Having splashed out on an iPhone X, I wanted a case that would do it justice in terms both of looks and level of protection. My initial choice was Apple's leather folio case. Without going into too many details, I was disappointed both in the utility and durability of this case when considering its very high price. After much consideration as to a suitable replacement, I eventually opted for Otterbox's Strada case. On balance, I am glad that I did so, albeit it is not without its niggles. I had a firm requirement for a foilo/wallet style case as I dislike stick on screen protectors but nevertheless wanted decent protection for the iPhone X's lovely (and delicate) screen.I was attracted to the Otterbox owing to their reputation for protective cases and the Strada looked to be a good combination of protection without excess bulk. For those of you who want a case which lets you leave your wallet at home, this is not the case for you (in my opinion). Whilst the inside of the front cover has a slit within which a card could be stored. I would say that this is the extent of what it could reasonably hold. For those of you with multiple bank/credit/store cards, this won't cut it. On the plus side, the minimal storage capacity leaves the front of the case pleasantly unbulky, which is what I personally was after. The front and rear exterior of the case is leather effect, with a hard plastic border around the edges and, on the rear, around the camera insert. Having previously used Apple's leather folio case, the leather effect material does not scream quality, but I expect that it will withstand day to day wear considerably better than Apple's offering. There is stitching around the edge of the case and a metal section in the middle right edge which bears the Otterbox logo. All in all, its attractive enough in an understated way but won't win you any envious glances (if any phone case does). The front cover includes a cut out in the top middle for the speaker. Nice to be able to use the phone for calls with the cover closed. Not something I could do with Apple's folio. The cover closes magnetically, with a small magnet in the tab on the right hand side which attaches to the Otterbox branded metal section. Pleasingly, when you tuck the front cover round the back, the tab with the magnet still makes contact with the metal section, holding the front cover in place. The phone buttons have corresponding 'bumps' on the exterior of the case. In this case (ha), the Apply folio wins with its machined metal buttons. That said, with the Strada case you need to apply too much extra pressure to change volume etc. A further niggle is the fact that opening closing the case doesn't automatically switch the screen on/off like the Apple folio does. I find it annoying having to constantly manually switch the screen off (when I even remember to do so).My final niggle is perhaps slightly unfair. The hard plastic which surrounds the edge of the case is slightly thicker than I expected it to be. While this is no bad thing in terms of protecting your precious phone, it has the unfortunate side effect of making it impossible to use my existing desktop charging stand as the lightning connector is too short to reach the phone through the case. That said, there's no reason I can't splash out more money on a new wireless charging stand to solve this issue (grumble, grumble). I suppose that on balance, I'm glad to have the extra protection as I have managed to drop my phone on several occasions since purchasing this case and it is no worse for the experience. Finally, I'd comment on the price. I got this case for approximately 20% of the cost of a new Apple folio case. Notwithstanding my niggles, its a bargain at this price. It may not be the world's fanciest case, but its good quality, a nice balance of protection vs bulk and a very reasonable price to boot. Recommended.

After dropping the phone on day 5 without a case and having my heart in my mouth, it was time to put the phone in it’s case before something worse happened.Despite the fantastic look and feel of the iPhone X I decided I didn’t really want to chance it. I normally go for cases which just protect the back and sides, and just protrude slightly. Which in hindsight aren’t great cases if it lands screen side down at an angle or hits a stone or something, smashed screen for sure.So for my X I decided to go for a full wrap around flip front case, not only that I wanted something that clearly had a bit of bulk to it.After a bit of research I went for the OtterBox series which had,had some fine reviews on a number of sites.Of course it was difficult to trust reviews at the time as the iPhone X had only been out for less than a week. How many of the customer reviews were legit? None of the major Apple sites had yet to get their case reviews up. Although since a number now have, the Otterbox Strada Series for the iPhone X has been picking up some fine reviews. At time of purchase the case cost £36.37 which compared to prices I’ve paid for cases in the past is quite a significant amount. However when you’ve got one of the most expensive phones money can buy, that apparently also smashes pretty easily, skimping on a case seems like a really stupid thing to do.The case is pretty much full on plastic with a faux leather type back and front. The back is very strong as are all the sides. The front is slightly more bendy than the back, but not that much, it still feels pretty stiff, and although I'm not going to do any drop tests, I am confident that at least from hip height the the phone would feel well protected. The front case stays in place by a small magnetic clip. There's also space to keep bank cards and what not, but I'm not sure why anyone would want to do this personally, especially when there's a small magnet nearby. Doesn't seem a good idea for those strips on the back of our cards! The depth of the case is also good, allowing the protruding camera lens to be protected as well assuming it doesn't land on anything that just happens to be pointing upwards right at the point of the camera lens. An added bonus means the phone now lies flat on a desk!It weighs pretty much next to nothing, and despite the bulk of the case, it doesn't really feel that it adds to much size to the phone. No one is really going to know you've got an iPhone X in your hand either until you use it, so a little bit of added security, obviously this may also be a down side if you like to show off, but in which case you're probably using the phone naked anyway and stumped up for AppleCare. The side buttons you do need to give a bit of a decent push in order to press them, but that's no real biggie really. The only major complaint is perhaps that in an ideal world the front flip would actually be on the other side, in order to not be on the same side as the volume buttons which can also be used as buttons to take photos. Meaning you need to hold the front flip up with your finger in order to use those buttons to take photos, something which is much easier to do that trying to press the on screen button. Flipping the front flap all the way over also obviously blanks the camera out completely, but that's to be expected regardless of what side they put it.Overall I'm really pleased with this case and would recommend it for anyone that is feeling they need some decent protection for their iPhone X

After 1+ Year Review: TL;DR: Meh on the aesthetics, but wow - the practical benefits (protection, and card holder): 5 stars. After 2 weeks Review: TL;DR: Love the aesthetics, and the practical benefits (protection, and card holder): 5 stars. After 1+ Year Review (Long)By far the best part about this case is the protection it offers. I have dropped the phone with the case on onto solid ground, which should have damaged the phone in every conceivable measure. (This includes dropping it from a speeding bicycle) I am glad to report that my phone looks brand new - even to this day. I have a friend who has the same phone, with the same case, who reports the sameIt also has a slot for cards.I consistently put 3 cards there (credit, debit, and library card) and I am glad to report that it hasn't worn out the slot. In hindsight, I didn't need to carry all that cards (Samsung Pay) and in my experience, I haven't come across any vendor (restaurants, hair salon etc) that doesn't support contact-less in the last year or so. Maybe the occasional cash withdrawal from the ATM, but I'm glad to know that they're there. The look is rather dull - it's a dull black blob that makes my sleek phone thick. Love or hate about the flip to open - I can't have it docked onto a stand but it has saved my phone when it fell (the flip closed as it fell.) In practical terms, I use this when I'm on the move, (or when I go out) and swap it out for a stylish case I prefer when in "safer" environment like office (where the carpet can protect the fall, the height is likely to be less than 80cm etc)Cannot recommend enough for the protection it offers - 5 stars. After 2 weeks Review (Long)I've been using this case for 2 weeks everyday. I appreciate the look of it (rather stylish) it holds 1 card (can hold up to 2, but didn't want to wear it out) I have ditched the wallet since I have Samsung Pay in the phone - but I've also been cashless since 2011.It feels sturdy so I feel reassured that even when I drop it, it won't break. I can't comment on its actual protective abilities though something I hope not to find out.The form factor is the reason I love it and I hate it - the flip part protects the screen no matter how it falls. It also gets in my hands' way so I take it off on when I get home. Would not dare leave 5 feet from my desk or room without it on though. 5 stars.

For no reason that I can think of, my two year old Samsung S7 started to bulge in the middle. I decided that this was not going to be a good thing and replaced it with a S8.This of course meant that some of my existing accessories also needed replacing and my highest priority was to get a new case. Given the fragility of the S8, I felt that the case needed to enclose the whole phone but must also allow wireless charging. After a bit of looking around, I settled on the tan coloured Otterbox even though it was a bit more expensive. It looks good and I am generally very pleased. The whole phone is encased apart from apertures at the bottom for the headphone socket, microphone, media speaker and USB socket. There is also an opening at the back for the camera, flash and fingerprint senor. On that subject, I couldn't get the fingerprint sensor to accept my fingerprint with the case on (but that may just be me as I can never get fingerprint sensors to work reliably on any of the phones or tablets that I have tried). There is also a small hole in the front cover for the speaker so you could still use the S8 as a phone with the case closed (although I am not sure how you would answer an incoming call). It took a while to get used to the magnetic catch on the case as it does not lie flat on the side of the phone when it is closed. This seems to be intentional and the magnet is strong enough to keep the front cover in place. The front cover can be folded all the way to the back although this will prevent use of the rear camera/torch/fingerprints.Volume and power buttons do not have holes; instead there are tiny bulges which exactly match the locations of the respective buttons. It takes a little while to get used to them but they work well.In case you were wondering, there is no magnetic sensor to turn the screen on when the front cover is opened but I don't know if Samsung even support that function. For me, the main thing was that the wireless charger still worked and it keeps my phone in pristine condition. The one thing I haven't tried is dropping the phone from a height of 1m on to concrete to see how well the case protects it. If it ever happens, I will update this review and let you know how well it worked. As always, if I encounter any problems then I will update this review.

Ive always been a little unsure when it has come to cases. Im very choosy, much like a woman with her handbag or purse. If youre gonna choose a nice phone and spend lots of money then dont be scroungy with the case! This case cost me £25 on Amazon and there was only one other that I would have gone for which was the Snakehive which cost even more. Ive got a Samsung S10 so not messing about, youre only going to drop your phone once with a rubbish case and its game over.Pros:Fits well and the front has a magnet which keeps the flap open or closed when youre using it. I havent dropped it yet but it feels secure and sturdy,is real leather and have the confidence that if I was to drop it by accident then it would be safe. The flip covers the front of the phone screen well and the magnet is strong enough that it doesnt undo so easily that it may accidentally open up while sat on your desk or in your car. The flap is also quite thick so even if it was in your pocket and you hit the corner of a desk or some drawers then chances are your phone screen is ok.The parts where the buttons are covered on your phone are durable and work well. You have to press a little harder than you would but thats the price you pay for having peace of mind.Makes your phone look very business like and professional looking.Cons:The flap isnt magnetised so the screen doesnt go off like the samsung cases. This means that you have to either turn the screen off yourself or let the timeout do its thing. The magnet for keeping the flap open or closed is something you have to be aware of if you are placing it near screens or things which may be affected. Ive not tested this theory, I just know magnets and IT stuff dont mix.Case makes the phone more chunky but its a trade off. I would rather a more chunky positive feeling phone than one Im scared to drop but looks cool. This case does add some weight to your phone but not so much its a brick. The case doesnt fold back so that it sits up. You can fold the flap back and where it folds it raises along that edge so you have a small lift if required.Overall worth the purchase - dont try and scrimp on a case.....youll regret it after you drop your phone for the first time.

Having just had to replace my Samsung Galaxy S9+ after the screen smashed to bits from rather stupidly having no case and dropping it onto the pavement, I was looking for a robust but aesthetically pleasing case that didn't add too much bulk but provided good protection from drops and scrapes.I haven't used an Otterbox case before but had heard great things about them and really liked the look of this model in the 'Expresso' finish. I almost didn't buy it though as there seemed to be a fair few low-scoring reviews here on Amazon with complaints about the microphone. I then read through all the reviews very carefully and noticed that all of the low scoring reviews are for iPhone models andrelate mainly to the microphone being muffled/poor sound quality through the cases imposed restrictions, but the Samsung Galaxy versions all had positive reviews. This left me no reason not to try it and I couldn't be happier with my case for the Galaxy S9+. It fits perfectly, doesn't add much bulk or weight at all, it looks really good (much better than a lot of cheaper options I've seen on other peoples phones and has a professional feel and look to it which I was looking for), and most importantly it does seem offer great protection - I dropped my phone twice in quick succession in the park recently whilst stupidly trying to juggle two dogs, a child, my phone and an ice-cream and it doesn't have a scrape on it!Beyond this though I can't even really imagine dropping my phone outside of such silly occasions as above because now when just holding my phone (and not four other things at the same time) it now feels like it's part of me/stuck to my hand - the case provides a very natural, solid grip which makes it very difficult to drop.I've only had the case for two weeks but if the quality holds up over time (beyond expected wear and tear) then I'd have no reason to go elsewhere in the future if it ever needs to be replaced and would definitely recommend this as a great mid-range, quality phone cover for your Galaxy S9+ if you're looking for a case that looks the part but also offers good protection.

I was torn between this case and the Moshi-Sense Hardcover case but the Strada is a better case for numerous reasons. I really love my new case and think it looks smart. I cant really vouch for the drop protection and i am hoping i never have to find out if this case will save it from a great height but it dose seem to be well crafted and robust. The magnet works well and you know that it is going to stay closed. Unfortunately you cant get access to the mute button unless you open the case but i personally don't find this to be an issue. I did have to bend the cover backwards several times to soften the leather so that the cover sits better when holding it for a call but i am sure the leather will soften more over time.It took me along time to choose a case and i must have looked at fifty or sixty different ones before choosing the OtterBox Strada. I couldn't be happier and i am glad i chose this one. Some people will say you can only fit one card in the slot and it dose not support itself like an ipad case dose when open to watch movies etc and i do agree its a shame but a lot of these improvements have been brought to the iphone 6s plus Strada case and hopefully over time they will find a way to bring these improvements to the 6s case and others too. Its a wonderful case and i couldn't recommend it highly enough. Hope this helps people in making a decision. It works well with the JETech Tempered Glass Screen protector too which was extremely easy to apply and with no bubbles. The glass dose not go all the way to the edges but thats because the new iphones taper at the edge. Thanks. C

After finally killing of my i5 though using and abusing the boss finally let me upgrade with a dire warning not to trash this so though i'd best get a case with decent impact protection. I didn't however want to carry a rucksack just for my phone and wanted something a bit more stylish. The perfect solution was the Otterbox Strada. Otterbox build and impact protection while looking good. I'll admit at first the case feels strange in the hand as the 'cradle' for the phone is made of plastic to provide the necessary impact protection but it then does have a leather panel on the back and the cover and hinge are all leather albeit a more hard wearing/harder then you might expect from the usual leather cases.(My friend has had 2 belkin cases like this that have worn in weeks however so think this is a better trade off) The phone 'snaps' into place very reassuringly with full access to all the buttons and with the cover closed you can still use the volume up/down keys.As an added benefit of this case (intentional or not) the cover is very rigid so when closed it provides impact protection for the screen as the cover actually sits clear of the glass by a good few mm. Would highly recommend, although it is worth noting that a single card OR a few notes can be carried in the sleeve anything more causes the cover to push against the screen and the magnet won't hold it closed.

So despite there being no reviews for this case on the Galaxy S8 at the the time, the good reviews for the S7 version spurred me on to purchase one and it does not dissapoint. The case is feels incredibly premium and robust, honestly i feel if i was to launch it at a wall the wall would come off worse!I've been using it for a good few months now and my S8 doesn't even have a scratch on it and that's without a screen protector. The only draw back i have found so far and i know some people may be picky about this is that it isn't a really a case with an iron cast grip on it, its smooth but well designed. The clasp works perfect on mine and I've had no issues with it which i can see other have withthe older cases. My previous case was a Spigen Neo Hybrid for my S6 Edge and despite me loving that case too i have to say i have enjoyed having the OtterBox more.If you have an expensive phone like mine (Galaxy S8) i highly recommend buying this case for the price its WELL worth it.

This is the best case to protect your phone for the following reasons. The phone sits inside the case and has enough rubber protection on the corners for every day little accidentsThe back of the phone is also protected as well as the camera lens. The phones screen is also protected as the case has a front cover and even if it comes open when dropped the phone is below the level of the case so it should be ok.The case front cover has a magnet to keep it closed to protect the phone in your pocket. The front cover closes but does not touch the screen and if you do not use the one card slot your screen will be safe from any abrasive damage to the screen as is the case with some covers that have 2or 3 card slots touching your screen. The best thing about this cover is the quality and it looks expensive.I am confident that my phone is protected as well as it can be so the need for any sort of screen protector is absolutely not necessary .I can not recommend this case highly enough.

Now. I've always been tight with cases. Never, ever spending more than £10. Even though I spend £800 on a phone. I thought I'd splash out with a bit of christmas money and give this ago. I've had it three months now.The outside is a lovely brown. It's not pristine and it marks, but it all adds to the appeal. I love the fact I can close it when talking to someone and they can still hear me. Saves me having to mess around with a flap. The magnet holds the case shut and even hold the case open it you fold it around the back.Since I have had it I have dropped the phone twice onto concrete. It doesn't have any marks, not even on the case. The plastic is thick enough to protect the phone. All of the buttons work fine and are not hindered by the case. The ONLY issue is that you cannot stand the case up. Say, when watching Youtube or similar. Gets a bit annoying sometimes.Overall I love this case and am so glad I spent the money. Never again will I scrimp.

Received this today and it's exactly what I was after!Been a massive fan of Otterbox and their cases for years, ever since owning the first Galaxy Note and a plethora of phones thereafter!I didn't want a bulky hard case for my S8 Plus and with me going 'naked' and not using a screen protector (as we all know the mobiles with these screens don't accommodate screen protectors very well); I wanted a decent case that will offer great protection all roundI had bought this case alongside the UAG Metropolis Feather Light case as well; but that's been returned due to the front cover being very flimsy and having no trust in it staying where it needs to be to protect the screen, even with the magnetic closure tab.Whereas this Otterbox case closes with a satisfying 'snap' of the magnetic closure and it holds the front cover down firmly!Well done Otterbox; once again you've shown how to do cases properly!

The Otter Box Strada is a fantastic case, I rate it so highly I’ve just brought a second one.I brought the first one nearly 3 years ago and being a painter and decorator it gets paint and dust thrown at it almost daily, I’ve dropped it more than a dozen times and my iPhone 7 is still as good as new. This case is built to last. When the case is new it’s quite stiff and it can be hard to get your bank card out but it soon wears in nicely like a pair of new trainers.I have to clean out the ports from time to time but I’ve had cases’s in the past with bungs that protect the ports and they always break off and can be a faff to pick out when needing to plug in the charger or earphones.I never bother with screen protectors (I’m terrible at putting them on)as this case has kept my screen looking new.So the first case outlasted my 2yr contract so this new case will surely outlast the life of the phone!

I had an iPhone 5 for 3 years before scratching up the glass by dropping it onto a concrete floor a couple of weeks ago. So I thought it was time to upgrade to a 6s and actually invest in a decent case with a cover. Well, I got the new phone last week and this case on the same day. The next day I brought both into work (assembled) and was showing my work colleague the phone when it bounced out of my hand onto the same concrete floor. The first hit was on one of the corners. It then landed face down with the cover open. Luckily, there were no scratches on either the case or the phone and it still worked. The extra height on the plastic surrounding the phone had protected it from debris on the floor. So I will heartily give this case 5/5 stars. The delivery was quick too and I liked the packaging for the case - I don't know why but I was chuffed with the magnet that held the case in the box.

Very nice ‘old’ looking leather. Am sure will become even better with use. Sprayed it with leather-care for bags and shoes, before fitting phone inside, to minimize stains and marks. So far so good, about Does collect the odd scratch, but this adds to the authenticity of the leather. Perfect fit for S9 with glass screen protector fitted. You just need to apply a little extra pressure on power key (adjustable in settings), otherwise all buttons work with ease. Magnetic catch works well to keep case closed, and also open. Clever. Slim fitting. Not a Smart Cover, does not activate screen nor turn it off, which would’ve been nice, but only a minor improvement. Compliments the S9,but hides the gorgeous purple colour. Excellent fingerprint cutout. S9 works every time with security set for fingerprints. Definitely a phone improvement, but this case really helps too. Would recommend this case.
