A bold statement in the title but I really mean 'a leap forward ...' considering that LED is easy on battery drain. But this product comes with more goodies - robust aluminium body, light-weight, very bright (what we need from a torch), splash resistant and overall a stylish design. I liked it so much I also got for young scouts in the family who need a torch from time to time.My only tiny gripe is that I wish it had a holder of some sort, or at least a lid cover but that won't dent my 5* rating. Water-proof could also be a good selling point but this torch is tagged as splash proof. There should also be a 'health warning'

For the price this torch is very bright and robust. I dropped it down the stairs after knocking it out of the loft door. When I retrieved it at the bottom of the stairs only 1 LED didn't work. I dropped it a second time a little later onto a metal bracket of a large fan's stand and the LED started working again. A torch that fixes itself! I've used it numerous times for 5-10 minutes a pop and it's still as bright as when I first got it so the LED's seem to be good at not using up the power too quickly as well. Feels well built and solid. Brought a couple of other LED torches with different uses in mind and this one is bar far the best for the price.

Having a torch in the house is a must, in my opinion. I looked up for a suitable one (considered even Magnalite as I really am quality mad) and boy, have I found it. Brilliant little gem, that is - and heck, it is lightning bright! Aluminium casing, rubber-capped button and not power-hungry - all I wanted and looked for, and with a nice price tag. Bought two, regret that only two - one got snatched immediately by 10-year old daughter as her bedside equipment (chose this hand-held one over Energizer Pro-Headlight 4 LED which I love for DIY applications) - that says all, doesn't it?

Excellent for navigating the house at night when I can't switch on the lights for whatever reason. Simple operation - one click and it just lights up like an old flaslight instead of having to click through several different useless brightness mode settings plus strobe and SOS. The button is where its supposed to be - on the barrel under your thumb instead of being at the back where you can only work it by holding it like a dagger that you're about to stab someone with. Very solidly made. Pocket sized. Great little flashlight.

I wanted a torch that would give a nice broad beam suitable for illuminating a dark path when walking at night and this fits the bill perfectly. It's broad beam is much brighter than I would have expected yet it is compact enough to slip easily into your pocket. The aluminium body feels good quality and the on-off button has a nice action. Very satisfied and happy to recommend it.

This torch is smaller than I was expecting but still a good product. The light beam is extremely bright. It totally out performed an old, much larger, armour plated torch with a single bulb that I had been using for years. That went straight into the recycling bin. I will be ordering another one of these small torches. It proves that size doesn't matter!

Hands down the best torch I have ever owned. Threw all my others away after comparing their weight, light output and size to this torch. It is extraordinarily bright but is relatively compact. It doesn't require massive batteries like my old one so is also smaller and lighter. It beat all the other torches I had by miles.

Great little torch...don't expect a powerful spot light but is surprisingly bright for what it is. Fantastic to keep in your pocket coming home in the dark so your not hunting for the right door key for ages. Lights up a room very well....ordered another one for my wife.

A nice well made bright torch for the price ideal as an emergency one in the homeor the glovebox in the car. I think the LEDs could be delicate if you drop it but there are lotsof them so it would still work and the price is right!!

Disappointed at first, then discovered that the batteries I had installed were used. Tried new batteries and wow what a difference. So as long as your batteries are in good condition this is a great torch.

Am very impressed with the brightness of this torch. didn't realise how old and dim my last torch was (admittedly i'd had it for about 10 years) - as soon as i switched this one on i was so impressed!

Great item if only a little small, how ever it will fit in your pocket easy and is great when walking dog or just having in your car. Wood be nice if sold a bigger one, However wood perches again

I bought two and am not disappointed. The illuminate the backyard at night so that I can actually see where I am going and what's ahead of me. Very bright. Love them.

Torch has a good rugged outdoor feel and brightens the night sky. Nice battery shark cage keeps things simple when changing batteries.

Very bright light at a very reasonable price. I have had this a year today and the batteries and torch are still working perfectly.
