I already have a mushroom knife, but when I saw the Opinel for sale on Amazon, I simply had to add that to my collection.The knife is simply beautifully made, with the blade just the right shape for cutting. What the description doesn't tell you is that there's a locking ring to lock the blade either open or closed, and also a serrated edge on the top edge of the blade for scraping off ingrained dirt.As with any knife, the blade should be thoroughly cleaned and dried after use to prevent rust.

bought as a gift, the first one we had to return as it was too stiff to open, no problems getting a replacement which arrive just in time!It is good quality and cuts the mushrooms smoothly, and the brush is very useful for removing the bits of earth not required with the mushroom. THe handle is a good shape making the knife easy to use and the blade the right shape for cutting a mushroom without crushing it.

This knife was developed by Opinel specifically for the collection and preparation of mushrooms. With the fine, curved Sandvik stainless steel blade with serrated back mushrooms can be skinned easily. At the end of the handle made of natural, lacquered beech wood is a brush made of boar bristles, with which you can easily brush off soil residues of the mushrooms.

Opinel in general make excellent knives. Simple, well made and finished. This knife is very comfortable in the hand and reasonably sharp. Of course, if you take a little time to sharpen it further you'll have yourself a top notch blade for mushroom picking. Was gift for my wife and we were both very happy with it.

Come April and May I become a crazed morel hunter. This knife is not only beautiful but extremely useful! I used to just snap the mushrooms off at the base when I found them but now I can quickly cut them, dust off any bugs or debris and put them in my bag. A great knife at an amazing price!

I really have to say that this mushroom knife is designed well, made with high quality components and is a pleasure to work with. Something about Opinel's traditional style with the natural brush fiber, wood handle, and curved blade makes this a satisfying tool for harvesting mushrooms.

I bought the mushroom knife and leather holder for my daughter for Christmas after researching recommendations on several mushroom hunting blogs. The knife is of highest quality and the shipping was prompt. My daughter loved it. I would highly recommend this company and the knife.

I bought this as a gift for my brother, who's one of those people that go foraging in the wood for mushrooms (he knows what to look for). So I wasn't sure if he would use it, but am please to say, he thinks it's excellent and really well made - lost of brownie points for sister!

This is for those of you who like to go to the woods to pick mushrooms. the blade is extremely sharp as with all Opinel's and the brush on the back works a treat to get the soil of your prized truffle or Porcini. The blade has a locking ring to stop it closing on your fingers.

great product. great blade. great brush. my only problem is that in wet conditions the hinge on the blade has a tendency to bind. nit sure if the wood swells or debris gets in the way, but it is extremely difficult to open and close when wet.

This companies knives don't need reviewing as they are top quality and a world famous brand. I use this knife for shroom ink and also making feather sticks works a treat and a few swipes down the kitchen steel sorts it lovely jubbley

Bought this for my boyfriend who is into mushroom picking. He loves it, it looks good and Is a great quality knife, cuts with ease and the brush is very useful. Folds up to fit in your pocket, recommended...

This knife fits in the hand very nicely. The shape is just right for good blade control, which is nice because its very sharp. The bristles aren't too soft, or too stiff. This is a very good mushroom knife

Brilliant knife. Had a small problem with opening and closing,it looked kinda stuck. But after a week in dry drawer everything was back to normal. I think best product on the market for the price

Bought this as Christmas present for my brother who seemed very happy with it. He had never seen a Mushroom knief before. Now I think about it nor have I, but it seems very well made.
