I just got my iPhone XS and I'm keen to avoid that £££ bill if I drop it on the floor.I had a wallet case on my old iPhone 6s and i used to chuck it about and generally take poor car of it. The wallet cases (I got through 5) took a beating but the phone survived for over 4 years with only cosmetic marks. I have also got used to not carrying a separate wallet. On the other hand - I really like the look of this phone and don't want to immediately hide it inside a bulky case. Perhaps there is a way of protecting the phone without hiding it?I couldn't decide and I've bought this case and also a thin clear plastic case so I can try both out.If you're having a similar quandary check out my review on the ESR Clear Case. The Review:It arrived the day after I ordered - I quite like the packaging. The build quality is pretty sturdy, leather outer, hard plastic back / rubbery plastic front, metal band and faux suede inner. I can see the seams in the plastic from the manufacturing process if I look closely - a small niggle. The leather can easily be scratched up with my nails. I should probably just cut my nails. The phone fits tightly and everything is positioned well as expected. The card holder is a little tricky to get cards in and out of. I tested it with 2 cards and a bank note in and it does close but I think it'll need to bed in as the magnet wanted to pop open (these always stretch and bed in)Here's the clever bit - the front flap of the case fits within the chunky outer frame so it does not add extra bulk on top of the protective case. My old wallet cases and this is actually thinner as a result despite this phone being thicker to start off with! Also the cards sit in a recessed area and are not jammed up against the phone screen so (hopefully) no more scuffed up phone screen. The front cover folds around the back and the magnet snaps onto the metal band on the back - this is good as I no longer have to deal with the flappy...flap thing I used to have on old covers. The 'hinge' part of the leather cover does crinkle up when you fold it round, not sure how this will age but I'm not sure I'll spend much time looking at my phone like this either.I have to admit that the thick protective case does take away from the elegance of the phone itself. when I put my phone in there I no longer have a snazzy new iPhone, I have an 'Otterbox' which is not nearly as impressive. Also it adds more bulk to the phone which is noticeable when using it, I can no longer reach the "Settings" app with my dumb for instance. There's the flap which you have to deal with when using the phone and can be annoying when taking pictures (this is nothing new to me though) Large handed people might appreciate having the larger sides, it definitely feels more secure to hold than the bare phone.A friend told me that it's a big phone already so putting it in a case would mean that it was no longer pocketable. I'm happy to say that this has not turned out so. It's not really worse than my old iPhone 6s with wallet case, although I might try and switch to 1 card as 2 cards is giving it a bit of a 'bulgy' appearance.iPhone XS Dimensions: 7x69x142mmOtterbox, iPhone XS, 2 cards & £20 note: 15x77x150mmPrevious wallet case, iPhone 6s, 2 cards & £20 note: 16x75x142mmVerdict - For now I've decided to try and get by with the clear plastic case as I want to enjoy (and show off) my new phone. I'm taking the Otterbox with me in my bag as a backup incase I have any scares with the thin plastic one and decide that I can't be trusted with such little phone protection.I'll probably switch to the Otterbox once the New Phone novelty wears off and I get bored of carrying a separate wallet. It seems like a well made and well thought out case for a good price.I'll try and return to add a longer-term review once I've given it a field test.

This case provides an excellent solution for protecting the iPhone 6S.The level of protection is good. The sides of the case rise to protect the screen from face down impacts. The phone is held securely. The access ports, camera and speaker are recessed with a chamfer to ensure protection without compromising access with the body of the case. The wake/sleep and volume buttons are covered by the case body but can be easily operated. The silent switch is not covered, but accessible in the same way as the ports. The function of the phone is in no way compromised by the case and the weight added, though discernible, only adds to the feeling of substance rather than suggesting bloat.I was concerned about the quality of the leather before purchasing the case. This was unfounded. The leather fits beautifully to the body and - surprisingly - does not look out of place against the plastic elements of the case. The stitching is not noticeably contrast - the colour is more accurately described as grey rather than white. The detailing is more subtle than the photographs suggest.I was also concerned about the fit of the folio flap and the security of the magnetic closure. Other cases with this design have had a great deal of vertical and lateral movement in the hinge and weak closures that spring open under pressure. This case has none of these problems. The closure is secure even when the case is dropped. The leather hinge has the correct amount of resistance - i.e. slightly too much spring at present, which I anticipate will ease with continuing use. The flap has minimal unwanted movement. This may change with use and if it does so I will add an addendum to this review. The card slot can easily accommodate a single card and a single note. This does not compromise the closure of the case. The card is not easy to remove, though again I expect that this will change with time and use. I would not consider this case to be a wallet replacement, but perhaps it may be useful to carry a regularly used card, such as an Oyster or main debit/credit card. Finally, the branding of the case is remarkably subtle. The photographs make the 'Otterbox' cartouche appear more garish and obtrusive than it is. Something to be thankful for.Overall I consider the design/production of this case to be better considered and more successful than the iPhone 6S it contains.

When I received my new Samsung S7 edge I thought this phone looks expensive and very fragile. I read multiple accounts on the internet of broken screens from minor bumps and drops. With my previous history of breaking phone screens I wouldn't even dream about taking it out of the house without a good case.I tried other combinations of cases and screen protectors but could not find anything that gave me the confidence that the phone would be protected enough. When the Otterbox Strada arrived I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the case. Right from the start I was impressed with the packaging and the presentation, it felt like I had received a rather special case. I cant overstate the feeling quality, protection and attention to detail. The case is wrapped in premium leather which has been reinforced to protect the screen. The stitching is very neat and helps make the case look very stylish. The cover is held by a magnetic clasp which can hold the cover in both positions opened or closed. The magnet feels strong enough to keep the lid closed if the phone is dropped. There is a pocket for a credit card and a cut out for the earpiece, allowing calls whilst the case is still closed.Inside the case is a bumper style case which snugly holds the phone. It is quite a tight fit so I don't think it will be possible to fit a screen protector, Maybe a plastic screen protector could be trimmed to fit. I feel the cover/bumper offers enough protection for the screen though, The bumper is thick and covers all sides of the phone. There are raised areas at the top and bottom of the phone to protect the screen if it is dropped whilst the cover is open. Even with the bumper the edge functions work well. The cut outs line up perfectly and the buttons work well, a little stiff but I am sure they will wear in.The back of the phone is protected by the same material used for the bumper and covered with leather. There is a large cut out for the camera lens and flash which is also well protected by the back of the case.I feel that the level of protection offered by this case is very impressive and yet the case still manages to stay fairly slim. I am sure there are cases out there that can provide more protection but I am equally sure that they would be to bulky to use everyday and would not look/feel so good.I cant recommend this product enough.

I was torn between this case and the Moshi-Sense Hardcover case but the Strada is a better case for numerous reasons. I really love my new case and think it looks smart. I cant really vouch for the drop protection and i am hoping i never have to find out if this case will save it from a great height but it dose seem to be well crafted and robust. The magnet works well and you know that it is going to stay closed. Unfortunately you cant get access to the mute button unless you open the case but i personally don't find this to be an issue. I did have to bend the cover backwards several times to soften the leather so that the cover sits better when holding it for a call but i am sure the leather will soften more over time.It took me along time to choose a case and i must have looked at fifty or sixty different ones before choosing the OtterBox Strada. I couldn't be happier and i am glad i chose this one. Some people will say you can only fit one card in the slot and it dose not support itself like an ipad case dose when open to watch movies etc and i do agree its a shame but a lot of these improvements have been brought to the iphone 6s plus Strada case and hopefully over time they will find a way to bring these improvements to the 6s case and others too. Its a wonderful case and i couldn't recommend it highly enough. Hope this helps people in making a decision. It works well with the JETech Tempered Glass Screen protector too which was extremely easy to apply and with no bubbles. The glass dose not go all the way to the edges but thats because the new iphones taper at the edge. Thanks. C

I've had this fitted some time now, so this is a long term review. The case fits perfectly and offers 100% protection to the phones edges, with the obvious exception of the socket cut outs. This is important to me, I am sad enough that I don't want the sides scratched by coming into contact with keys or coins in my pocket. I was surprised how many more expensive cases do not offer similar protection (including Samsung's own case). It grips very firmly and is very robust. I have dropped the phone twice from waist height and the phone and case sustained no damage at all, so it's already proved it's worth. It does affect the screen protector. I bought a relatively expensive glass protector, and the sides lifted when I installed the phone in the case. This is a known issue with Edge phones, indeed some screen protector sellers make a point of warning against this. It was liveable with, as the case offers full protection anyway, so I left it for 3 months until dirt started to collect on the exposed rear of it. I then fitted a Klearlook item available on Amazon which fitted with no problems. What did impress me when I removed the phone was there was absolutely no dirt between it and the case, proving that the case provides a total seal. In the past other cases have caused scratches on the rear of my phones by allowing dirt between the two which then rubs against he phone. No issues here. All in all I would definitely recommend the case, and would like to buy from this manufacturer when I next change my handset. Fully deserving of 5 stars.

After finally killing of my i5 though using and abusing the boss finally let me upgrade with a dire warning not to trash this so though i'd best get a case with decent impact protection. I didn't however want to carry a rucksack just for my phone and wanted something a bit more stylish. The perfect solution was the Otterbox Strada. Otterbox build and impact protection while looking good. I'll admit at first the case feels strange in the hand as the 'cradle' for the phone is made of plastic to provide the necessary impact protection but it then does have a leather panel on the back and the cover and hinge are all leather albeit a more hard wearing/harder then you might expect from the usual leather cases.(My friend has had 2 belkin cases like this that have worn in weeks however so think this is a better trade off) The phone 'snaps' into place very reassuringly with full access to all the buttons and with the cover closed you can still use the volume up/down keys.As an added benefit of this case (intentional or not) the cover is very rigid so when closed it provides impact protection for the screen as the cover actually sits clear of the glass by a good few mm. Would highly recommend, although it is worth noting that a single card OR a few notes can be carried in the sleeve anything more causes the cover to push against the screen and the magnet won't hold it closed.

I bought this to protect my wife's new iPhone 6s.She had an "Otterbox defender" on her old iPhone 5, but she wanted something less bulky and more stylish.(I use an "Otterbox defender" on my 6s, as being an engineer, I need extra protection)The case is just as described. The iPhone fits into it easily(part of the sides and base are flexible rubber to assist in fitting but without detracting from the protection). The leather is good quality, and looks as good as it feels. All ports are accessible with the case on, and the flip over screen protector with magnetic catch is just the thing. My wife loves it, and can't say enough good things about it.Looks good, feels good, doesn't add too much extra bulk and more importantly protects the phone from damage. One point. I would think twice about putting a credit card in the available slot. I can see the iPhone screen getting minor scratches if you don't have an additional screen protector fitted.Would I buy again... yes. Thanks for reading, and I hope some information was useful. It is was, I'd appreciate a click on "yes" against "Was this review helpful to you" below.

If you're flinching at the price of this case and thinking about buying something a bit cheaper you should reconsider. I made the same mistake with a cheaper alternative which wasn't fit for purpose. A 5 quid case for a 550 quid phone? Don't do it. Buy this. As soon as you pop your your S7 Edge into the snug inner case and wrap the front cover around that precious curved OLED screen you know where the money has gone. It fits like a glove, like a fine tailored suit, made to measure. It looks great and feels great but doesn't add too much bulk. After using for a few days my only criticism is that the volume buttons are tricky to locate and use. The power button on the opposite side is fine as it is raised slightly. Why they didn't repeat this design for volume I'm not sure but to he honest It's a minor problem. You've probably found out by now that finding and fitting screen protectors for the S7 Edge is tricky and not really ideal but with a case like this you don't need one which means you still get to enjoy using this phone as was intended but with total peace of mind. I highly recommend!

I got my first iPhone Otterbox many years ago (possibly even for an iPhone 3GS) and that promised total protection, but was built like an army vehicle -- it was a massive rubber case that probably tripled the size of your phone and, whilst there was no way that your phone would ever get damaged whilst in it, it was so bulky and the screen lost so much sensitivity that it rather destroyed the whole point of having a slim, sleek iPhone.Fast-forward many years, and this Strada series folio is much-changed from that early Otterbox, but still offers a fantastic level of protection. The rubber moulding round the edge is very low-profile, and the bulk of the case is made of thin leather that protects, but also a) adds little bulk, and b) looks pretty good. It's great to have such a relatively lightweight case, and whilst it may not offer quite the reassurance as the original military-grade Otterbox, it's still a really good thing indeed -- and quite essential, bearing in mind that an iPhone XS will set you back over £1000, so it seems silly to scrimp and save on a case. Very good indeed.

Great case and cover to protect my investment, I bought it to stop me from autodialling relatives abroad so a money saver for me.Haven't worked out what the space between the back of the phone and the case is all about, could be an impact zone or for a spare £10 for emergencies.Suits me as a man with medium/large handsPlus points;Robust, well designed, great fit and good materials throughout. I had a cheaper cover for a different Galaxy where the plastics broke up after a few months, I do not foresee this happening with this product.Qi charging still works through the cover.Side buttons and ports accessible and easy to use.Touch/wireless card payment technology still works.Magnetic closure very effective.Minus points;Makes the S7 a bit chunky,as the S7 is pretty thin I didn't mind, but others may do.Hides the S7 great looks.Inner card/credit card pocket a bit tight and I could make use of it. However the fabric is so tough it took the beating I gave it to insert and remove a credit card without any visible damage.

I bought this case knowing that I needed it, but not being sure I'd actually commit to using it (or any case because it's a beautiful phone you don't really want to cover up). But I was really impressed with the case, and I think that it actually complements the phone, not take away from its beauty. The magnet works fine, too. Which was one of the things I was worried about after reading some of the comments on here. I've had no issue with mine, and I've had it for about 6 weeks.I haven't dropped my phone yet, so I can't say how protective the case would be, but from the feel of it, it feels pretty solid and it covers the top and bottom of the phone, as well as the curved edges, without getting in the way of interacting with the screen. It's quite expensive for a case, but in my opinion it was worth every penny. The only negative remark I can think of, is that it still lets dust in, so you'll still find yourself giving the screen a wipe over a couple of times a day, if you like to have a shiny looking screen.

Bought both the Otterbox Strada, in black, and the UAG Metropolis case so I could compare them against each other and see which was best. Both are good choices but the Otterbox beats the UAG for overall protection IMO. Main reason is protection aroud the edges where, apparently, my Samsung s8 plus is susceptible to damage. And the fact that the UAG front cover fails to close squarely because of the way its attached to the rear, only half the length of the phone. The Otterbox on the other hand is dam near perfect. No scrub that, it is perfect. I can't think of anything I would change about it. It doesn't add that much bulk to the phone. And the case looks and feels up to protecting it.It looks smart too. I have previously paid good money for Noreve brand leather cases for my phones and tablets. And for good reason as they are a quality product. But their offering for the Samsung s8 also fell short in the protection area. I think I made the right choice though. Otterbox fan now.

This review is for the Strada Series Folio for iPhone XR.I've had so many phones over the years, and always used either Otterbox or Thule - because I know they work. Never smashed a phone yet! This Otterbox Strada case has a leather flap that protects the screen, while the back of it is a solid hard plastic reinforced case - true Otterbox. The leather comes all the way back so the whole thing is like a little leather folio. There are no sleeves or pockets for things like cards, so the case stays relatively thin.Me personally, i'm not a massive fan of the flap as I find it annoying, and you can't really cut it off as it's all integrated as one piece of leather. However,I do like that it's a subtle but strong magnet that keeps it closed, and it does work as good screen protection, with a soft almost fleece-like reverse side on the leather. It's certainly a well made product, and if you like the folio style, it won't disappoint.

Just received this case today. In short: Excellent build quality, classy looking, and I would highly recommend this case to anyone who is seeking the ultimate in protection for their expensive investment. In response to all of the negative comments about the size of the case, and how it ruins the sleek, slim lines of the iphone 6, I'll just say this: If you really want a phone that's as thin as a razor blade, the utmost in 'style' and 'chic', and you aren't fazed at having to regularly fork out a fortune to repair your phone when you drop it (which is inevitable), then this case isn't for you. Indeed, why bother to buy a case at all?Fact: This case does indeed double the thickness of the phone, and it also slightly increases the length and width.Fact: It provides superb protection, makes the phone easier to grip, and with it's leather stitched finish, looks pretty cool as well (IMHO).Buy it now. There's nothing better!

This review is based on having used this case for over 4 months.I really love this case. It looks great on my phone.I use my phone a lot for both personal and business. I wouldn’t say I throw my phone around a lot but it is often knocked and left to rattle around in my handbag with keys and a lot of other stuff. The case looks nearly new still. The leather looks amazing with no deep scratches. The stitching has also held up with no frayed edges or looseness. The buttons work perfectly through the leather for volume and rubber for the lock button.I have dropped my phone 3-4 times into the floor from standing height both with the case open and closed and I haven’t had any damage to my phone (Idon’t have a screen protector). This case is also quite discreet compared to other cases I have had. This case has been worth every penny. If for any reason I need a new case I will without doubt purchase this one again.
