy a LED Lenser each.We are very glad that we did.This is an excellent torch, a perfect compact size and a very bright light output when needed.Also, it is VERY well made and should last us a long time even with very regular and prolonged use.The carrying pouch and wrist lanyard are also high quality and the right size, even when using gloves.A TIP. Use high-capacity1100 mah rechargeable AAA batteries to get the best performance time from this torch.These batteries easily more than double, and sometimes triple the advertised maximum burn time on full beam.Highly recommended.

Bought elsewhere but the same thing...so don't start Amazon.No it isn't expensive. Check out alternatives and you'll see that most (quality) 18650/ 1000 lumen torches are similarly priced...A cartel? Surely not...in the Uk?...never!A lot of sniffy rubbish gets talked about on the Flashlight forums regarding Led Lenser. Their products are no different to any others however.This lamplight is small, bright, and functional. I've been through many torches, in a work environment...so I know a little about them. Led lensers are as good as anything else...sometimes good and sometimes not so'... down to a friday build in Beijing no doubt, and operator care comes into it too.It has good power for walking outdoors and lower settings for close up work (too much power just reflects back at you and causes eye strain and stress ). Even when walking you don't need massive oomph to avoid missteps and dog ..er...mess in outdoor darkness. It is handy if you need to find something...anywhere...in the dark.It does a proper job and does it well. I bought two, for a few pence less...elsewhere, they're that good.

The light output is good. No complaint there. It is what it is meant to do. However, getting the light output is a different matter: the switch is sloppy and too-long in its action.It looks good, with smooth lines and a perfect surface finish. The materials appear to be of good quality.Unfortunately, those smooth lines and slick finish make it not so secure in the hand.The lack of grip on the body accentuates the problems with the action of the switch and makes it almost as annoying to operate as those cheap LED torches which have the flashing modes that no-one will use 99.99% of the time. (This one doesn't have those modes.)It only gets three stars from me because the light output is good - and I have nothing other than a £15 torch to compare it to.The user interface is really poor. I cannot recommend this torch at this price.Edit: I contacted LED Lenser and they promptly sent me a replacement end cap (the switch part) which is definitely better than the original one, so it goes up to four stars.

Superb brightness. Don't shine this in someones eyes as they won't be your friend afterwards. Everything about this torch is superb. The light output, the build quality, the ease of operation and even the battery life is pretty good considering the maximum light output. I have a P7, P7.2 P5 etc and this one ( the rechargeable one) is easily the brightest and the battery last longest too :)The only downside and it's a minor one, is when I read it could recharge via a USB output, I thought it might have a Micro usb input under a rubber cap. But you can only recharge it using the docking cradle as the concentric rings on the on/off button are the charging contacts. Having said that it,snaps into place on the charger very easily thanks to the magnetic holder and can mount to a wall. You can even remove the charging cap from the cradle and carry that as your USB charging device, meaning that it isn't much bigger than carrying around a USB cable for the job.10/10 Best torch I have ever used full stop.

What a fantastic torch ❤️After owning a different torch for many years which I thought was great torch turns out to completely rubbish compared to this bad boy. The light the ( led lenser p7 ) gives out is out of this world I was truly blow away how bright this bad boy was. It’s solidly made from great German aircraft aluminium it’s a game changer ? I’ve noticed people complaining about the screw cap for the battery compartment that why can’t get theirs undone but let me reassure you it’s only light because there is a rubber o-ring in place to stop it getting water into the battery compartment. The 7years warranty is fantastic had no problem registering the problem for the warranty.The back button is a easy 3 click button going from high/medium/low. The quick focus is truly well made just slide it to focus your beam or slide it to use it as a flood light. If your thinking about buying one of these p7 torch I would so recommend it. I’m gonna be buying another one for my dad as he loves mine.

Bought this Ledlenser 501046 P7 Professional LED Torch to replace some unbranded ones that I had used for Caching but eventually they all all failed to work. I already have a Ledlenser rechargeable head torch which was ultra bright and very reliable.When I received the P7, I was very impressed by the presentation box it came in and that it had a useful carry case for attaching to your belt. The P7 has a satisfying weight to it, being manufactured from a quality metal and feels very comfortable in the hand.When I inserted the batteries and switched it on, I couldn't believe how bright it was and how far the beam reached.It has a beautifully smooth zoom from flood to distant illumination.I am a bit of a torch nerd and have had a collection of cheap torches over the years but none can compete with the P7. It's not cheap but as they say, you get what you pay for, and in this case, you get a lot.Thoroughly recommended.

I've used this torch daily for months now and highly recommend it. The brightest mode is fantastic, I would say it's effective to around 150m on a full charge. The one-handed zoom from flood to long-range is really easy to use and useful in dynamic situations or just to avoid blinding people. The build quality is good: I've dropped it onto tarmac a couple of times which it has survived with no problems. The pouch seems sturdy, I carry it on my belt and find it easy to draw the torch quickly one-handed and put it away without looking. The pouch has never come off accidentally, thanks to the double-locking button/velcro combo.Only 4 stars for "lightweight" because with 4xAAA batteries and an all-metal construction it's not really a lightweight torch,although it is very comfortable in the hand - it's a heavy duty, solid, reliable torch for anyone who is serious about seeing a long way in the dark.

This review is about the quad colour version of Ledlenser's P7 range, the P7QC. I bought this because it comes with a multi-colour LED and you can select the colour of the light by twisting the torch head. This is useful for astronomy because your eyes are less sensitive to red light and this is important in maintaining your night vision while gazing at the night sky. The main switch is large and nice to operate (even with gloves on) and enables you to select between high power, low power and strobe function. Note that because you twist this head to select the colour, this Ledlenser doesn't have the beam focussing function that other Ledlenser torches provide. The quality is top notch,and it feels nice in the hand. This particular model also works great with NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries which is what I use all the time now. I'd give this a 5-star rating if it was a little cheaper.

This gets a 5* rating on all levels, I got P17.2 several years ago,I was converted to ledlenser from that point on. The craftsmanship is awesome, and the optics make a noticeable difference to conventional torches. The p7R was no different next day delivery via prime? I purchased this as the p17.2 is a 3 x d cell size and a little too heavy for my wild camp bag, that said it’s amazing for a good long night walk with my doberman.The p7R is just a much smaller version with a rechargeable floating(magnetic) dock which comes with some strong 3m sticky pads to attach wherever convenient. All in all it’s a bright little bugger, built well,with a handy land yard and Carry case for belt attachment.if your currently trying to decide if it’s worth shelling out the ££‘s for this brand of torch all I can say is you will not regret it. They truly are the doggies doo dars! ?⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I bought this torch to replace 2 AA Mini Maglites which had become unusable. This item greatly surpasses the performance of those, it is quite compact and fits in the hand perfectly. The zoom from flood to spot is more easily achieved than with the Maglites. It has 3 levels of illumination which should suit all situations. It appears to be well engineered and robust. Unscrewing the battery case can be a little hard to do but I found a light coat of silicone from an aerosol applied with a cotton bud on the thread and rubber seal alleviated this problem to a great extent. It also comes with wrist strap, nylon belt pouch and a 7 year guarantee (given upon registration),non registration gives a 5 year one.This torch has also made my 4D Cell Maglite redundant, it really is the only torch one needs. I have absolutely no regrets about my purchase, wish I had bought it sooner.
