I bought these for my son at 1 year old and even nearly 3, he still loves to play with these. There's lots to explore with the pictures on the side. They have suffered a bit through wear and tear but that's mainly my own fault for stepping on them through being too disorganised and not putting them away properly after use! I would be happy to buy these as a gift for people with young children - a lot of toys are all singing, all dancing, electronic and noisy. In contrast, I love the simplicity and timelessness of this. Children can build towers to their hearts content and explore putting things into others, as well as enjoying the patterns and pictures.

We bought these stacking blocks as a present for our god-daughter and are not dissapointed, lovely bold pictures and details. Our own daughter received a similar set over three years ago and they are safely one of the most played with toys in her huge collection. They are made from very strong cardboard and are surprisingly durable, they have been taken on holidays due to the fact they can be packed away so easily, survived being worn as shoes for one game and still going strong, with some minor sellotape repairs! Our set are now being enjoyed by our 1 year old son and we are sure that our god-daughter will have many hours of fun with her new blocks.

Made of good quality strong card...my 18 month old granddaughter loved building up the tower and then knocking it down again.Bright and colourful with lovely pictures and letters of the alphabet on each one...I'm sure she will get a lot more out of it...as inrecognising and relating the letters to the pictures. A good fun yet educational toy. If your child is one that likes to step on his/hertoys then put it away until they are ready for it. Albeit strong it is made from card...and when the tower is pushed over with lots ofclapping and glee it doesn't hurt the child!

My 14 month old daughter LOVES these blocks. She carries the smallest “z” block around with her like a comfort blanket (ok slight exaggeration) and a couple have had a bit of a chew and have survived to tell the tale, which is good! They are really lovely and colourful and made well. They create a fab tall tower for her to knock down and the boxes are lightweight enough that a bonk on the head doesn’t do any damage (hopefully)! I would definitely buy these again and recommend to anyone who has a child who, like mine, loves stacking things!

Love Melissa and Doug toys. This is a great stackable tower. Would give 5 stars but (1) it's a cardboard boxed base with paper on top so my little one has slowly started to peel the paper off. If your little ones are curious and see a little paper hanging off then don't buy...they'll rip into the pieces. (2) again because it's a cardboard base the little ones sit and step and flatten the boxes...but that's because toddlers are crazy :-D But generally it's a really nice tower (even when little one demolished the letter Z by flattening it!)

My twin granddaughters love these stacking boxes. Aside from knocking them down as soon as you stack them, they love to find all the animals on the side. In face if you say bring the block with the cow on it, they will make the noise of the cow. An easy sound for them to remember and also recognise the animal. At 18mths they can't read yet so this is a good animal/letter recognition tool. They also like to sit on and use the boxes as shoes! They are still standing and not fallen apart yet. Would highly recommend.

These boxes are the only toy that keeps my 9 month old occupied for 20mins. He has a Jumperoo that he'll only stay in for 5 mins so he's very easily bored! He loves them. No he can't stack them yet, though he does like to knock them down when Mummy builds a tower for him. He is fascinated by putting things into the boxes and taking them out again. His hands can grip the sides of the boxes and they're light enough for him to lift with one hand. Worth every penny!

These are fairly good quality hollow cardboard boxes which stack on top of each other. They are taller than my son which he loves and he really enjoys knocking them down. Nice and safe too as they are not too hard if they fall on him.It would have been good if they didn't just rest on top of each other but it's only a minor point, i would recommend them. I do find some of the Melissa&Doug range fairly expensive.....

I bought a game from Melissa&Doug for my son and found it very sturdy and perfectly done for kids, so, I was looking for a toy or game to keep my 18 months old baby girl busy, and immediately think about Melissa&Doug. I love this boxes set, super good quality, nice colours and pictures, my baby actually stands over them and do not change the shape or get damage! Completely happy and highly recommended those products

This is the usual high standard toy I love from the Melissa and Doug range. My 19 month old daughter loves to empty the boxes out and find the pictures on the side that she recognises before she attempts to build a tower with them. Its a fun way to spend some time learning. They are pretty hard wearing but my little one likes to try to climb into them so they are starting to show signs of wear and tear already.

I bought these for my one year oldWhen they arrived I was very pleased with the packaging and the designAlthough after giving them to my daughter to play with I was less impressedThey are made from cardboard so as one year olds do she shoved it straight in her mouth after 2 min it was soggy and unusable and my little one had a mouth full off cardboard I feel it would be better made of plastic

Great toy that is fun for both my 1 year old and 3 year old.Not sure what the complaints are about it being made of cardboard... It can't be any heavier or they'd be complaining of injuries when it gets knocked down?My 3yr old did try and use some as stepping stones and yes they will collapse if kids do that.I've brought 3 altogether as gifts for 1st birthday presents.

My daughter received these blocks as a present two years ago and they proved so popular that I have bought as a gift for my little 2 year old niece. They are only made of cardboard but are very robust and they had coped very well with being sat on by a toddler. Like the fact they nest. Also educational and lovely bright pictures on them. Have provided hours of fun

I am so pleased with this item. My eldest son had them years ago and played with them so much, they broke after time.I have now bought a set for my youngest son and they both love stacking them whilst the eldest sings the alphabet song.I did catch the youngest son trying to stand on one of the boxes - they won't last long if they're stood on!!

I bought these for my 20 month old and he loves them, every morning this is the first thing he goes for. They are great quality for the price, even though they are cardboard they seem to be lasting well. He loves building them up and also playing hide, they are good with the pictures on them and for the price I would highly recommend this set.
