My husband has a smaller carry-on Osprey bag that he absolutely loves, so I was eager to try out the larger rolling duffel. It has quickly become my favorite large suitcase for traveling, where "large" is defined as "too big to carry on a plane, even a larger plane." The exterior is composed of a rugged nylon that the manufacturer terms "water-resistant," but I suspect it would take a monsoon for anything to get inside. The zippers--the usual suspect where leakage occurs--are "double-flapped," meaning there's two layers of water-resistant material covering the zippers, but facing in opposite directions. You basically would have to submerge the bag in water for any fluids to get past that barrier. The interior is huge; with exterior dimensions of 31 1/2" x 17" x 14",and the flexible exterior, you can cram a LOT of clothing and belongings inside. The interior has two zippered mesh pockets and two compression straps. There's also a smallish separate zippered compartment at the top/end of the bag (near the retractable handle) where you can stash your liquids, important papers/wallet/phone, etc.Although large, the entire bag is fairly light, thanks to the aluminum frame, weighing less than 8 pounds when empty. The extendable handle is rugged yet extends and retracts smoothly and easily, which is a feature I admire greatly about this bag. One of my pet peeves is rolling luggage where you have to fuss over and wiggle the handle seemingly endlessly to get it to go back down, usually when people are waiting behind you impatiently. This just never happens with the Osprey.Another feature I admired greatly about the Osprey bag are the numerous padded handles (five total) positioned at every side/end of the bag, so that you can grab it from just about any angle and lift it comfortably. A concealed "tow strap" can be wiggled out to allow hooking another backpack, purse, or smaller duffel to make carrying easier. There are also other numerous sturdy canvas loops that can serve as attachment points for securing other items.I would be remiss if I didn't mention another of my favorite aspects of the Osprey rolling duffel: The base/foot of the duffel is covered by a hard plastic shell (which incorporates yet another handy carrying handle). What this means is that--unlike several other rolling duffels I have owned--if you set it upright, it stays upright. I've never had mine tip over, and it would be difficult to imagine a scenario in which it would. This is especially convenient when you're in crowded quarters and don't want the bag taking up lots of floor space. This is not an inexpensive bag (at the time of writing this review, it was listed at around $270). But after many decades of traveling with a wide range of cheaper vs. better luggage, I have concluded that luggage is one category where it pays to spend more upfront for a high quality, well-made item that will last a long time and hold up to rugged use than it is to have a cheap suitcase that will fall apart after a trip or two. The Osprey comes with the "All-Mighty Guarantee," which promises--and I quote--to "repair for any reason, free of charge, any damage or defect in our product, whether it was purchased in 1974 or yesterday." I truly respect a company that stands behind their products to such an extent, and it speaks well of the longevity and manufacturing quality of their luggage that they are able to offer such a guarantee. Our family tries to avoid checking luggage whenever possible, so our first choice on any trip would be the Osprey Rolling Transporter 40, which is carry-on compatible. But if we're going on a long trip or someplace requiring lots of bulky winter clothing where we can't get away with a smaller bag, we'll rely on the Osprey 90.

We LOVE this duffel bag! Finally a heavy duty, water resistant, duffel with wheels to match. Look no further if you're looking for a rugged, rolling bag.I have several North Face Base Camp Duffel bags in varying sizes and love them; however, I needed something with wheels that was equally rugged and could stand my use and abuse. I found it in this Osprey pack. I've used many Osprey packs over the years- backpacks, child carriers, day packs- and have loved them all. Their warranty is top notch, the quality is always second to none, and they last forever! I've yet to have an issue with any of my Osprey packs. The wheels on this are rigid but large enough to easily roll over semi-rough terrain. The zippers and large and sturdy, and the material is incredible durable. On top of that, the Kingfisher Blue is a wonderful color. My wife even commented on how pretty the bag is in this color.Yes, the price is high, but I have no doubts that this bag will last ages- and you don't need to doubt it either. Osprey has an amazing "All Mighty Guarantee" where they will repair any damage or defect for any reason free of charge.I highly recommend this product!

This bag doesn't have much of it's own organization (one outside pocket and the large main compartment that has two mesh pockets on the "lid"), but you can get an awful lot of stuff in it. Took it on a 2 week trip to Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos and it worked very well. I use packing cubes to organize my stuff the way I like it so having only the one big compartment wasn't a problem. We stuffed our damp swimming suits in the top outside pocket and that kept them away from the rest of the clothes. Only downside is that the outside got pretty dirty and it shows up a lot on the blue color. I haven't tried to scrub it down yet. But hey, it looks well used now...

It's beast in that it's very sturdy, well-built, thoughtful, and very practical. Already taken it on a coupe of cross-country flights and my favorite feature is the color. In a sea of black roller bags this is super easy to spot. It has a nice easy zipper and plenty of storage. Its big enough for me to reach the 50 lb limit so I always carry a hand scale to make sure I don't go over. The wheels are nice and big and have been helpful in parking lots. It has plenty of handles that come in handy when removing it from the luggage carousel. I'm impressed and very happy with this bag.

A no frills hard use design. We all know how hard airports can be on our luggage. It survived and still looks good and ready to take on more. Even getting hauled and tossed around in the Arizona heat. Wheels? Smoothest and most durable I've used. Waterproof? Yup, keeps stuff dry. I questioned the handle that booms out. Even took a hard spill. It's still straight and operates like it is brand new. I only wish there were more organizational pockets on the inside. All in all, an awesome duffel that hauls a lot of gear and stands up to the rigors of travel.

My wife and I finally got a chance to use this bag and we love it. It works really great with packing cubes, and you can fit a ton of stuff in it. The rollers work well and the handle is pretty diesel. When we arrived at our hotel it was raining and the bell hop took a little bit to give us hand with our bags. A feature that is the strap that allows you to connect a small carryon or laptop case. This kept all of our stuff dry from the 5-10 min. of rain that it was exposed to. I highly recommend this bag.

This bag can take plenty of abuse. After five flights in five weeks, being dragged around various cities and falling over a few times when I wasn't paying attention there is minimal markings on the bag and a few scrapes on the plastic. I am very impressed. Plenty of room but not so much that you bring every piece of clothing you own! One minor criticism is that the pocket at the top of the bag isn't lockable. Like I said, a minor criticism. I recommend it.

Pretty bad a$$ bag. Expensive but unique and rugged except it does get some airline transport belt scars easily. The material gets wear easily. So be prepared to tell yourself that now your bag has character... because it’s true. Handles are also super rugged too. Oh. And beware the 120l version of this bag. It will be oversized technically and usually way overweight if packed out.

Big and roomy. Perfect for a cruise or week long travel...fits everything. I used it with packing cubes and everything was in order and fit well. The external compartment and the pockets on the flap were useful for the afterthougts. The wheels and frame are rugged and can take a beating. The shell provided protection against the environment. Will buy another one to complement.

The osprey bag is well made. Osprey have used very strong material which is very resistant to being chucked around an airport. The sturdy wheels make this a breeze when being pulled along and has plenty of handles to grab quickly of the luggage carousel. I am sure this bag will last the test of time

This new duffel bag was greatly admired. I have just returned from a ski trip and the bag did everything that I could have asked for. The 90L took helmet and 1 ski boot. (The other boot I put into a small bag for the overhead locker. The all round grab handles were just terrific. Thank you Osprey.

This is a pretty nice bag with plenty of capacity if you are taking 50 pounds or less on a plane. Rolls easily and the aluminum frame seems reasonably light and sturdy. Nylon constructions is supposed to keep water off. Bright color stands out from the ubiquitous black at the baggage carousel.

28.7.2018

Great color. Six handles altogether. If standing upright on the wheel base the rain would pour into the pocket zipper plus the base isn't very wide, so the bag could easily tip. But I think it will work as a whole.

Very pleased with this case. It was delivered quickly and a good price. The quality is typically Osprey as one would expect from them. The description is also as described so a great choice.
