I like it but don't love it. Bought for my niece's 3rd birthday (even through the box says from 24mths) on the recommendation of her mum, because she'd apparently played with it at a friends and loved it. It's very colourful. A wooden frame into which the picture cards fit. These are thin and glossy (like photo paper) and are coloured on one side but with the same non-coloured (white) picture on the reverse. The buttons are small enough for little hands but slightly too big to swallow. Kids simply snap the coloured buttons into the matching coloured holes on the picture (the holes are in straight lines). So the idea is to help with colour recognition and hand dexterity. However, when my niece unwrapped it,she looked at all the picture cards, selected the dinosaur one (she loves dinosaurs) but didn't play with it. Possibly to do with the fact she had unwrapped previous gifts and there were more interesting ones around her. But that's my point ... there are more interesting (and educational toys) for a 3 year old. I had bought her another gift (play make up in a cosmetic bag) which she took to straight away and was making everyone up immediately and wouldn't part with the bag going to bed. I wasn't disappointed regarding this toy as my nephew (her little brother) also had his 1st birthday ... and he showed much more interest in this so at least he'll play with it for a lot longer than his sister will. ANOTHER POINT RE STORAGE: The box has NO LID! It comes just with a cellophane sheet across front rather than a lid. This was important when it came time for them to pack up and go home. A lid for the box would have been handier to keep everything from the same toy together. Instead, the frame and cards could go back into the box base but the buttons had to be put in a small food bag, then the whole thing put into a plastic carrier bag. So at home you might need some other safe storage system for this.

A fantastic colouring book! Here's why: it's bigger than normal (A4 + another inch or so all the way around); it's not really a book but a tear-out pad so, rather than having a colouring book with every page started and then abandoned (is it just me who finds this a waste?), you can ask your child to choose a picture, tear it out and then put the rest of the pad away (also great if more than one child wants the same book at the same time!); the paper is white bond paper, so excellent quality - a child would be hard-pushed to scratch through it and it holds paint well; the pictures are just perfect for my daughter (aged 4) as they are neither too simple nor too fiddly. Finally, although this is designed for girls, is not not all princesses and horses, there are lots of wild animal and sea life pictures which are great for boys too. Last week, I had my daughter, my step-children (boy of 12 and girl of 14) and one of their friends (aged 14) all sitting at the dining table, all colouring, painting and sticking the picture of their choice. Peace and quiet for a good hour or so! Highly recommended!

The blue looks purple. It's a great tool but the kids are always asking where the purple buttons are or why the puzzles don't have purple and/or blue bottons missing. The younger kids get the point of it but the picture advertised shows a nice blue and the actual product is dark purple. The pictures are great but again not as advertised. I love the seahorse in the picture but there's no seahorse in the actual product. We also got an additional butterfly which isn't a bad thing

I bought this for my 7 year old daughter for Christmas and we are both impressed. The pages are large and even marker pens don't seep through to the next page. The pictures are all good designs and not to fiddly for children to colour easily. The perforated sheets mean that more than one person can colour at the same time and then the work can be displayed on the notice board. The space on each page for the child to put their name is a nice touch.

I bought this for my 3 year old twins, thinking they'd love it. Unfortunately they don't, they've had a couple of goes with it but find it quite boring and quickly lose interest. On the plus side, its very well made, colourful and easy to fit the discs into the holes. An additional board would have been useful as there are enough discs and pictures for two children to play together but only one board.

The toy is good because it teaches children how to match patterns then gives them freedom to make their own. I particularly like the size of the pegs a my grandson is only just 2 and would find smaller ones too difficult to handle. A big bonus is that his great grandma also loves it so they can play together.

I bought this for my friends 5 year old daughter at Christmas, along with some pens. As soon as she opened it she settled down and coloured in one page very carefully. She just loves it and my friend told me recently that she had said that it was her favourite Christmas present ever! (And I believe her!)

Bought as a gift for a 5-year-old, coveted by my 7-year-old: just lots of great appealing pictures on good quality paper and the perforations for removing the chosen work of art mean the pad always looks nice and new.

this is a lovely, big colouring book. It looks attractive and my daughter, who is 5, was very taken with it. We've ordered more as party presents for friends.
