This educational toy gets a big two thumbs up (if she could do it yet) from my nine month old granddaughter who wasn't quite sure what was going on when it started to talk to her. This toy is designed for interactive use as its aimed at 6 months up and very few infants will understand the basket asking for a piece of fruit under 18 months but an older playmate identifying the pieces for your child will help with advancing their vocabulary.I loved that the basket says 'Please may I have?' as manners seem to be dying out nowadays.Apart from the electronic magic this is also a basic shape sorter that identifies the pieces as they are dropped through the correct holes. The plates also have shaped slots into which the snack items fit.Back to the magic and pressing the butterfly plays songs as well as asking for snack items. There are three play modes and two volume levels (fortunately).Best of all everything fits inside the basket for tidy storage and carrying the basket around will help a newly walking toddler with balance skills.Everything is made of bright and easily cleanable plastic. This one is definitely a winner for us.

I bought this toy about two months ago for my then 12 month old daughter , I went with the yellow basket as I thought she'd like that colour more , she's quite drawn to yellow things. It came with batteries which was a huge plus , my daughter could play with it straight away. As soon as I turned it on, she crawled over straight away and it's been her favourite toy ever since. She loves playing with the toy food , you get 2 biscuits ,2 sandwiches, 2 watermelon slices ,2 oranges, 2 forks , 2 plates, 2 cups and a little picnic blanket. I've not taken it travelling yet but it appears to be very transportable as it all goes in the basket . What I like is that it's a toy that works well for independent play ,she's happy to sit by herself and sort the shapes and ' eat' but it's also a nice social toy with an extra plate with food for another child or even mum or dad to join in ! Overall I rate it 5 stars and would highly recommend it to others !

This is a brilliant educational toy as you would expect from Leapfrog. Perfect for a child aged between 6 months and 18 months. What you get is a sixteen piece picnic set made from robust and colourful wipe clean plastic. It includes:8 x food items (in four different colours and shapes)2 x plates (with cut out shapes to hold each food item)2 x forks2 x cups/beakers1 x blanket1 basketThe lid of the basket is where all the action is, it is interactive and recognises the shapes and colours of the various food items. While playing your child is learning with songs that are both fun, imaginative and educational. There is an on/off switch as well as two volume settings on the lid.The basket can be activated in three ways by lifting the lid, pressing the butterfly or by pushing food shapes through the shape sorter.I have a niece who is a little under one year old and this is her current must have and take everywhere toy.

Took this out of the plain brown box and waited to see what happened. He went straight for it, loved the sounds and the dials. When I had all the bits out of the box the only thing I thought was a little off excellent wast the so called picnic table cloth, meanly sized and of poor quality. The rest of the items were good. The toy has a number of different modes . There is a purple butterfly button that plays songs and asks for the basket to be fed. You can set it up for a picnic with two platesHe particularly likes stuffing the different shapes into the right holes. When he manages it the toy tells him what it was.Definitely think this is worth the money. Also you can turn the volume down a fair way and everything can be stuffed into the basket so the whole thing is surprisingly compact.Oh,and even after several hours of play have not needed to replace the supplied batteries. Thank you for that Leapfrog!

This is a fabulous toy! It is pitched at little ones aged 6-36 months, but we've had children a number of years older than that playing with it, too! The best thing about this toy is that you get a lot of bang for your buck. It works as an engaging, interactive toy, as the basket very politely asks the child to post various fruits, etc into it and responds with reinforcing sounds. It's also a basic shape sorter which the child can play with, with the electronic element switched off. It's also great for role playing and my boys and older visitors enjoy setting up a picnic and deciding who gets what on their plate. The two volume levels are appreciated,as is the fact that it can all be tidied neatly into the basket for storage.

My two kids love it.I actually used to have an older model of this when my daughter was 2, eventually parts were lost and it was put to the bottom of a toy box to be completely forgotten about. They have had loads of fun with this new set.It was nice watching my two play and share and sing along with the songs. They have played with it alot since it arrived. As usual this Leapfrog toy is good quality, sturdy and tough.Kids tend to be a bit rough and this can withstand a lot.The colours are nice and bright, eye catching.Even my baby nephew couldn’t stop touching it when over.Very happy with this and highly recommend.

My 4 yr old daughter was given the original purple/pink one for her 1st birthday and still plays with it now. It was my nephews 1st birthday so she wanted to get him one too. As they dont do the original one in any other colours i got this variation instead. It actually has 4 shapes where the other has 3 (i hadnt really looked at the details as i knew it would be what i wanted) and great with the shape sorter on one side. My nephew loves it and hasnt stopped putting things in and out since he opened. Plus my daughter cant wait to play with him together when we see them next.

This is a lovely little picnic set, it comes with two plates, two forks, 2 cups, a picnic blanket and 8 different shapes that fit through the shape sorting holes on the basket. The top band of the basket lights up and it makes lots of different noises when you push the button on the front. The only thing I don't like about this toy is that the cups have two little holes in the bottom, my two year old wants to use them as normal cups and so becomes frustrated when I stop him from pouring liquid into them from his juice cup. But overall a lovely little set.

My eldest son had the Leapfrog teapot set which follows a similar vein and played with it non stop. Alas it was lost in a house move and my youngest is now old enough for something like this. The basket is a shape sorter come imaginary play set. It comes with plastic crockery, cutlery and food as well as songs and sounds. It has kept my little boy thoroughly entertained and is good bonding time with siblings and parents when we sit and have a "picnic". Really love this toy.

This toy was bought for my 2 year old neice and it has proved to be very popular with her. There are pieces of food (fruit, sandwich, and biscuits) which are different colours and shapes. The talking picnic basket asks for either colours, shapes or items to be inserted into the correct shape holes, so there are several permutations and it helps little-ones learn. There are also 2 plates and some plastic cutlery, all nicely made and sturdy.Very good.

I was looking for a toy that would be fun for my little sister (2yrs old) to use with parts and music, but also encourage her to learn aswell and I defiantly made the right choice choosing this! - she loves it; carries the picnic box with her teddies in it around the house, consistently trying to feed us plastic food, and dances to the music with a beaming smile on her face. Definitely a great time for a great price type of toy.

A lovely item but not the colour i particularly wanted . When searching I wanted "yellow" they were in short supply but this site came up. The image was of a yellow one & pink was not mentioned so I ordered it. It took a little while to arrive due to Corona Virus & my nephews birthday was imminent . He's only one & loves it so no problem there. I just feel a little disappointed that it wasn't what I was expecting.

Colourful picnic basket design with 4 shapes (2 of each and 2 plates with insets to match the shape, so another test). Each shape is recognised when pushed through (there's a switch) and announced. Two levels of sound. Picnic cloth, 2 beakers, 2 forks all contribute to game playing and imagination. More than the usual shapesorter. Played with by g-daughter 4yrs and g-son 16 months

We love this toy! It’s a really cute set, and brightly coloured. The basket sings songs about sharing, and tells them what the shapes are, and what food item they are. We’ve had countless picnics, the teddy’s have had picnics with it as well. It’s great for learning and for imaginative play too, it’s really sturdy. We’ve had this for about 2 years now and it’s still going strong!

Bought my 20 month old daughter this for Christmas. Does what it preaches. She says please and thank you and she imaginary plays a picnic. Loves sorting the shapes. Yes, for the parent the phrases said by the interactive basket can be annoying, but volume control on the product helps with this. Had hours of fun playing with this so far, and I am sure this will carry on.
