I bought the 18 oz bottle so I could have a water bottle in my handbag or backpack for those days when I wasn't planning on exercising or working.I bought the 27 oz bottle for exercising and the 40 oz for work when I am unable to refill my bottle frequently.I was surprised by the how large the sports cap and the opening of the bottle appeared especially being used to using bottled water but quickly appreciated the size when I gave the bottle a clean before using. I found the flow of the sports cap quite good as well. I like that the volume and speed of the flow isn't stingy as compared to commercial bottled water sport caps and you also don't have to suck as hard because of the vent on the Klean Kanteen.I have no complaints to make about the 'chirping'sound which I have seen in some reviews. Unless you plan on gulping 18 oz or more of water down all at once (which would probably cause a few 'chirps' over a few minutes) during an important presentation in a darkened and silent room which might make a few people turn their heads, I would not put be put off or embarrassed by a few 'chirps' at all. Anyways, the sound is more like a little burble. The plastic cap did taste plastic-y at the beginning despite being given a clean with soapy warm water. I gave it a little soak in diluted apple cider vinegar and water, then drained it through the valve a few times and it's fine now.I also appreciate the thought put into the design of the lip of the bottle and the quality of manufacturing. Drinking from the rounded smoothness of the lip at the opening is pleasant and a nice change from a rough plastic bottled water edge.I purchased the colors:Golden Poppy: not as orange as it appears on my laptop, a sunny yellow side and very cheerful. My favorite.Pink Anemone: hot dark pinkChannel Island: I am really disappointed with this color. I was looking forward to a bright sky blue like the photo but it is a flat dull medium blue with a hint of green. I think this shade might be Bondi Blue.

This is my 3rd steel bottle purchase and this time i got what i wanted. To start with I was looking for stainless steel bottle because plastic bottles (irrespective of how good quality you use) always gives that distinct smell to the water when you drink after long time. The main differenece btween this bottle and the 2 I ordered earlier is perhaps the type of (sipper) cap. The one i order 1st was good however sipper cap was made of hard plastic and broke the 1st day when the bottle slipped and fell on the cap. Another problem with this one was the sipper cap edge where you put your finger in to hold the bottle was sharp and my 6yr odl was unable to hold the bottle.Next one i ordered was easier to hold but you had to really suck hard to get the water out. This bottle has non e of these problems and really the one i was after. I read the reviews and see that people have complained about 2 things.1. Sipper cap leaks - I see that if you dont close the cap after drinking the water then only it leaks and obviously it will. I dont see this as a problem.2. Dish washer took off the bottle colour. I ordered stainless steel bottle without colour and this this issue doesnt bother me.P.s1. I am also happy that this bottle doesnt need a straw.2. I am able to fit the sipper cap to my other bottle from different company perfectly so I've ordered a new cap

I've gone through a lot of water bottles trying to find the best one for my child and I keep coming back to Klean Kanteen as my favorite. The main reasons are it's:1) Stainless steel with a silicone spout and BPA-free plastic cap, so it's durable and doesn't leach chemicals2) Easy to take apart and put together. There are two pieces you unscrew or screw together - what could be easier?3) Easy to wash. It can go in the dishwasher and there are no inaccessible nooks and crannies like on many other bottles I've seen4) Easy to use. My 6 year old has no trouble opening and closing it, which is not always the case with other bottles5) Easy to find if you want extra ones or ever need replacement parts (I haven't yet)5)It looks good!. Clean and simple with nice colors.Obviously, it works for adults as well so it can do double-duty if you ever need a water bottle yourself. What's not to love?Tip: if your child is younger, say 5 and under, you might want to go with the smaller 12 oz bottle as the 18 oz is a bit heavier for backpacks when it's full of water. For older kids who need more water the 18 oz is perfect in my view.

Bought this as I have the screw top before and is excellent. As with the screw top bottle very durable. It gets dropped copious times and not much dents. Doesn't leave a taste in your mouth and keeps it cool for a long time. This is watertight ...~well it would be if I didn't keep forgetting to put the spout down '◔ ̯◔ˋ '◔ˬ◔ˋAlso I've noticed when put on side and not secured properly can drip. Just have to be very very vigilantSomeone said collects gunk around spout... mine doesn't but if did I'd clean. But with your mouth around spout all times surely you would clean it if you slobbered a lot. Saying that I've not needed toThe size is great I drink approx 2 litres water a day this size means I'm not filling up all the time.If you want a dainty little fashion bottle this ain't it.If you want a safe, dependable, functional bottle then you've got it but I like carrying this around not just because I'm thirsty all the time but I think it looks kewl personallyI'd recommend

I love these bottles. They are durable and stainless steel. This means that any water you put in them will not be contaminated by the leaching chemicals of plastic. Kids today are the first generation that are really going to face this hazard. When I was a kid everything wasn't stored, heated, or frozen in plastic so the cumulative effect over my life is minimal. Bottom line is that this bottle is convenient, durable and healthier. I own several of these and use them almost daily for water or home made smoothies. If you put anything other than water in them I recommend rinsing and cleaning them sooner than later. When my smoothie dries on because I procrastinated it can be hard to clean inside of them. You will need a good brush. Still, that is the only drawback I can find and my child is better for drinking her clean water out of this than anything plastic. I have owned these for years and they are indeed completely stainless.

This is mostly what I was looking for, specifically trying to get away from so much plastic, which tend to add a bad taste. This Kanteen type is meant to fit in the normal bike cage bottle holder, but I could tell that it was going to get scratched up pretty quick using the aluminum tube-type of bottle holder. So I switched out my bottle holder with a plastic type (looks more like a cup holder), which works better with this 18 oz. Kanteen bottle.Lastly, the rubber cap I hope will lose it's smell. There's that characteristic rubber tire smell in the little valve and while it doesn't taint the taste of the water necessarily, you can smell it as you drink so it's kind of the same thing. If you remove the top and taste the water, the water is fine. So maybe, over a short period of time, the top (rubber valve), will become scent free.

Have been using these bottles for several years. I have tried all manner of plastic (BPA-free of course), insulated glass bottles and even other stainless steel bottles. This brand's bottles are durable, don't rust and the opening is wide enough to get a brush in there to do a good cleaning. They don't stain and smells don't hang around, either. The myriad of other bottles have had their issues and don't last. However, I still have the first Klean Kanteen bottle that I purchased 8 years ago, and it is still in excellent condition. (I can't say the same for all those other bottles I've tried.) In fact, I just ordered yet an other one for a family member to start using.I recommend them. And no...I don't work for the company, and I did not receive anything to put up this review.

Klean Kanteen with the sports nozzle is the best ever. It doesn't leak all over the please, the light blue is beautiful, and I take my water bottle with me everywhere every day! It's changed my life style, because now I always have water to drink and I'm not compelled to buy pop and spend money, I always have my water. I seriously love Klean Kanteen. Another great thing? The sports nozzle is easy to drink out of, instead of opening a lid and drinking from a bottle, I'm seriously like a child, or a 90's infomercial, and dump water all over my self. Which isn't so bad, it dries, but it's a little embarrassing because I commute on foot all the time, and sometimes I need to drink and walk at the same time.I don't know why I can't handle it, oh well. XD

The bottle is great - it does what it is supposed to. Delivery time was as expected. The cap is a problem for a couple of reasons:1) The mouthpiece is larger than the previous version and doesn't come with a cap. That means that the previous version's cap doesn't fit, which leaves you with a piece you put in your mouth that isn't protected from rolling on the ground, etc.2) The rubber part of the mouthpiece is a welcome addition as it is more comfortable and the valve is much improved, BUT the rubber is splitting at the neck after 2 months of use. Pulling the mouthpiece up (open) is probably what caused it. Note that I wasn't something inappropriate like a pair of pliers or channellocks to pull up the mouthpiece, just my fingers.

I purchased the Klean Kanteen water bottle for my son at the beginning of the 2015-2016 school year. His school lets the kids bring water bottles to leave on their desks ... they can drink from their water bottle when thirsty. It is now April 2016 and the water bottle has held up great! It is very durable and keeps beverages cold. I put ice and water in the bottle in the morning before school and the water bottle keeps the water cold throughout the school day (my son prefers ice cold water and this bottle keeps the water cold for him). Am also very happy that I don't have to worry about plasticizers and other harmful chemicals leaching into my son's drinking water. This was a great purchase!

Our household uses these water bottles daily. For my little ones I had been using 12 oz, but 5 yo started needing more. This 16oz is the right size for him at school. I also started preferring this size myself on day hikes, not too heavy but plenty of H2O. We hand wash and occasionally dishwasher wash both lid and bottle (more likely to have paint wear off faster if using dishwasher). No bad taste, does not leak if top is securely closed. Kids can open sport top independently to drink but never close it well, so the 2yo has been known to soak her car seat with an upside down bottle. This new sport top still has softer spout but no separate dust cap.

I have three different sizes of these bottles--the 40-oz., 20,-oz. and the 18-oz. The 40 goes into my backpack as a water reserve, but it's also good to have outside if you're digging ditches and need a lot of water. The 18-oz. fits into a standard water bottle holder (the kind for hiking, not the ones for Poland Springs-type bottles). So I used that as a replacement for the old plastic one I had. Works great. I also carry it to work with me so I can drink water instead of soda and other beverages (hey, water is free!).I only own the stainless steel ones, not the painted ones. I beat on my outdoor equipment, so I'm more function over form.

This was an upgrade from the smaller version so that our kid can carry more water now that they're getting bigger (and thirstier)! It's got all the same features - a nice sports cap that's got positive closure and doesn't leak. A finger loop to carry it with. A wide neck that allows for quick filling and easy cleaning, while being narrow enough for a child to hold. The stainless steel has already taken plenty of knocks and proven to be tough enough. The paint is durable too, with no significant scratches after 6 months of regular use so far.I'd heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a water botle for kids aged 6 and up.

I liked this one. It's stainless steel and doesn't have any steel taste. I use this when I'm working out. It's easy to drink from it while on an elliptical machine. It doesn't spill, too, since it has a locking mechanism. There's no need to twist open to drink. Just pull the water spout with your mouth and that's it. This is not a huge container. It's just right. My only concern is the air intake section below the handle. It's a bit difficult to clean. At the moment, it has white blemish which I can't easily rub away with my finger. I use hot water over it and it's still there.

I will admit that I have a weakness for a new water bottle. My husband often rolls his eyes when I unload groceries and out comes one more re-usable water bottle. Something about always having water with me just makes me happy. But with every other re-usable container I have purchased, I have lost the excitement about it within a week. And then it just gets relegated to sit in the cupboard with all of the other forgotten containers. But not this one! I am in love! Everything about it is perfect and I am three weeks into use without falling out of love!
