The green/lime one is definitely brighter than the red one. They both work very nicely and will attract the attention of others while running in dusk/dawn/dark.There seem to be two different models. I bought the red one last week. In order to start it, I have to push and hold the on button for a few seconds before it turns on. Once it's on, pushing the button immediately switches between the constant on and flashing modes. To turn it off, you need to push and hold the button again for several seconds. This makes it pretty much impossible to turn on the light inadvertently (as someone mentioned in their review, giving the example of tossing the light into their gym bag) and running out the battery. This one has an IPX3 rating.Tonight I received the green/lime colored light (to use in the front) and its switch works totally differently - just a slight push turns the light on and off and also switched between modes. No IPX rating. I prefer the way the red one works.I wouldn't make the assumption that this behavior is linked to the color, rather I assume there are two different models/versions of the light currently being shipped, the one with the delayed on/off (ie in my case the red one) being superior.I am going to contact Nathan to verify my assumption, and if this is the case, return my current green/lime one for a more recent version which help with the longevity of the battery (no accidental turning on of the light).I star off for the inconsistent behavior.Just looked at the Nathan site, their specs for the strobe light mention an IPX4 rating, so there seem to be at least 3 different models.

These lights are fantastic. I use them for running at night, but you could conceivably use them for biking/hiking/etc. I bought two (one green and one orange), and clip them on to my side pockets while I run. They are so light you won't even feel them when you clip them on, but the clips are strong enough that they'll stay in place just fine even if you're really booking it. And they're bright enough that you'll stop traffic, literally. I actually had a bus driver (with a full load of passengers!!!) pull over to ask me where I got my running lights from because she was so impressed. Could not be happier with them.Just one word of caution: DO NOT BUY THE RED OPTION. Like I said,I have the green and orange colors and they work great. But I liked those so much I decided to get a third (in red) and it arrived broken. I thought the batteries may be dead, so I switched them out with those from one of my working lights. No dice, the red light still didn't work. I tried returning it and getting a new one (again in red), but once again when I received the new red light it didn't work. Again, I tried checking the batteries and it just didn't work. So either I'm incredibly unlucky, or there's something wrong with the reds. Either way, I'm tired of walking to the UPS store to send them back. I'm getting a refund and using it to buy another green. Or maybe another orange. Really any other color than red.

Pros:Very bright and easy to see in the dark for long distances.Replaceable batteries (two CR2032 batteries, which you can pick up anywhere)Very long battery life. I once accidentally left it on for several days in my coat pocket. The light had weakened a little, but it was still going strong. The clip is very sturdy and holds a tight grip to your clothes. I never worry about it falling off.Cons:The light only has two settings: steady and strobe, and I find the strobe setting obnoxious. I just wish the light had an intermediate setting, something that still flashed but at a lower frequency.I have been using these flashers for months. I use the plural because I've given away at least five of these to friends and people from my running group.I've even had a driver pull over to tell me how much she liked it and to ask me where I bought it (my neighborhood has no sidewalks, poor lighting, and lots of people walking their dogs in the evenings; a catastrophe waiting to happen).I strongly recommend this light. But if you do go with a different brand (I've tried a couple others and did some research online), just make sure that it's 1) Sturdy, with a good clip that won't just snap off after a few weeks, and 2) has batteries that can be replaced. Some of the lights out there might be a few dollars cheaper, but they're not worth it in the long-term.

I was training for my first 5K walk and as we got to the end of our training sessions, it began to become dark before we finished. I decided to buy one of these lights so that I could be seen at night. It's very cute, nice and small and incredibly bright! The first night I used it in training, I was heading toward the finish line and I saw a man approaching...it was my friend who is training with me (he runs, so he finishes ahead of me). He said he could see my light flashing and came to meet me and walk back with me! That was nice of him but I was really impressed that he could see my light from such a distance. I plan on buying him one as a thank you gift.He talked me into this training..I didn't want to do it because I am quite overweight and tired all of the time. But I decided to go for it and I'm so glad I did. I've dropped some weight/inches in the 10 weeks of training, have more energy and stamina and am now committed to continuing to get completely healthy!!! And although I am the slowest one in my training class, I kept at it and now training is done and I'm doing the Urban Cow, 5K/Half Marathon tomorrow morning!!! I'm very excited about it! Oh, but back to the product, it is really great and an excellent price too. I think you would be very pleased with you purchase.

This strobe light was purchased for a family member who attaches this to the lower portion of a shirt while walking in the early morning. This was purchased to help increase visibility when walking so that other drivers and pedestrians are aware that there is a person there.I initially saw this in a local sporting goods store, but the price was higher. So I looked to see if Amazon had the product. And low and behold, they did at a much cheaper price. So I immediately ordered it. In fact, I've ordered around 5 of them. The person uses at least two at a time while walking. What's good is that it strobes and it also will remain solid depending on your preference. You just press the button to cycle through Strobe, all on, and turning it off.Another great advantage to this strobe light is that there is user replaceable battery. We've had this for awhile enough to have the battery burn out. We've replaced the battery successfully and without any issue. It's a flat CR2032 battery. Some TV remote controls have this same battery. And it's quite affordable, so that's definitely a plus in our book.Overall, very happy with our purchase of this product and will buy more in the future.

The only time that I can go do my walks are in the evening and my usual walking route is around the neighborhood. My street is a very busy street & I was worried about people not seeing us, due to some spots not as well lit as others. I got 4 total (green) and absolutely love these. They have the solid light, as well as blinking option. I attached these to my double stroller (front one is on lower step (blinks), one on each side of the stroller (solid), and last one I usually attach the back of my shirt on the collar (solid). As I was finishing my walk, my husband was coming down the busy street and pulled into the driveway as we did. He said he could see the blinking light (front of lower part of stroller)all the way down the street. The only issue I have is that I wish they offered different options to attach to different things of various widths. Example I can only attach it to things that are a little more on the thin side, anything thick I can't attach it to. Other than that it says what its suppose to do, was delivered when it said it would, no assembly necessary, and they came in one piece.

I bought two of these because I do a lot of running at night. I've had people tell me they can see me coming from a good distance. I also have two of the smaller red (I call them blinky lights), between the two of them, I light up like a Christmas tree. In addition prior to buying this product I read the reviews and some one posted about how they attached one to their dog's collar. Brillant!!!! I take my dogs at night for a full out hauling booty run at a local golf course, and I was able to see them from far far away. The only thing, and maybe it's due to a low battery, I attached one to my shoe when I was running the other night and it kept turning off. However that didn't happen when I attached one to my dog.Although it may have been a different one because I did buy two, so I don't know one from the other. Overall if you're looking for a bright compact light for running, walking or biking at night, these babies sure do a good job. Double check other reviews for battery life. I've only had mine for a few weeks.

I have been using this light for a year and a half while running. I have the green color. The color is very bright and clear and the clip stays on very well. I really like this light. I've clipped it to my sleeve, to my jacket pocket, and to my running belt. It has never come loose. After the first year with this light, it started to fade. I ordered another light, even though the batteries are replaceable. I wanted a second light anyway, so I ended up replacing the batteries in the first, which restored it fully, and now I have two.One thing to take note of- the older version of this light is turned on with a single push of the button. It goes from constant light, to blinking light, to off. With the new Nathan light (at least the one I received), I have to hold down the button for 3-4 seconds before it will turn on, then a single push of the button switches it to blinking, and back to steady light. I have to hold it down for 3-4 seconds again to turn it off. Just FYI.

Our two labrador retrievers enjoy off-leash runs in the woods and meadows around here and with early winter sunsets we've been putting beacons like this on them to see where they are at.We also have lost several units (several different brands and designs) because the clips broke or didn't hold or the case fractured and fell apart. (dogs are pretty rough crashing through the woods and rolling around the fields)Picked up for the first time this Nathan® brand, in red, at a half-marathon last month at one of the vendor tables. I was impressed by the extended length of the clip, and the intensity of the LEDs. I saw among the reviews some comments that the GREEN model is also very bright, and have to agree! So, now we can see the dogs ¼ mile away and determine which dog is which by the color of the flashers. These units look fairly water resistant too. UPDATE: Four years later, water has never gotten past the gasket. Rain, creeks, snow. No leaks.

Great for the night runner. I have about 30 miles on mine. It has been attached to my right running shoe. Clipped inside the shoe string. Works perfect so far. Can't even feel it on the shoe. The clip is different but works great. Not sure about clipping on clothes or belt but it's great on the shoe. Great little light. "Be seen people". People are absent minded while driving "trust me". This light helps you be seen at night. Love it!!!!UPDATE: 1-15-16I finally had to replace the battery it's been 11 months. Don't pay attention to the negative reviews this is a great light. Battery compartment is a little tricky but light works great after replacing the battery's.Just use a quarter on the end of the light twisted sideways and pop the compartment open. Do it over a towel at your dining table because the battery's pop out. Getting the new batteries in is a little bit tricky but it works out fine just take your time.!Happy night runner!

This light was perfect for the Ragnar Relay that my friends and I ran this past weekend. It is very light, small, and appears to be very durable. It has a nice high quality clip on it that made it very easy to clip onto our night reflective vests while using. I really appreciated the functionality of the button on the the bottom of the light to turn it on and switch modes. To turn it on or off you simply hold the button down for a few seconds, and then to switch between modes (solid light or flashing) you simply press the button. I have had lights in the past that will turn off if you accidentally hit the button, which is a problem if you have it on your back and didn't realize that it's off. This light would not have that issue, which I find to be very beneficial. I highly recommend this light to anyone that needs to be seen while running, biking, or doing anything outdoors in the night!

My dog and I often run when it's quite dark and I'm always concerned about being visible to cars. The Nathan Strobe Light is super bright, clips easily and securely to my dog's collar and so far seems like excellent quality. I used to buy cheaper lights for my dog (costs a couple bucks), but they would break very quickly - usually from my dog shaking his head/body. We've had the clip break off of several, sending the light flying! So far I've been very impressed with the way the Nathan light has stayed on, hasn't fallen off once! The batteries are replaceable and it says the batteries will last 57+ hours when on continuously or 110+ hours on strobe. We usually put it on strobe, but I have to warn you,try not to look at the light too much because I feel like it will give you a seizure! I am definitely going to purchase a few more to put on my parents dog as well as to wear myself.

Best LED light/strobe for running, walking etc. I walk/run usually after dark or at dusk. We have no sidewalks in our neighborhood, so I wear a reflective vest and one of these. I know it works well because my kids can see me coming from way down the street. They take turns as lookout so they have time to shut off the video games before I get back. This is the fifth light I've tried and it's excellent - by far the best. It has both a steady and flashing option and clips easily (and stays) to your shirt, fleece etc. As a rough estimation I used it (flashing mode) for probably at least 200 hours before the battery died. Very easy to replace. Just remember to hold the button down in order to turn it on and off. When I first got it, I didn't look at the instructions and simply pressed the button to turn it on (wouldn't work). You just need to hold the button for a few seconds.

This was my second light purchased/fulfilled from Amazon. The first one, in green, worked fine. This one didn't work at all out of the package so I assumed the batteries must be dead. Replaced the batteries noting the original position and still no luck. I wrote a 1 star review and was about to cast it into the trash when I decided to look at it one more time. The little "+" an "-" signs inscribed in plastic are very difficult to see. At first I thought both were a "-" but after closer inspection I convinced myself one might be a "+". Sure enough, it worked!!! User error on my part. Also, good to note that the batteries might come shipped installed in the proper location.Takes CR2032 batteries and lasts many (8+?)hours/runs on them. I clip one one on the front and one on the back. You need to hold the button down a few second for it to turn off and on.

Works great! The first time I used this was early in the morning (still dark) with thick fog. I am sure the cars (the few that were out) could see me and stayed well away from me. I keep two clipped to my cap. One on the strap in the back and one on top of the bill.I read some negative reviews about the clip, but mine work great once you figure it out. The clip bends around the top of the clip in kind of a "u" shape. Press down on the part on the top of the clip and it works well. Pushing on the short part on the front of the light does not work for me. Using the clip is a little awkward since the light is so small and smooth, but I don't have to move the clip once I am "on the go".It took me a few seconds to figure out that to turn off the light the button needs to be held down until the light turns off.Overall, I am very satisfied.
