This mini torch is handy to keep in the car. It's not the brightest torch but it can prove useful and prevent groping around in the dark!It charges in a standard car 12v socket and seems to work fine and be reasonable robust. Mine did a full cycle in my jeans' pocket in our washing machine - and still works!I now leave the torch in the 12v socket as it switches off with the ignition. However, beware, in some cars the 12v socket remains active even with the ignition off. In this case, to prevent running the car battery down, you should remove the torch from the socket when not driving. From my experience, it retains a charge for a considerable period of time.So,

Not used torch yet other than to turn on and to charge it. On the side of the torch are 2 protruding spring like 'ears', which I expected to move in/out as you slide into car power socket, but they don't move. This stopped the torch being inserted at all. I used a pair of pliers to gently crush the 'ears' so that it fitted in the power socket. It now fits very tightly, but charges okay. Inside the power socket, on the sides, are 4 large holes. I have to be very careful how I push the torch into the power socket as if the 'ears' go into the holes I don't think the torch will ever come out again!

This is a vast improvement to what I think is the original one that doesn’t have a spring loaded contact at the bottom of the light. This one will fit all cigarette lighter sockets, including new ones that have a recessed centre contact. The light is bright and I always carry one in my outdoor coats. Easily charged - just pop into a car lighter socket.

I was a bit disappointed to read that the torch was not to be left in the socket when engine is switched off. One of my reasons for purchasing this item was that I assumed I could leave it connected and at hand.

Nice item at first I thought a little on the expensive side, but is really handy device to have at hand in those hours of need, now have one in each family vehicle.

Ideal for emergency use... could be used for minor maintenance on car ... robustly made... good light for the size of Torch...

Very handy no cables, straight into the lighter socket. Gives a good spread of light for a small torch.!

i bought one for considerable cheaper than on here and its lasted its a brilliant little torch.

This little torch works great .there should be one in every car toolbox. A great stock filler.
