I waited to post my review until now when the pods are available for sale in the UK and I have been able to test it more thoroughly than I was able to with the 'taster pack' of 12 pods which came with the machine. I have a Nespresso shop near me at Westfield and so was able to pick up my new supplies and try some more of the coffee in store as well as talking though the new machine and its advantages with one of the staff. I have been lucky enough to have had the Nespresso Creatista Coffee Machine, Black by Sage, which converted me to Nespresso made coffee and I've been over the moon with that.To my surprise I prefer the Vertuo to the Creatista but whether it's the better machine for you dependson a few questions -- do you like longer cups of coffee?- do you drink your coffee black or with just a little milk?- do you buy your coffee from Nespresso? If you answer yes to all three, as I do, then I think it's a no brainer - the Vertuo is the right machine for you. If you like cappuccinos and macchiatos and prefer to buy compatible pods rather than Nespresso's own brand then it's probably not and you're better off sticking with the original style. The Coffee=========The Vertuo's great strength is in making longer drinks. There are four sizes of pods, of which the smallest is for espresso and the largest for long mugs of coffee. The sizes are Espresso (40ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Mug (230ml), Alto (414ml). The Creatista is fabulous for making milky coffee styles but I drink my coffee black and would generally use two pods and two Cafe Lungo cycles for my morning mug of coffee. Although the pod I use for the Vertuo mug size (50p per pod) is more expensive that the standard nespresso pod (35p per pod) I need only use one rather than the two I have been using, so it works out fine in terms of cost increase. The most expensive pod is 60p for the 230ml cup. The coffee makes a wonderful deep crema which I was taught in the Nespresso shop to mix into the black coffee liquid with a teaspoon and it really does taste very good indeed - wonderfully flavourful and with real depth. The new pods are non standard size (compared to the familiar pods) and have a bar code in them so that the machine knows how much water to use, how long to infuse etc. I think they are patented so it may be Nespresso's way of trying to eliminate the competition of cheaper pods. In the shop they also explained to me that when making a coffee with milk the milk should be poured into the cup first and then the crema takes on a milky quality - which is called a reverso.Function=======The Vertuo uses centrifugal force - what they call centrifusion - to make the coffee rather than applying pressure as in the Creatista. You can hear the pods spinning in the machine. It's this which allows the spectacular crema and I think it does give a better flavour. My concern is that there is more to go wrong with this machine - it reads barcodes, the lid lifts on touch rather than manually and so on.Overall, I am delighted with the machine and will report back when I've used it over a longer period of time. I hope the new technology will prove to be resilient. I did have problems with my Creatista and Nespresso serviced it - even providing another machine on loan while mine was being fixed. Krups are a good manufacturer and I hope the machine has longevity. Set up and cleaning is straightforward.Design======It's nice slim design for the work top and the water reservoir can move around so that the configuration suits your set up. It's not as nice looking as the Creatista and feels less substantial.Recycling========I have recycled 100% of the aluminium pods - the coffee goes for compost. I can drop them off at the Nespresso boutique, have them pick up and in my borough they have been running a pilot scheme where they are picked up in a special purple bag in my recycling. When I've ordered online I've received my order next day at a Click and Collect point. It really is very good customer service.Excellent for the longer cup of coffee

I have been lucky enough to be given this product to try. This is an unbiased review of the product.Firstly, I have been a Nespresso customer since 2008, so I am aware of their product line and the quality of their offering, which in my opinion is second to none. Before I received this new machine, I had a U+Milk Nespresso machine - I thought things couldn't get better than that. I am a heavy coffee drinker and I know what I like in my coffee and my old machine was just amazing. However when I received the machine, I knew this was going to be a good product from Nespresso. the packaging is sleek and it comes with a good selection of Coffees. The machine is larger than my old machine, but they have not compromised on the style of the machine... it is still sexy looking - if it is possible for a coffee machine to look sexy - and it takes pride of place on my kitchen counter. The coffee pods are larger than the Nespresso classic pods and have a barcode on them, so the machine knows just how much water to run through the pod to make a full mug of coffee. This is also adjustable, so you can tailor the amount of water by capsule size and the machine remembers your settings. As someone who always added hot water to espresso to get a full mug of coffee, this is just amazing - one button and you get a whole mug of gorgeous coffee with no hassle. The machine is fully automated even to the point of the top of the machine opening for you to insert a capsule - is this a risk with too many moving parts? only time will tell. The water talk is huge, but when you are making mugs of coffee, that is well needed. Now to the coffee.... yes they are right.... you get a lot of Crema from the coffee pods, the most I have ever seen. But that isn't the be all and end all... the coffee is actually very nice, no bitterness from any of the selection included with the machine and generally smooth. I am sure there will be a pod for everyone that will be their favourite. The temperature of the coffee is also very good - probably one of the best compared to others on the market. So I guess you are wondering why I have only given 4 stars - well that is simple... the price of the coffee pods. Nespresso classic pods are around 37p each and you can also get them cheaper elsewhere. As these pods are new, there is no other suppliers for them other than Nespresso and they are charging between 50p and 60p per pod..... £5 for 10 coffees or £3.70 for ten coffees.... I like to buy my pods in bulk, so this is going to be very expensive. I hope the cost of the pods come down over time as this will improve my rating to the full 5 stars. If you like a good mug of coffee with a machine that is stylish and easy to use, this is the one for you... just be ready for the price shock when you order new pods :)

Having been the proud owner of a Nespresso Inisia for the past 6 months, I was really interested to try the new VertuoPlus. I have become very dependent on my coffee from the first of the day to the last after dinner, and found my Inisia absolutely fantastic, but WOW the VertuoPlus is so much better. Firstly when I unpacked the machine, the quality feel of the main body was very apparent, the styling and finish of the capsule release mechanism and the Coffee button are first class. Add to this the significantly larger water storage ( a very respectable 1.7 litres) with the facility of positioning it to either side or to the back of the main unit. The added facility of an adjustable cup support, giving support to 4 different sizes of cup is great, ensuring no spillages and use of larger insulated coffee cups. The capsule open and close lever is really light and sensitive ensuring the head of the machine opens with a feather lite touch requiring no effort to open and close the capsule head. Once set up and put through the initialising cleaning programme, I set about making my first coffee. I chose a Stormio mug sized capsule from the selection pack of 12 provided with the machine, I placed the capsule into the holder, touched the open/close lever and the machine whirred into action. Within 5 seconds the machine started its capsule identification process reading the barcode on the capsule to tell the machine the size and intensity of the required brew and then started to spin into brewing action. The noise was quite low and not too overbearing. The aroma of the brew hit starlight away filling the air with amazing odours of fresh coffee shop which was brilliant. Then as the brew came to completion, the crema was around 2 cm deep and the rich dark coffee underneath started to settle in the mug. I added milk from my heater and set for my first taste of VertuoPlus coffee - an absolute delight. This brew in comparison to the Inisia brew was a lot richer, more depth of flavour and surprisingly significantly hotter. I have tried most of the coffee sample capsules, and have found that there is a very wide range of sizes, intensities and strengths. Ranging from Alto at 414 ml, Mug at 230ml, Gran Lungo at 150ml and Espresso at 40ml, all determined by the capsules barcode providing a one touch brewing operation. My favourite Coffe up to now is Fortado which is a strong Gran Lungo. All in all I am very impressed with my new machine and look forward to great coffee, a must for coffee lovers.

I was a bit apprehensive about this campaign from the start. We already had a coffee pod machine at home which I was perfectly happy with. But, this machine has now taken its place on the kitchen counter. It looks sleek and really makes a statement. You can't help but notice it when people visit. The initial set up was so simple, just fill the hopper and pick your pod. I was delighted that I could swivel the hopper to the side which suited, being a lefty this made my day!The Nespresso mugs are a nice touch as I was concerned as to how much water would be needed for the larger drinks. While it's easy to stop the flow it does seem to take a bit longer to slow down and stop. The barcode technology used is just amazing. Knowing that the pod you've put in won't overflow a cup is reassuring.Brewing up a Stormio: I am hooked on the Stormio pods. They're by far my favourite so far. The crema is thick and delicious and stays right down to the last mouthful. The sample pods included in the box are a really nice touch but perhaps more of the "flavoured" variety would have been nice.Flavours: I'll be honest, I'm not much of a fan of flavoured coffee but thought I would have liked the caramel pod. I've always liked the caramel machioto my previous machine could make. I didn't like the Nespresso one. The caramel was just too subtle. Most people I offered this to thought the same. They either wanted a sugar in it or a shot of caramel syrup to complete the hit.I found the hazelnut to the same. They smell lovely but just don't deliver on the taste for me. We had 10 adults together last Saturday, everyone noticed the coffee machine and all the pods and were instantly intrigued and of course opted for a coffee. Those who had a regular coffee with or without milk thought the coffee was lovely and finished their drinks. Those who took either the caramel or hazelnut tended to drink about half of it and politely decline the rest. While the design of the machine is excellent and it feels sturdy and well put together I do find it difficult to get the waste container removed from the back. Perhaps I'm just being over cautious and over time it'll become much easier. I would have liked to have found (at least) one of the pod recycle bags in the box. From my short time with the machine I can say it's certainly better than my previous pod appliance and makes a much better cup of coffee. Does the initial outlay and the ongoing price of pods justify it? I don't know yet.

This machine is the best Nespresso machine I have owned and makes a superb freshly brewed cup of coffee every time, in record time. The machine houses a huge water tank which keeps you in coffee for the whole day, along with a substantial capsule disposal tank, holding 12 mug size capsules before requiring emptying. The machine is robust, operates extremely quietly and looks very sleek and is an asset to my kitchen. The aroma of all the capsules, including the Decaffeinato one is lovely and rich and inviting. All of the coffees I have tasted have been enjoyable and even ones with a lower intensity taste of rich, freshly brewed coffee. I have not had one capsule fail to make a perfect drink. The machine offers a premium service for the money, with one touch opening to enable easy insertion and then one touch closing it. With a press of the button, a fast and powerful coffee is dispensed into the cup. I have not experienced any splashing or dripping from the machine and the speed the coffee is made is superb, as is the hotness of the drink. Each capsule has a barcode on it, which enables the machine to read the capsule and instantly know how much water to dispense. No need to press different settings for different cup sizes. As a regular lungo drinker with Nespresso, I frequently use two capsules in my other machine to get a drink the size I want, but with this machine, there are four sizes of drinks. I am drinking the mug size regularly and it works out cheaper for the capsule than two of the ones for my other machine. So far, I have only found two negatives with the machine and really these are quite minor things. As the top of the machine lifts up I need to be careful where I position it on my work surface, otherwise it hits the bottom of my cupboards when I open the machine and insert the capsule. The other negative is due to the size of the capsules and the size of the boxes they come in, storage is slightly more difficult and I can see this being an issue if I want to keep a variety of capsules. As an estimation of size, the capsule box is approximately four times the size of the boxes for the other nespresso machine that I have. So far I have fallen in love with the Elvazio capsule, which at an intensity of 4 surprised me as I am normally a lover of the 7 or 8 intensity capsule. There is a coffee capsule size for a travel mug which I am looking to try next as that will be ideal when travelling.

I have to say at the start of this I like coffee, I like coffee a lot and are currently spending a fortune in a well know coffee chain buying an oversized latte daily for what will be a price tag of nearly £1000 by the end of the year! I have looked into my own barista expresso machine, but it is a hassle with the cleaning being a right pain so eventually gave up! This is where Nespresso wins no fuss no cleaning, apart from the odd descaling once a month. However, till now the draw back was the size of the coffees that come out of Nespresso machines 25ml ristretto, 40ml expresso, and 110ml lungo to my taste these never really had that caffeine laden coffee I was after, strength of flavour yes,but not an eye opener!Well you can now forget all of the hassle and get a coffee that really makes your eyes water with delight with the new Nespresso VertuoPlus. I have only had mine a day but already I have fallen in love with it. It produces coffee with depth of flavour, and of a size that means you aren’t reaching to make another almost immediately after finishing the first with 40ml expresso, 150ml grand lungo, 230ml mug!, and a stoncking 414ml alto. But its not just that the coffee itself looks and tastes more like the one I am used to from my favourite coffee chain; its deeper, richer and with a great crème on the top (small details matter). The machine itself is simple plug it in, fill up the water reservoir. After the 20 second setup, push gently on the silver opener at the front at a smooth wirl will reveal the coffee pod receptor (very star trek), drop the chosen pod in (as always with Nespresso there is a mind boggling 20 different pods to choose from, for even the most ardent coffee fan), and let the machine do the rest. Nespresso have again taken the fiddling out of even setting the right amount of water, each capsule has a bar code around its edge and therefore the machine knows which pod and therefore which water/coffee mix has been selected. Again a small wiring noise can be heard as centrifusion (centrifugal) technology is used to extract the very last ounce of flavour (and caffeine) from the capsule.Hats off to the clever team at Nespresso & Krups because at the end of the day its all about the coffee not the flashing lights and they have deliver real taste in spades. If your thinking about what to get someone for Christmas who loves coffee you could not go wrong buying one of these.

This is the first Nespresso machine I've owned. In the past I've had a Tassimo machine, however I wasn't too impressed with it and got an espresso machine instead. I've always heard good things about Nespresso machines so always fancied trying one out. This Nespresso machine is a new style named Vertuo - they use a new style pod. The coffee pods are more oval, and have a barcode on so the machine knows how to make your drink.I received this machine in black and I'm very pleased with how sleek and smart it looks. I only have a small kitchen and I'm pleased it's not too large. The water container at the back can swivel around to be on either side, very handy. There is also a bin attached to the back that the used pods fall into. When I first got the machine and read the instructions, I became confused as to why the lid wouldn't open it. It took me a while to realise it's electronic so the machine needs to be plugged in! Simply click the silver lever on the front of the machine upwards, and the lid opens up.The machine comes with a taster box of various coffee pods, packaged very nicely like a box of chocolates! They have a good variety to try from espresso, to medium and mug sized coffees. I've managed to try a few now and I've been impressed with them all! Although not sure I grasp the point of a decaf espresso...The button on the top of the machine glows green when it's ready, and it doesn't take long at all. The machine isn't too loud at all either. Drinks can be topped up further with a touch of a button, however I have found the sizes to be quite accurate! I have a travel mug which I have used the mug pods with and it fills it nicely to the top.I'm very pleased with the temperature of the drinks. A pet hate of my old tassimo machine was the luke warm drinks it would make - the drinks from this machine are nice and hot!I've had a quick look and the Nespresso pods seem to be around 50p a pod. I imagine there won't be any third party ones for a while as it's brand new. The downside is the postage costs online - however there is a Nespresso shop in a city near me I may have to visit.Overall a very impressive coffee machine! It makes great tasting coffee with no fuss, and takes up minimal space.

Coffee is what gets me up in the mornings and the Nesspresso Vertuo Plus is giving me more of an incentive. With a water container which can me moved to either behind,to the left or right of the machine.I have mine to the left and it fits perfectly in to a corner of my work top. The hardest part is picking a capsule to insert, with such a variety of strengths, blend and notes of fruit, spices and even chocolate i didn't know which to start with.I eventually chose the Solelio which is fruity and light bodied .The machine recognises the barcode on the capsules 'Centrifusion Technology'. With one touch of the Centrifusion Technology'.With one touch of the lever and the top opens, insert the capsule anothertouch and it closes. When the coffee is brewed press the button and it pours in to the mug. This machine offers a choiceof four size cups/mugs..I like a mug and I also like milk in my coffee. On my first try I put cold milk in to the mug first and found it was barely warm enough to drink. On the second try I heated to milk in a microwave while preparing the coffee. It was perfect and watching the coffee hit the milk and mix while keeping the cream on the top is fantastic to watch.with another touch of the lever and the top opens and the used capsule is rejected in to a bin behind. The bin is easilyremoved when full and if you want Nespresso offered a recycling service which I will be using. All in all this is theeasiest and best experience I have had with a coffee machine,if there is any negative is that there is too much choice of coffees. It takes longer to decide which to have than making and drinking the coffee, but maybe that's just me.

When I seen the box of the NESPRESSO Vertuo I was already smitten, you just know that they’ve put a lot of thought into the production of this product. The machine is a little bigger then I would’ve thought but that’s not a problem for me. It has some clever functions, starting with reading the code on the pods and knowing what kind of pod it is and how much water to dispenses. I love how you just open and close the machine with a little touch which is quite futuristic. The automatic pod disposal on the back of the machine is great, doesn’t leave a mess at all. The pods are in different sizes so you always know straight away what kind of coffee your getting, helps when your still half asleep!I love the variety of different flavours and coffee strengths, a perfect coffee for everyone. I love the frothy top, the coffee’s look and taste like they are from a coffee shop in my opinion.Only negative I noticed is that at the moment you can only purchase the pods on the Nespresso webpage and they aren’t cheap. But it’s luxury coffee and my only luxury so it is well worth it.I’ve always wanted a pod coffee machine but I’m big on recycling but I’ve never come across a coffee pod machine with pods that offers that... until the NESPRESSO Vertuo came out. You can order recycling bags and schedule a collection which I haven’t done yet but it seems simple enough. Now that I’ve used the product for a bit I’m still in love with it, the coffee is just delicious! The machine is easy to operate and to clean. I can only recommend this product as we love it and can’t imagine a life without it anymore!

I've not had a Nespresso machine before, I'm not keen on an espresso so it's not seemed like something for me. However with the new Vertuo machines there is the option of different size coffees depending on the capsules you put in. This seems like a great idea and it is good that the machine comes with a tester set of different sizes to try. The great thing is that if you prefer a larger less strong drink you can alter the amount of water used and the machine will remember for next time, this means that my espressos are now a bit longer and mellower which suits me better. I do like the machine with it's motorised opening and closing, and the barcode reading to get the right sized drink works well. It's great that the used capsules are stored in the section at the back which is easily removed when necessary. It does take up quite a lot of space but you can adjust the position of the water tank which helps. I'm not used to frothy coffees as I usually use a filter machine but I like it and it works particularly well if you put the milk in first! To really appreciate your coffee I recommend glass mugs to see the beauty of the drink, currently there are 2 free ones available when you buy a welcome pack of 120 capsules on the Nespresso website. I will probably not be using this every day as the capsules aren't very cheap and can only be obtained from the Nespresso website or stores, but it does make a lovely coffee so I will be using this for treats or when I really need a boost!

I'm glad I have one, but I don't think I'd be as happy if I'd bought this product at full price. The coffee isn't to my taste, drinkable but not preferable. Ive tried all the ones it comes with and I must say I find them to be a little watery. I wish there was a way to use other coffee pods with this machine, but with the barcode technology I suppose the point is that you keep going back to Nespresso and that way the company makes more money! But it's a shame because I feel like I'm missing out on other coffee. That said, I am loving using this machine each morning. It's currently on my bedroom side and doesn't even look a bit out of place there. A really chic design. And its so fast!I can literally roll out of bed every morning, pop a pod in, push a button and in seconds the place is full of the amazing smell of fresh coffee and I have a coffee in my hands ready to go for the day. It's just SO convenient, and that's the main reason I'm considering keeping it. I was also really impressed with how many types of pods it comes with. But a little concerned it's going to be difficult to buy them after as I think you can only get them online? I have a job where I work long hours and so am rarely in for delivery drivers.

This machine is sleek, stylish and impressive yet small enough to be unobtrusive in the kitchen. The range of coffee flavours is a delight, yet it would be nice to have more mellow capsules, a mocha for example. Our favourite was definitely the hazelino but it would have been nice to try more flavoured coffee like caramel. So many were strong enough to taste slightly bitter, such as the Stormio but the fruity and floral coffees like Giornio and Solelio were amazing. Better than anything else on the market. One of the frustrations is that the crema doesn't really have a purpose, it sits on top of the coffee then at the bottom of the cup.I can tell the quality of the coffee is higher than other machines we have owned but likewise the capsules are on the pricier side. It's so simple to use which was delightful and easy to clean. The top opens at a touch and the capsule container empties cleanly with no leakage from the used pods. The centrifugal system is quiet and the coffee is ready effortlessly and quickly. A better range of flavours and I would give this a full 5 stars. Presumably these will be added to the range before we know it.

I was super excited to see my new VertuoPlus had arrived yesterday and was quick to get it unboxed and up and running. The packaging was very simple and well thought out, and the milktray style starter pods are a classy touch. The instructions are easy to follow, although could perhaps be a bigger font or laid out better as they do try to cram a lot of info onto one page. First impressions are of a well put together device, that is simple to use with two main buttons to get it going. I was very surprised by how quiet it was in operation, having used a friends traditional Nespresso machine I expected it to be either the same or louder, but it's defiantly more hushed. Once I'd chosen my desired coffee,a couple of steps later I had a perfectly poured cup of coffee in a rather snazzy glass mug, plus it was just the right temperature and delicious too! A great start, and I can't wait to try more of the coffees out. My only negative comment re the machine, is that the when preparing a coffee with milk, it could perhaps be a little hotter so as not to get cold so quickly, maybe a little more practice with milk quantities will help!

I was so pleased to receive the machine, on opening the box it peeled apart revealing my new best friend. No clumsy stuck on polystyrene here.Super easy to set up, in fact it took about 3 minutes to get ready and away we went. The following morning I had 4 delicious Giornio coffees and cleaned the house with amazing gusto. My husband loves the coffee to and his favourite is stormio.Making the coffee is super simple and requires only one touch, the capsules look great too.I particularly like that the used capsules get emptied into a container at the back which means I no longer drip boiling water on my toes. The machine is sturdy and well built and I'd happily recommend to a coffee lover.Slightly disappointed that there aren't third party capsules on the market as the capsules are a bit more expensive but for the taste it's definitely worth it.

The Nespresso Vertuo Plus is at the cutting edge of coffee technology. From the sleek shiny finish to the set up that takes minutes I have to say this machine out smarts all Coffee Machines. Set up and initial clean takes all of five minutes and with a coffee taking another minute to produce you can have a wonderful smooth coffee of your choice from box to cup within 6 minutes. The choice of coffee available is also great there is a coffee for everyone out there from the suttle smooth coffee to the strong espresso. The machine itself has a large water container meaning no topping up after every coffee, it also has a great pod extraction system meaning your not fiddling with pods after each use.The automatic opening and closing system is a great addition so all you need to do is fill the water and choose your favourite blend of coffee
