Great real. A bit of thought has gone into this reel. Lever handle is flush with surface of the reel, Thus preventing the line hooking under the lever, preventing line breaking. A really good drag system. And retractable harness lugs, making it a smooth outer casing. All in all a very good reel.

for Alaska if you want big game and don't wanna pay out the booty this is the bare minimum.I got the ld30 for trolling and this for the bottom fishing. ppl have used my reels and love them. too bad they can't set a hook.shout out to the author of "dirklus" on kindle - bad a$$

Get the 60LD and be the envy of all your friends! True story! Reel works very well and holds a boat load of line. Keep in mind though, you have to set the LD to free spool BEFORE using the spool tensioner, otherwise it will throw off the drag. Spoken from experience, sadly.

I anticipated it since I placed the order and I knew this is the one I wanted and TODAY OCTOBER 06 2014 is my birthday and what a gift, feels like a young boy again. now I cant wait to take it with me so we can catch some fish together THANK YOU amazon and ABC

This is a very nice Penn reel. I got it at a good price also. I have only used it once and I like the retrieve rate and smooth operation of the drag. I am going to buy a heavier rod to pair it up with for the next time we go out fishing.

Bought this as a gift for my son, very smooth retrieve and the retractable “switchblade” rings that you clip in on is a great feature when not in use. For the money it’s a great reel.

I have no regrets, purchasing this Reel, It has caught numerous big fish effortlessly. I recommend this drag to any fisherman that wants a very smooth experience on the water.

I returned this product because it did not meet my needs for kayak fishing. But, it is a well built reel that if I owned a boat would be at the top of my "buy it now list."

Excellent value and look for the money. Works perfect for those albacore offshore and other big game inshore. Triple drag sounders work great and feel is nice

Great reel. Could only spoil about 500 yards of 100lb braid and topped with 25 yds of mono but handles great. Smooth reel. No problem landing catch.

All I know is my father has fished his whole life and he's 86 now. He wanted this for Xmas '19. So I know this is a good buy if he wanted it.

First time out I was able to really test its strength with a 4 1/2 foot Blacktip and it held up great! Strong reel, definitely recommended.

Nice reel especially for the price. Has held up to a few months of abuse in Baja. Love the lever drag when fighting large fish.

I really like the new design, casts great and has a very smooth drag even at the higher setting. I have 4 of these now.

Super satisfied. Took a little getting used to, but works well with rod I paired it with. Will be buying another soon.
