Pros: Well made with heavy duty 600 denier nylon. Reinforced sides and top carrier. Designed for light to medium carrying. Reflective strips. Quick snap-fit plastic buckles all round. Absolute bargain for the price.Cons: A bit of a rigmarole fitting the four plastic side inserts. If using a top box then they will get in the way. Won't last forever.I've only just received these but first impression is very positive. They are designed for carrying light-ish loads such as some shopping or a change of clothes and a few files for the office. They are not meant as touring panniers, you will need to spend a lot more money on a more robust substantial set. That said, they are very well made for the price. The panniers come flat packed in a massive box! The only downside is fitting the four plastic side strips but this is remedied by taking the edges off the strips and rounding the corners by chamfering the edges, I used a fine metal file but I think emery paper or a nail file would suffice. This will stop you cutting your knuckles and once done the strips slip in far easier and don't get caught on the seams. Don't skip this tip as many people have torn the seams by trying to force them in. I think it will also prolong the life of the panniers as the edges cut into the material where the stress points are.The strips have to be slid into two inside pockets, one at the top and one at the bottom which hold them in place. Another tip before fitting is to bend and flex the strips - especially the ends of the strip. Bend and flex the strip about a third of the way down its length so that it has a slight bend already in place before fitting. Then, bend and flex the two ends into a slight arch shape a long the width, the edges should point downwards. This will effectively shorten the width so you do not have to cut the strips down. When fitting the strips make sure they fit behind the front seams as they are a very tight fit, they can easily catch and this is the reason why people are forcing them in and ripping the seams.I started by siding the first strip into the bottom pocket (remember to arch the both ends) make sure you have slid the strip all the way in, take your time and don't force it, once in flatten it out slightly and make sure it fits behind the front seam. Then fit the strip into the top pocket in the same way. Next, make sure that the strip is behind the front seam all the way along its length and flatten it out completely, check it is still fitted properly in both pockets. Repeat for the other three strips and voilà, two nice looking and fairly large (office/shopping) panniers! They are attached to the rack by three snap-fit plastic buckles and straps, the type found on rucksacks, one at each side and one at the top. The bags are also closed using the same type of buckle. You can carry the two panniers using the top plastic covered strap and I think they would easily fit in a shopping trolley or find some way of securing them with a wire/chain lock, but then some idiot would probably cut them off! Don't know how waterproof they are but I think they would be okay for what they where designed for as they are made from heavy duty 600 denier nylon. The internal usable space is approximately 30x33x15.5cm (12x13x6").Hope this helps, I looked at lots of panniers before choosing these, you won't be disappointed.UPDATE:I've been using these panniers for a couple of months now and so far they've been okay, no splits yet, still good value. I use them mainly for shopping, but not everyday, but I've had some really full loads. As I said previously, these are meant for light use a round town and not for a touring holiday. Having said that, I decided to upgrade and get a pair of Ortlieb Back Roller Plus panniers, expensive, but top quality. The reasons being, my bike is now my main form of transport; I also bought a lockable M-Wave Bicycle Rear Carrier Top Box from Amazon and I didn't know how it attached to the pannier - as usual there is never enough information or pictures on Amazon! The problem is, or rather was, the box attaches to a pannier rack using two threaded bars which you tighten up internally, which then also locks the panniers in position, good for security but a pain if you want to just use the box on it own. So, be aware of how these panniers attach if you decide to use a top box as well; the Ortlieb panniers attach on the side of the rack and come off with one pull of a strap, nice.I also tried the Mainstream SL 55 classic PLUS panniers from Amazon but they were a waste of time because of the poor quality fixings. I had to send them back to Germany for a refund!

These panniers were brilliant when I bought them. Easy to assemble and to attach onto my bike. They don't get caught in the wheels (unlike my previous panniers) which is a bonus for me. I definitely prefer the clips rather than zips as I've had experiences of zips breaking before (then everything falls out!). The only slight downfall for me is the curved bottom on one side of each of the panniers; this would be much better if they were squared shaped as I can't fit any large folders snuggly into them without distorting the shape of the panier top (which is primarily what I wanted it for, being a student) and ruining my folder. However, it's great for shopping, you'll be amazed by how much you can actually cram in them.Unless you're a student wanting to carry large folders with you, then these panniers are great. Really sturdy and convenient. The handle on top is also a bonus, you can just unclip the panniers from your bike and carry it with you into work or college (or to just keep out of the rain). On the rain note, I would definitely recommend a waterproof cover as they don't always completely remain dry inside.Hope this helps.

The first one I received had a defect (it happens) but Amazon immediately sent a replacement - excellent service as always! The bags are a bit bulky with the plastic inserts but if you want you can leave those out to reduce volume & weight when empty. Personally, I don't mind, it was just a matter of getting used to it as I'd never had a pannier bag before.I'm very happy with it, fits all the groceries so I don't have to drive the car to the supermarket any more! (ok, if you're shopping for a family of 5 you'll still need the car - it's a 30-litre bag not a trunk!)Seems to be sturdy and well made, very easy to put on or take off the bike, easy to open/close and at a cheap price, what else do you need?Only thing that remains to be seen is how long it will last, although I know people who have had one for a couple of years and apart from a slight discoloration of the material (black slowly fading to grey - but I do live in a very sunny country and the sun will do that to most materials) I haven't heard any complaints.

having decided to purchase luggage to use for my bike, and after browsing amazon`s bike pannier site, i came upon this particular one. when it came(only two days after ordering), i was very impressed by the quality and design. some pannier sets can be a bit flimsy, but this one has quite rigid support panels, which i found were very easy to place in the allotted panels. once in, it makes for a very sturdy, very roomy pannier set(it virtually stands up on its own, when off the bike). it will hold quite a good weight and amount(probably the equivalent of three standard sized loaves of bread)in each one. it has three extremely useful and strong quick release straps to attach it to a bike luggage frame, and great reflective strips and piping as well. well done to the manufacturer for producing a very high standard item, and anybody thinking of purchasing pannier bags, i can highly recommend that they get this particular model. price very reasonable, and first-class service all round.

I assembled the pannier in less than 6 minutes. Although the plastic inserts seem a very tight, impossible fit initially, there is a technique for inserting them successfully. Each plastic piece ( 4 in total ) has 2 pockets inside the pannier for insertion. Don't force too far one corner into a pocket. Try to evenly push both corners in and slowly they do go in. Start with the top insert because you can see what you are doing. Then once inserted bend the plastic in the opposite direction ( inwards ) towards you. Take the bottom end and carefully nudge it into the slot at the base of the bag. This takes a little longer and may seem impossible at first, but keep on slowly pushing the plastic corners into the pocket evenly.Push down on the bended plastic for extra force. It should all go in without any tear to the fabric. The pannier seems like a strong shopping bag even without the plastic inserts so I am not afraid of putting in weighty shopping. Hope this review is helpful.

THE GOOD:They're big, I can carry my weeks shop easy and with these I can even buy bigger bulkier items that I couldn't really before. They attach on with clips (like on camping backpacks, where you squeeze the sides to loosen it) which go around the frame. It has got a handle on the top so it's easy to to carry around. To give the bag bulk you can put in a plastic board that gives it shape which has caused people trouble, however I have simply chosen not to use them. The bag has remained intact and allows me to squash them to fit in lockers.THE BAD:The clips are fiddly. Though in theory the clips just take a second to fasten doing it around the bag gets harder, that isn't to say it's an impossible task it's just a bit annoying.FINAL COMMENT:Good bag, good buy, don't bother with the board that people are complaining about, fiddly clips. Would recommend.

I had no sooner read the e-mail from Amazon to say my panniers had been dispatched, than there was a knock at the door, and there was the courier with my parcel, which is what I call service! However, the packaging could have been a lot less. I don't thing a pair of canvas panniers needed a 3ft by 2ft box, and crunched up paper to protect them, a bag would have done.Fitting the panniers couldn't have been easier, just throw over and do up the straps. Job done. The plastic inserts are awkward to fit. The end 3 inches need shouldering to make them easier to slide into the pockets inside the bags, and the corners need rounding off so they don't split the pannier, as I found out!Apart from those minor gripes,an excellent product, which matches my M-Wave top box.

I've recently got a bike to commute to work so needed a good set of panniers for all my day-to-day guff, haven't ridden a bike for years so the prospect of having to haul a rucksack on my back didn't thrill me.Reviews for these are usually good, and well deserved too, they're robust, functional and spacious. But - I almost shredded them while trying to fit the card bases that keep them in shape. I've had to repair a couple of rips I caused with thread and hot glue because the corner of the card caught the material and the tight fit put everything under a lot of pressure so the friction built up and the fabric lost the fight.Don't get me wrong, having a rigid shape is very useful, but it'd have been handy if they'd rounded off the corners of the card.

After reading all the reviews on these bags l thought l would give them a try and l was not dissapointed. They are quite well made and water proof in the rain with a lot of room for luggage. A few people have said that the stitching is quite bad but l think this is down to the forcing in of the inserts, if you cut the edges more rounded as they are quite sharp then the inserts go in no problem at all with no damage to the stitching. My only gripe is that l needed to strengthen the backs with a piece of hard board as they started to bend in towards the tyre, this may be the type of rack l am using as nobody else seemed to have this problem. All in all l am very happy with this product and would reccomend it to all for the price.

Great value for money, especially if your bike is at risk as the cost of a replacement is not high. Each pannier will hold upto 2 carrier bags of shopping with careful packing. The 4 stability panels can easily be fitted inside the panniers to form a stable base even when your panniers are empty (preventing the saggy bag look); I would suggest fitting your panniers onto your bike first then inserting the panels (insert the panel just under the top tab inside the pannier and then bend it a little to ease it into the bottom tab). Light reflective strips help visibility. The panniers have a waterproof lining and full top covers to prevent water penetration.I am more than happy with mine as shopping is much less stressful.

The bags are spacious, but do not scrape the feet when cycling. They are easy to put together: inserts were easy to fit, and precisely the right size (contrary to claims by previous reviewers). I have put them to the test through heavy rain and hail, and the contents remained dry. One of the fasteners ripped off rather too easily when wet, and I sensed that the stitching on the handle was straining under the weight when I carried them, so care is required when removing the bags and carrying them around on foot. When walking with the bags, they are a cumbersome load. Despite these drawbacks, the bags are a good buy: perfect for a few days away on the bike.

I have decided to review this Item as I am on my second pair. I had the first pair for two years on two different bikes. They have been a godsend as my bike is my only means of transport, I have been able to do daily shopping It takes the weight as long as you put the insert's in. They have saved my bike from being badly damage on a few occasions, but the last time I came off my bike on Black Ice the bag was ripped I got my shopping home (a full pannier Load) but the bag was badly damaged so this is the reason for buying my second pair of M-Wave Panniers. I would not hesitate in recommend this item all in all a very good buy at a reasonable price.

When we moved to the city we sold the car and bought bicycles. Shopping was a problem until we each bought the M-Wave Amsterdam Double Rear Pannier Bag. It's made of sturdy material, and when assembled is very roomy. We manage to fit a week's shopping for 2 people into the bags easily. The only issue we had, was trying to fit the cardboard into the bottom of the bags to reinforce them. It's a very tight fit, but if you round the edges off with a scissors before trying to insert them into the holders, they slip in much easier. They are an excellent buy and I would recommend them to anyone thinking of purchasing them. They are also waterproof.

Putting the stiffeners in is the only assembly required. These are a splendidly snug fit. Once in place you have two large bins in which to carry loads of things aboard a bicycle. It has three easy strap fasteners for securing it to a rear rack, plus a couple of slots in the piece of plasticised cloth joining the two bags together to allow a cycle rack spring to go through. In fact, the rack spring is the only fastener I use normally, making removal and replacement extremely simple using the carrying handle also attached. Since I travel quite often on a train together with the bike, this is a great attribute for me. Love 'em.

Hi. I got over a years wear out the last set, if not more and I use them all the time. My bike is my only mode of transport. . They are ideal putting your carrier bags in when shopping. The clip fasteners and lift up tops make them roomy and easy to store your haul quickly. The tops do cover the storage area properly because they have side flaps. The quality is good for the price. You do get what you pay for though, I would not take them touring or camping. But for light to medium use, they are excellent. I haven't had any problem. I didn't bother inserting the support panels. They don't seem necessary and just add weight.
