Sometimes you spend a bit more on an item for your baby and realise it was completely worth it. I don’t feel this is one of those items.I think the book is great. The pages make a scrunchy sound, which grabs my daughter’s attention and she loves touching the front cover with its 3D owl face. I enjoy the rhyming and the fact that it features some animals less commonly encountered in baby books. She’s a bit too young to really understand peek-a-boo yet, so I suspect this book will grow on her. However, I’m not convinced it’s worth the money. It is good quality and it’s by a trusted brand, but it is quite expensive. There are lots of sets of six books available for a similar price. To me,this book looks better, but maybe not six times better! My daughter is essentially interested in bright colours, hearing my voice and putting the book in her mouth, which I think she could also get from some other cheaper products. There are so many baby things to spend your money on. I don’t think this is one of those excellent value purchases.

I recall having similar items as a child, but none quite so short. The book is really nicely made and though my daughter is only 3.5 months old she really seems to enjoy touching the owl on the front which is crinkly and padded. She already laughs when we say "Peek-a-boo", though she's more taken with the crinkly flaps than the animals hidden behind them at the moment.Apart from the cover, the book contains 4 double page spreads, with a hidden moose, owl, raccoon and beaver and includes some rather over complicated words like "achiever" - I guess not much rhymes with beaver! The animals are rather Noth American in choice and the complicated words means that an older child of 3 or 4 who may still pick this book up when learning to read will find it rather difficult. However for the 6 month old it is a cute book. I don't think it is great value for money though when you consider it costs more than most paperbacks!Update - There are actually 5 double page spreads, I forgot about the bear!

We (grandparents) own a different style peek-a-boo fabric book and Mom specifically requested Santa bring fabric books for home use. As a second child the toddler is well aware of the rewards of 'reading,' one on one time with an adult. As soon as he could begin to self propel he would bring his book, that being fabric could remain in his custody, and slap it down on a lap, clearly indicating his desire for reading time. Mom mentioned that he particularly responds to the owl and I checked that that's the only animal to cross reference to materials at our house. Peek-a-boo is a powerful interactive tool. It provides stimulation, a recognizable and anticipate-able routine, and a hands on activity so that the child isn't just passive.

Purchase fulfilled by Amazon so everything was top-notch. Product is excellent and 3-month baby loves the book even though the box says it's for 6month+; something I don't think was stated in item description. Didn't give 5star coz some of the stitching on the book is coming undone and had to sew back into place - not up to usual Lamaze standards. Nevertheless, fantastic product with colouful pics and lovely peek-a-boo flaps - would highly recommend. Please note: animal featured are mainly American ones with moose, racoon & bear included - how do you make sounds for these animals when reading for your baby??!

This soft book is lovely and has wonderful crinkly pull-down bits to get children involved in reading their first book with you. The colours are bright and the words are simple enough for a youngish child to follow. A great way to introduce kids to reading right from the start and also to introduce a few animals. It's quite short in length - only about four or five pages; just enough for a child's short attention span. The words are cheerful and in the style of "Who's hiding under there? Peek-a-boo, it's the bear!" All in all, I love this book and would definitely buy more of this sort of thing from Lamaze.

This is a lovely cloth book, well worth the price! I'm a grandma now, so I bought this for my grandson. I wish my children could have enjoyed such a great book. The colors are beautiful. The fabric is soft. The peek-a-boo crackly flaps are something I'm sure my grandson will have fun with it it for several years. This book is very well made, too. You can tell it's not going to fall apart! Definitely a great purchase! I just bought another Lamaze cloth book yesterday that is touchy feely. Can't wait to see it!

I didn't expect my 12 week old to be as excited about this book as she is because I thought she may be a bit young. However she loves it and smiles away. We read it together several times in a row so it clearly keeps her attention. Peek a boo is obviously a great concept for a book for this age group too as it's something they probably already laugh at, and the big Lamaze eyes are such a hit, and are all the way through this book. Only improvement would b a loop to attatch to pram, car seat etc.

This book is fantastic and my 4mth old loves it. He's a little young to be looking through it while I read to him. I try but he just wants to grab the pages and hear them crinckle and look at the bright colours. The price was very cheap but you need to be willing to wait as it took two weeks to arrive. I would have given this product 5 stars only the way the pages have been sown together most pages have the first letter missing as it is in the seam, not a big deal but it would have been nice.

Artwork exceptional for keeping young infants attention with bright colors, contrast, large eyes, etc.The crinkle insets within fabric pages add sound and interest. The peek a boo features are adorable and as baby grows, they can begin to move those " flaps" themselves to see what's behind. The ring is awesome for hanging as a colorful mobil item or allows baby something to grip on to. Love that it is washable. This book has engaged grandbaby beginning at age 2 months.

This book is great! It compliments the Olivia toy Lamaze have on sale very well and my daughter loves to read this book, scrunch all the pages and flaps then waggle her Oliva Owl when the story is over. Also seeing as this is a fabric book, when she has finished with it for the day and its covered in all a baby can throw at it, I can wash it no problems (I did have to iron the flaps out a little on a low heat)Once again a little gem from Lamaze!

I tried to find books for my one year old grandson that were made in America, but that proved to be a fruitless search. I ordered this book, and it is cute and looks (and has that crinkly sound) just as described, however the last page has a flaw: the animal that is supposed to be hidden under a flap, but the flap is way too short and the animal is fully visible. I guess they ran out of material at the last minute?

My son is coming up for 5 months old so i was randomly buying stuff as us dads do, and out of the many items i bought this is what he plays with the most, it really gets his attention and i would strongly recommend it as this gives us those valuable seconds to plug him up with the next spoonfull etc. The best parts to this soft book is the bright colours and the crunchy sounds as its played with, well done Lamaze.

I love this book so much I've ordered more for gifts! My son has a short attention span and not much patience for most books (he's still very young but it's nice to cultivate an enjoyment for books early on), but between the crinkly sounds, the flaps and the chewable fabric this book keeps him well occupied. It's also very durable and can withstand a fair amount of abuse!

One of my baby’s favourite toys (she’s 6 months). She can spend ages turning all the pages and chewing on different parts. The colours are great and it includes a little rattle in one of the pages and lots of creakily pages that my girl loves. All Lamaze toys seem really well designed to pack as many textures and sensory things as possible. Would very much recommend.

My son absolutely loves this book. I bought it a few months ago to entertain him on a flight, and he was really engaged by the pages. Now that he is 8 months old he loves pulling the flaps away on his own as I read it to him and smiles throughout. He can easily sit with it and occupy himself for a few mins on his own as well. Would definitely recommend this!
