I really like this L'Oreal Men Expert Hydra Sensitive Post-Shave Balm a lot.Firstly it really works soothing my skin after shaving. The scent is good too, not too butch and overpowering but just right for a man.Like a lot of men, my skin can be sensitive after wet shaving despite using shaving oils and sensitive shave gel and the like. This balm is for sensitive skins and I can really vouch for the fact that it soothed my face really well after shaving and left it soft and smooth together with feeling great. The razor burn was quenched at once and my skin felt as if I could safely snuggle next to my wife which is no mean feat when you're our age.(Do you know what dry reaching is?Our 19 yo son does)Niggles? The lotion is wet and liquid so it can come out of the opening fast which means you get too much lotion. But this is part of the soothing action. The thinness of the lotion means it evaporates and cools your skin producing a soothing effect.A little really does go a long way so you need to take care that you get the right amount and preserve the rest. The price is very reasonable for a birch sap enriched lotion of this type.As you would expect this is a quality and well-tested product from the trusted and market leaving firm L'Oreal.I will use this balm myself and totally recommend it.

It looks as if reviews for several different products are combined on this page so, to avoid any confusion, this review relates to the Hydra Sensitive Post Shave Balm. It’s described as an after shave in the title, but in the sense of a soothing skin cream for after shaving, rather than in the smelly spray sense. Results are likely to vary depending on your skin type and shaving routine. I normally only shave every 2-3 days, use an electric razor, and do so before showering. (I’m told that it’s a good idea to shave after showering, when the stubble is wet, but I prefer to do so beforehand, so that the bits get washed away.)Given this routine, the balm has to wait until I’m done showering, rather than being applied immediately. Nonetheless, it still feels cooling. It’s a very light cream and easily absorbed, though it does feel a little greasy at first, this soon passes. I’m not particularly keen on the smell, but I wouldn’t say it’s unpleasant.I do think using this or similar products after shaving helps prevent sore, dry skin, but – despite having been impressed by other items in the Men Expert range, including their

There are lots of mens facial cleansers, shaving balms & moisturisers around these days and gone are the days when men didn't admit to using them! How to make your products standout? Well, L'Oreal's answers seems to be to have loads of them! I've used a few lately and the USP (unique selling point) here is its targeted at sensitive skin.I don't have epecially sensitive skin but can always benefit from something to sooth my face after a wet shave, so am happy to give this a go!And I must say I like it - goes on easily and spreads thinly meaning a lot goes a long way and is quickly absorbed. It has a slight scent too that's pleasant and not overpowering but does it work?Yes.My skin feels soothed and the razor burn less obvious . The lotion doesn't irritate and the 'stretched' skin areas seem reduced.Leaves my skin feeling great for a good price too so well worth a try!

This is a lovely scented balm that didn't irritate my husband's sensitive skin. He always ends up with reddened skin post-shave, and a small amount of this calmed his skin quickly. It's a very liquid balm and absorbs quickly and easily, without much rubbing to irritate skin further. It dries a tiny bit stickily, as it's water-based, not cream-based.About 10 minutes later, the scent had already faded and my husband's skin felt a little taut, but not dry, so as a precaution, he followed up with his regular L'Oreal Men Sensitive moisturiser. The bottle that I received doesn't look like this - the top on mine was a dull silver, not the shiny one shown in the image, and this is a flat bottle, like a flat deo roll-on, not a round bottle. There's only 125mls, so it's a little expensive for what it is, but my husband did like the immediate cooling effect.

This is a good clean, basic post shave balm. It smells quite nice, feels good on the skin - no greasy feel just a fresh clean soothing lotion after a wet shave. It's thinner than a moisturiser - more of a lotion than a cream. You get a decent sized bottle which will last a couple of months or so I would imagine as you don't need to slap too much of it on. It has a handy snap shut lid so you can guard against spills without losing the lid anywhere.I'm not blown away with the scent but it's quite nice and definitely neutral and non-offensive. I've tried other balms that leave a really lovely smell almost like an aftershave but my guess is that as this is a "hydra-sensitive" product then the lackof a strong scent is part of the deal.

Light, soothing, and with a pleasant, woody smell, there's not much to dislike about this. I'm not sure it's that great for moisturising, but it does what it's supposed to for soothing the skin. It's quite thin, and easily absorbed, and there's no greasiness afterwards. Given how sensitive my skin is, I'd need another lotion a bit later to provide the longer term moisture, but this does what it's supposed to for reducing the irritation and resulting redness. A lot of lotions I find sting because of the alcohol and end up causing more redness, but not this. Could be better with more of a lasting moisturising effect, but it does what it's supposed to well, hence 4 stars.

Brilliant for males with sensitive skin and one that has a nice aroma to it too.Not a greasy or thick feeling to it nor does it make your skin break out in spots like some post shave balms or creams can if being a sensitive skin sufferer. This seemed to go down well with husband after a manual blade shave. Looking at the item you would think it would be a heavy one but really lightweight and would be good for hand luggage, more like a roll on deodorant sized item.Seems to be a product that works for not a big price which is even better.

This L'Oreal Men Expert shaving balm is great. I've been trying it out for the past 2 weeks. Firstly it has a pleasant fragrance vaguely similar to pine but not smelling like cheap antiseptic or floor cleaner. It's quite liquid and goes on well absorbing quickly into my face without leaving a residue or a greasy feeling. Hydrates well and leaves my face feeling fresh after a shave. I like it. It's better than the standard after shave balm that I have used before.

This has quite a thin consistency; a little goes quite a long way. It doesn't burn when it goes on, no matter what state the razor leaves my face in! It has a mild, pleasant smell - which won't interfere with any EDT you use. It leaves my skin feeling rehydrated and soothed. It absorbs very quickly... I kind of wish it hung around a little longer (both the smell and the feeling)!

Pretty good after shave balm - wet shave that is, still the best but can be the most painful!Nicely scented but the scent fades quickly, which is a bonus - there is nothing worse than smelling of after shave for hours in my opinion.A little tacky initially, but that too fades quickly. You are left with a clean shave and NO afterburn.Good manufacturer and a good price.

Confusingly, the reviews for this product combine those for several items; this review is for the 'Hydra Sensitive' Soothing Birch Sap Post-Shave Balm. The scent is subtle and pleasant, and fades to background quickly. The balm is fairly runny, making it easy to apply and rub-in, and is absorbed easily. It's refreshing and soothing on the skin

My husband ( who has trued this out ) tells me that this is very cooling abd soothing . He uses after his usual wet shave , is finding it hydrates well has a very mild fresh fragrance that's not overpowering. Its alcohol free and thus doesn't sting and is good value for the price .
