Measures 9.5cm high (+1cm for the protruding metal pin) x 6.5cm x 2cm. Wire description is accurate at 90cm and looks to be 2.4mm diameter plastic coated wire as described. My scales make the weight to be 89.6 grams.Bought for skis and this lock appears to be absolutely identical to the far more expensive ones in all but the colour of the plastic. The fact that it is transparent is not important as you cannot see the pins of the lock and although an opaque one may give the impression of being stronger and less 'plasticky' the plastic it is made from feels strong and does not flex at all when squeezing it.Yes if you smashed it with a rock a couple times it may open but then any lock is reallyonly to deter opportunistic thieves from walking off quickly and quietly with your gear without drawing attention to themselves and nothing is going to stop someone determined with boltcutters or a lockpick for keyed locks (besides the fact that wherever you leave your skis tied up there are likely to be many people around). Perhaps more importantly it also prevents people innocently picking up your skis if they have the same pair and get confused.Cable length is more than long enough to go around several pairs of skis. Code is easy to reset and provided you don't set it to something stupid like 0123 (or any very low or very high number where people would logically start and cycle forwards or backwards from there) then there are 10,000 combinations and it will take 10 times longer to crack than some of the three barrel locks available. After a couple days I did however notice a small issue in the design (which I won’t point out) that I could effectively exploit to crack the code in about a minute but it does require some close examination to notice it and I doubt that the majority of people would spot it without having played around with the lock quite a bit. Due to the nature of this issue I am sure it would apply to pretty much every code lock like this available though and since deterrence is really the main purpose I don’t consider it a problem.A brass lock with a key would be harder to unlock or break for your average person but then you also have to carry the wire and fumble to tie it up securely whilst this can just retract and lock. Likewise it is also harder for you to unlock if you lose the key and you are then pretty much stuck. This can easily be put in a bag or even just locked to your bag or belt without weighing you down and there’s nothing to lose. Just keep the code somewhere in your locked phone (and don’t make the code your bank pin in case the thieves are also pickpockets obviously) and this seems like a perfect solution. Yes... I put an unnecessary amount of thought into this.

It's chunky but I haven't been able to find a similar design that's smaller and highly-rated; I don't think that technology exists yet. This lock is a decent compromise between portability (as regards size, lightness in weight at 88g), convenience and security. Acceptable enough size and weight for a handbag or medium- or large-sized EDC (everyday carry). The lock has a tiny built-in carry loop.Setting a new code is straightforward. Instructions are included. There are 10,000 combinations of four numbers when numbers are used multiple times in a combination; there are 5,040 combinations of four numbers when numbers are used only once. Therefore the lock's secure, but of the lock and the cable it's the cable that's the less secure. This lock's not for securiing items in unbusy public locations or anywhere remote or left for ages, which favour thieves with tools. I already own a fairly small tool that would cut this cable. I don't use it to secure my bicycle or gold bullion chest. I use it to attach my bag to my chair in a cafe or library.I'm pleased with this lock. Decent price. It works. It's easy to use. But it is not the ultimate in security and shouldn't be expected to be.

Instead of trying to find a big enough pad lock to go around the handle of my case, I thought it'd be easier to get a cable lock. It's easy to use and set a new code, feels sturdy and looks smart. Also the cable holds fast at whatever length you lock it at and doesn't budge. It's like a thin gantry/catenery wire so someone would need a pair of cutters to go through it. It obviously isn't an overnight solution if left in public. But I tried twisting it with my hand with about 75% of my strength, and it only creaked/groaned once which reassured me as thought it'd easily break. If I used both hands and all my strength I think I could possibly snap it but don't want to try.And in public anyone trying to do that would immediately draw suspicion.

My teenager kid is using this lock with his belongings when on trainings. He likes to take his kick scooter (?) everywhere. I know that it is not strong but scooter has limited number of "holes" so big locks will not work.I also use second lock (I have bought two of them) to secure my bag in hotels and in transit. Again... it is not strong but if you are in hotel you do not expect someone with special equipment. I just want to be sure that my electronic devices will be in the room. This lock has small diameter so it goes thru zipper. I can use one lock to lock all zippers in my bag.

This lock fitted perfectly round two snowboards (back to back through the bindings) and a pair of skis. It’s not an expensive lock and the plastic element at the top (where the number code spinner is) does seem a little flimsy, but it held up and did what we needed it to do. It was more of a deterrent for opportunist thieves, if someone really was intent of stealing the kit they could use some wire cutters and be away with it. Probably not sturdy enough for a bike lock, unless it was just a quick stop etc.

Great little lock. I’ve used this to secure the kids scooters at school and hubby uses it to lock his bike if he’s popping in the the shop on his journey. I wouldn’t trust it to secure anything left in public for any real amount of time, as a small set of wire cutters would easily cut through this. But it’s enough to stop the opportunist thief. If you yank on the cable you will jam it and break the mechanism, you have to push the button to wind the wire in or out.Neat - pocket sized and light weight.

Because the wire is extendable, you can use this for a variety of situations. I got an allotment with a wonky shed, and can just loop the wire through the unaligned loops to secure the door. I tried out another product on Amazon that broke within 10 minutes. This is a solid lock and certainly can't complain at the price. I would imagine its easy enough to cut off with bolt cutters but its a good enough deterrent for most uses.

This is obviously just a deterrent for when you’re out for a ride and having a cafe stop. It will in no way stop anyone from nicking your bike but will make them think twice and go for one which isn’t locked (thieving scum)... It is light, easy to use and so far reliable- have used on 10 or so rides so far. For the price, weight and deterrent factor it’s a winner... Please do not use this as your commuter lock!!!

always keep one of these in your back pack. I got one of these and left it in my backpack as I went all over Europe. I used it to lock shut a hotel door in a slightly dodgy hotel, to clip bags etc to anchor points like desks whilst out an about, even used one to temporarily moor up a small boat in amsterdam so i could run into a shop (hire company didn't give any rope to tie to the bank with)great little locks

This lock is better that what I was expecting for the price. It has a 90cm wire that can be pulled out which dont get me wrong is thin as I expected, but perfect for fitting in back pocket of cycling jersey on a bike ride. Used it to pop into a local shop and park my bike outside. Ideally I would only use this lock at cafe's when your bike is in sight, however for the price this item is good

Great lock for discouraging casual theft. Not strong enough to lock a bike up with outside, but I keep my brompton locked to a desk with it at my hospital which it does the job for. Also took it skiing to lock my skis up, and the cable is long and thin enough to loop through the bindings. Easy to reset combination, and can be locked/unlocked with gloves.

After hearing things about Buggys/prams being stolen at Disneyland Paris I decided to invest in one of these cable locks. Used it often and it was so easy to take off and on. Where I couldn't attach it to a steel frame/fence, I looped it between the pram wheels. Highly recommend if you have to leave your pram unattended for a period of time.

This 'cafe' lock is light and simple to use. I only dropped a star on sturdiness as I have not used it much or dropped it so can not comment on this aspect really. Time will tell. Clearly not something that will resist a determined thief, but sufficient to put someone off when your back is turned to buy a coffee.

So far so good. The design is clever with simple buttons on the side to extend or pull in. The dial is easy to turn and obvious when the number is selected. Good length of cable to allow the item to be locked to anything nearby. It seems sturdy enough but I cannot say more about that at this stage.

I carry this cafe lock to my weekend rides where i leave my bike outside a cafe stop, its long enough to lock 2 bikes together at top tube, retraction is good, the number combination keys are sometimes fiddly to operate due to their size but that's alright for a lock this small.
