I really like Windows 10 Professional. It gives me back a proper user interface for a desktop device instead of the touch-screen tiles nonsense on Win8.1. Plus I can choose what updates to install, which to block and which to notify before download.Mini Install or upgrade guide:► Create a full image on a second drive before upgrading just in case the upgrade corrupts your Windows drive and makes it inaccessible, as the roll-back won't work in the worst case scenario► Having an image will also mean you can roll-back to your old Windows after the Microsoft 30-day roll-back feature has expired.► Disable all secondary drives and disconnect all external devices except for keyboard, mouse an monitor (duh!)► Disable firewall and all anti-virus/spyware programs► Begin upgrade► During the upgrade do not enter any product keys. Just use the 'skip' button (A product key may be requested several times but should always be skipped)► Once the Windows 10 upgrade has completed, confirm that license activation has been successful► If, after successful activation the upgrade is not running correctly, then do a clean install (again without entering any product keys). You can create a USB installation disk by downloading the tool from Microsoft.► Now install each program and driver one by one with a reboot in between. Test the system to check it is working okay before moving on to install the next program or driver. Keep repeating this step until you find the culprit. This is the only reliable way to identify software issues that are preventing Windows 10 from working properly.► Be patient and take it slow if you are having to troubleshootWith regard to the free promotional upgrade to Windows 10:I had a lot of problems with the licensing terms and policies. I raised a complaint with MS Global Corporate HQ. They gave me a free Win10 Pro Retail ex gratis as a resolution. This was in addition to the free upgrade I already had. So , in effect, I had two licenses while only paying for one. For more information on the complaint and resolution, please see my review of Windows 8.1 for greater detail.Windows 10 Professional Standalone License (aka Retail License). Recommended!!Edit: How to get control of updates and notifications (#1 only works in Professional and Enterprise editions of Win10)1. Run gpedit via the run dialog and change to notify of updates instead of auto download & install. Once in gpedit, you will find the option within Computer Configuration►Administrative Templates►Windows Components►Windows Update2. Right click the 'Start Button', System►Advanced system settings►'Hardware' TAB►Device Installation Settings►No, let me choose what to do3. Download the "Hide & Show" utility from Microsoft as this allows you to hide specific updates4. Settings ► System►Notifications and actions►Turn off the notifications for any specific item (stops Windows notifications for NVidia or other stuff for instance). You also have the option to disable other Win10 notifications here5. The 'Disable applications to help improve performance' notification can be switched off in the Control Panel. (This is the notification that tells you 3 or more startup programs are slowing the system down).6. Enable 'Quiet hours'

I've been using Windows 10 since launch on an I5 3570k based system with 8 GB RAM and a GTX760 GPU. The system has two 256MB SSD's for OS and OS backup and also two 2TB HDD's for data and apps. My version was an in place upgrade to a window 8.1 based system. At the launch of Windows 8 I was impressed with performance but less impressed with the entirely tablet based approach that seemed design to ape IOS but caused confusion for a lot of experienced desktop users in doing so.I'm pleased to say this has been addressed in Win 10, with the start button returning (and not just taking you to the start screen) and the start screen now being implemented as a pop up over the desktop. For me this hits the mark now, perfectly suited to desktop operation but also easy to use when in touch screen mode. From my experience performance isn't greatly altered by the core of this release (but I've been very happy with OS and App load times since getting a combination of Win 8 with an SSD).The biggest changes have come around the GUI , with a very nice feature now being introduced called taskview. This pops up a screen allowing quick access to running apps but also allows you to create and access alternative desktops, so you can create desktops for different purposes (in my case a work desktop and a social one). There are a variety of other changes including the Cortana search assistant, enabling voice activated search. There is also a new browser called Edge, designed to offer a slicker more slimmed down experience than IE (and one based more around current standards). I've found this to a bit a bit buggy at the moment, randomly going into a mode of constantly reloading all tabs and needing to be closed and restarted - I'm sure this will be resolved in time and it shows promise. It's worth noting this upgrade is offered to those upgrading various Windows versions at no cost so it's very wise to check that out before buying and finding you didn't need to.One big omission is windows Media Centre. This has now been removed, so if you were using Media Centre clients regularly then you will need to look at a different solution (xmbc maybe?) or stick with your current version.Overall I consider this a solid upgrade, it has corrected many of the biggest mistakes in Win 8 and introduced some good functionality (though lost some others). Definitely more usable and well worth consideration. I'd feel more comfortable suggesting Win 7 users upgrade to this than I was 8 as they'll feel much more comfortable using it.

Easiest Windows to install with frequent opportunities to adjust your privacy settings and choose what you send to Microsoft. Hardware drivers are almost a thing of the past, although some wireless adaptors seem not to be covered (especially USB ones) in my experience. Mind you, if there are Windows 10 drivers supplied by your hardware vendors, you just might need to install them to get full functionality or iron out a problem. On the negative side, the tendancy for Windows 10 to push me toward potentially chargeable "apps", especially for things that were previously not a problem, is frustrating. I mean, for example, that the photo viewer in Windows 10 does not seem to be reliable and sometimes get pictures the wrong way up or messes up the aspect ratio. This may just be a problem on one particular installation of mine, however, I NEVER had this problem with the old picture viewer on Windows 7 across dozens of installations.All-in-all though, Windows 10 is better, usually faster and a doddle to install compared to previous versions. Definitely recommended, just remember to be bothered to check you privacy settings.Read full review...

I accidentally used a corrupt windows 7 disc on my laptop and rendered it basically useless. I did a search for a cheaper alternative than spending nearly €100 on a windows 10 installation disc and came across this products. I was a little skeptical at first but thought I would give it a try, I already messed up my laptop install so had nothing to lose! I was sent a product key by email a few days before the usb arrived. Once the usb arrived a booted from usb and followed the on screen steps. I entered the product key when prompted and installed windows 10 without issue. The only thing I needed to do was change the resolution of my screen once I got to the home screen as the resolution was setup totally wrong.I have to say this product is excellent and works 100% as expected with no issues what so ever. I would easily recommend this to anyone looking for a fresh install of windows 10 or an upgrade from 7

USB stick was delivered 24 hours after I ordered it. Amazingly quick. The instructions were clear and concise and takes the time to explain you may have to alter the computers bios settings. This is tricky if you've never accessed the bios before and the instructions make it plain that if you don't know, you will have to either look up the specs and configuration of your computer or call their support line. I work in IT so didn't need to call but they have call, text and WhatsApp support. The activation code arrived via email and a text message informing me the code had been sent arrived pretty much simultaneously.OS installed without a hitch and activation was hassle free. All in all,the next time I need to install an OS from scratch, I'll be getting back to these guys. It's a fraction of the cost, trouble free and very, very quick.

Bought the product specifically to install on a New build M.2 chip computer I was building, In spite of some horror stories I had read and heard the USB stick version seemed to be the best way to install this not having a DVD drive fitted, Installation went without a hitch and was completed in minutes, updates however took many hours to complete so have patience, you can still work with the computer but unless you have direct fibre things will be slow on the net. Once completed what I ended up with is a computer that goes from button press to desk top in 'Nine', yes that right nine seconds, up running and ready for work, Overall I am happy with Win10 though it may not be for everyone.

Having my PC play up and finally produce the dreaded blue screen I tried all sorts to correct it to no avail. I was about to take the plunge and buy one of these discs of unknown quality and may end up with even more problems, when I saw this. It is, as it states, a GENUINE Microsoft " sealed " Windows 10 disc. Amazing for the price. I installed it when it arrived the very next day, and, to use a technical term....wahey. Sorted. Back to business. The great thing about this is, I installed it. It wasn't downloaded from the internet. That means if, heaven forbid I come unstuck again, I have the solution right here. Brlliiant. Best PC buy I've made in ages. Highly recommended.

There is a difference between the real deal and the "Torrent Deal". I had a computer built here in Bulgaria and they used a Torrent OS10 which, works-sorta, but it never gave me the confidence of the Original OS 10. There were constant glitches and repeated automatic upgrades, and applications that didn't work as advertised. I'm assured by the "Torrent" guys that their product is absolutely identical in all ways to the real deal, but in spite of their reassurances, now that I have installed the factory OS10, I don't have the previously mentioned problems."Stick with the Microsoft original, OEM, product is my advise.

Great; does exactly what it says it does. Plugged the USB stick into my new PC, inputted the code and it installed Windows 10 no bother. Thanks to the money saved I bought a new PC without an OS but with a GTX1080. Otherwise it would have been a PC with a GTX1070 and an OS.Pity Amazon delivery driver couldn't put it through the correct letterbox and delivered it to a neighbour who was away on holiday. Poor customer service by Amazon who said they would contact the delivery driver to find out what he had done with the parcel but failed to get back in touch with m.

I ordered this to upgrade our current windows. Unfortunately our computer failed before I received the item. Once our computer was returned repaired to us I had to request the product key again (as it is only valid for a few days) . Within 24 hours I received a telephone call giving me my new product key. The service was excellent, I registered my key through windows and the computer was up and running with the updated windows 10 within half an hour. Very pleased with both the product and the service received. Very helpful company.

The old saying "Buy cheap, Buy twice" doesn`t apply in this case. Like some other reviewers I was a bit sceptical at first but I had no need to be. Apart from a small issue with the license key I got basically the same as what was in the free upgrade from Microsoft. Then I accidentally shredded the copy that I burned to disc. Harry sent me a new license key and it was up and running and updated in no time at all. Now I`m running version 1703. Support was second to none.

I decided to go windows 10 throughout my home based on friends experience with it. I was impressed with Windows 10 installing all the drivers without me getting all those discs out.Cleaner layout and design. Only drawback is all the tracking and data harvesting I see on it. If you take the time and read what you allow Microsoft to collect and access it's pretty insane. I suggest using spy bot's beacon to help shut off some of that data collecting.

Windows 10 are the best windows ever because their performance is the best provided that system requirements are met. Their appearance and their easy to use are also the best because they are very user friendly. They have many new and improved features like Cortana. They are being improved constantly and the new versions are provided free of charge and they are installed easily without affecting existing user applications and files.

Managed to install with my old 2012 IQ525uk HP Touch Smart computer OS Windows Vista into Windows 10 Pro. At first, I was having trouble to install due to my old OS got stuck at 60% unable to continue, so i set up something to my BIOS and finally it came back to life. I also upgrade my SODIMM from 4gb to 8gb now it is like a brand new computer. Thank you for this genuine product I can recommend it.
