I chose these binoculars for large exit pupil and eye relief. My intent is view without eye strain, primarily terrestrial views. They work great. Set for nominal focus, anyone in the house here can just grab a quick look without adjusting anything, spectacles or not.The size and heft of these binoculars helps to steady the hand-held view. We can see several moons of Jupiter using these hand-held. Astro always leaves me wanting more magnification, but that would need a tripod. The web has photos of any astro object of interest. The boats, birds and bunnies around here are uniquely local. The view through these binoculars is clear and sharp. Distant views are slightly blurred by thermal activity in the air. This limits the usefulness of higher magnification. It seems Steve Jobs 'thin & light' mantra has ruined everything. Binoculars with big exit pupil is hard to find. The big clunky 7x50 binoculars from many years ago are easy to use. Modern 'thin&light' binoculars provide impressive view thru a miserably small pinhole. Most of the large binoculars also have large magnification so the view is still thru a pinhole. Big exit pupil is not just for astro use.

These are terrific binoculars. The large aperture size and the 10.5x makes for beautiful views. I have been frustrated by the smoky skies out west since I purchased these, but on those few clear moonless nights, the views of the milky way have been spectacular. They are heavy, and with 10.5 magnification, that can be an issue.I do use a binocular stand, and I would recommend doing so. These are very well made, a real sense of precision and durability and quality. The hard padded case is a really nice bonus. It looks relatively well made. The view of the Andromeda galaxy through these binoculars is truly spectacular. The combination of light-gathering power and magnification (for a sense of its shape)provided a unique perspective of Andromeda through these binoculars, makes for a truly "wow" experience. The only true negative is that I could not believe how poorly packaged these were by Amazon. The box had a single plastic padding and the box was ripping open when it arrived. I mean, come on!! Fortunately, these come in a nicely padded casel, so they were okay. Bt geez!

A fine pair of binos. I use them exclusively for night-sky viewing, where they excel. Daytime (or terrestrial) viewing is less impressive and not quite worth the large size and heavy weight. One of the eye-cups has partially detached, but all else remain intact. The case, while not quite up to nuclear standards, is a definite amenity. My advice to those considering this product is to seriously consider and compare the importance of magnification and usability. I have experienced the 16x70 (or is it 15x70?) and they are magnificent, but for brief periods only – they are heavy and very difficult to keep still. The 10x70 are far more stable, but e.g. when viewing Orion's Belt nebula, offer more than a bit less wow. I seriously considered the greater magnification option, but didn't want to fuss with a monopod or tripod. Approximately a year after purchasing this product, it remains a prized and magical possession. If it's in your budget, I'd recommend it, at either magnification.

Material is very good quality, this binoculars feel very strong and I am very confident they are water proof (but I am ok if they are rainy proof) and also I like it that the scopes are very comfortable to the eye, image is very crystal clear and you are able to even spot Jupiter moons! Of course, at some degree as this is not a telescope but still.
