I just received the Reflect in Mirrored Stainless Steel. It is beautiful -- an adjective I never thought I would use to describe a bottle. As my title says, this looks like a bottle Apple would have designed. It is the same shape as the regular 27 oz. Kleen Kanteen bottle, but the polished stainless steel exterior gives it a high-end, simple, and clean look. The cap on the Reflect bottles with their stainless steel shell and bamboo top are different than the caps on the other Kleen Kanteen bottles and, aesthetically, a great match for the Reflect bottles. After an initial washing of the bottle, I filled it up and tested it for leaks. Despite turning the bottle upside down and shaking vigorously no water leaked out, which should be expected. The top screws on and off very easily and quickly -- just one full turn to seal or open the bottle. As it states on Kleen Kanteen's website and with the material that came with the bottle, the bottle itself can be put in the dishwasher. But, the stainless steel cap with the bamboo top should not be cleaned in the dishwasher or submerged in water in order to prevent water from getting inside and creating sanitary issues.I love the fact that the product is almost entirely made of stainless steel, other than the small bamboo round piece on the top of the cap and the one silicon ring around the interior part of the cap to prevent leaking. From an ecological standpoint, it is probably a good thing the product contains no paints, even eco-friendlier ones. I drink a lot of water throughout the day and am using this bottle in place of a glass so I expect the finish to hold up well. If you use this water bottle for more active uses then the polished finish may not be the best choice as I imagine it will show scratches and scuff marks more than the Reflect Brushed finish or the regular Kleen Kanteen stainless steel finish.I was using a Sigg bottle for many years, but recently learned that their bottles -- at least the older ones -- actually contain BPA, which they chose to conceal from their customers. In addition, the coating on the inside of the neck of the bottle was coming off, which made me concerned that I might be ingesting small pieces of the coating material. Given the issues with Sigg, I decided to discontinue using my Sigg bottle and boycott the company's products. The fact that I can put the Kleen Kanteen bottle in the dishwasher is a nice benefit over the Sigg bottles, which need to be cleaned by hand. Another benefit of the Reflect bottle is the one turn on/off of the cap compared to several turns of the Sigg to seal or open the bottle. I think I will be very happy with the Kleen Kanteen Reflect bottle and will probably purchase one of the regular stainless steel bottles for outside use.

I have a problem with water bottles...I buy too many! I always find one that is better than the last one and then I simply MUST buy it. I've had so many water bottles in the past ten years that my husband started to make me throw out the old ones to make room for the new ones (he'd rather I didn't buy anymore but he's the best so he lets me).To name a few (these are my most recent ones):1. Camelbak Groove2. Camelbak Eddy3. Camelbak Better Bottle4. Kor Delta Hydration Vessel5. Thermos Sipp6. Contigo West Loop7. Contigo Madison8. Contigo Kids Trekker (I tried out a smaller water bottle)9. Mighty Mug10. Brita Water Bottle...Enter the Klean Kanteen Reflect!I was looking for a sturdy water bottle that was easy to carry and was somewhat customizable...and maybe also eco-friendly.The Klean Kanteen had all those and more!1. It's stainless steel so it can take a good beating2. There are several different types of lids to fit your needs3. There's the bottle and the lid -- nothing else -- less parts = less of a chance of breaking4. No nasty plastic taste -- this was a big deal to me5. Reflect is laser-etched -- no stickers or paint that can chip or come off in the future6. Nice slim profile so it's not like I'm carrying a bag phone7. Bamboo cap is leak-proof and can easily be attached to anything with a carabiner or s-biner8. The sports cap 3.0 makes it easy to drink one-handed (they say it's not leak-proof but mine hasn't leaked yet, just make sure it's closed)All in all this is the best water bottle I've purchased and I cannot find anything wrong with it whatsoever. If you're looking for a totally eco-friendly bottle to quench your thirst BUY THIS ONE! The Reflect version is only three materials -- stainless steel, silicone and bamboo! Now that's a tiny footprint. If you're looking for a good water bottle that will stand the test of time, not make your water taste bad and one that you can switch out lids this is the one for you! I wish I could give it way more than 5 stars!

i got this for my mom as i don't need a bottle myself. she likes it. she uses it. as for me the reason i got it is because it has no coating on the inside. SIGG bottles are coated on the inside with some compound that they won't release information about. being BPA free is not enough. recently baby bottles was studied and it was found that BPA or no BPA virtually all of them leached hormone mimicking substances into baby formulas. basically ANY plastic is taking a chance even if it is BPA free. this is the only bottle i know of that has no plastic coating on the inside ( just bare metal ) and that's because its the only bottle made out of stainless steel ( same material as all my cookware is made out of,and also what most professional food equipment is made out of ).is it perfect ? no. i have used a SIGG bottle before and the craftsmanship on SIGG is superior. the way the cap screws into a SIGG feels perfect. the way a cap screws into a KK Reflect is rather sketchy - but it works, and the cap is stainless steel, whereas in a SIGG it is plastic. So while there is no way i would give up the KK for a SIGG, but there are lessons KK can and SHOULD take from SIGG.also i don't doubt what others have said about the bottle getting dented from being dropped - it is rather thin. the SIGG by comparison is built like a tank. if it sounds like i was a bit disappointed with the build quality it is because i was. so why am i giving it 5 stars and not say 4 ? well because there isn't anything better out there as far as i know. for that matter there isn't even anything else out there that one can feel safe drinking from and not worry about getting poisoned. ultimately we need more competition in this market. maybe if SIGG makes an uncoated stainless steel bottle and manufactures it in Switzerland ( KK is made in China ) then i will revise my KK review to 4 stars. but for now KK is king.

The first thing anyone notices about this kanteen is the striking appearance. There's no need to wax poetic about a sports bottle, but suffice to say that the fusion of natural and modern elements is pleasingly tasteful, and if you are the kind of person who likes having nice things, this will make you smile every time you drink from it.The bottle itself is a standard 27oz single wall Klean Kanteen. Close examination would show that the logo is in a unique, mellow monochrome, and the bottle has "Reflect" stamped on the base, but these are tiny details. The cap can be bought separately and used with any Klean Kanteen of the same neck size (standard). Ergo, if you already own a Klean Kanteen and like it,you could add the cap seen here for much less than the cost of a whole new bottle. On the other hand, if you get this at a decent price and you'd like to have a bottle and plastic/metal cap set to go with it, you may find it cheaper to buy this bottle and add a plastic cap than to buy a standard Klean Kanteen w/plastic cap and add a metal or bamboo cap. In other words, the value of the metal cap accessory may make this version a better buy.The metal cap, by the way, isn't just nicer looking. It uses a plug-style design rather than being hollow and full of crevices like the plastic loop cap, making it much easier to clean and more practical for mixing shakes or sports drinks without leaving clumps of powder behind. Most people will probably hesitate to take the bamboo cap into the backcountry. It isn't a weak point in the sense that even if the bamboo is damaged, the bottle retains 100% function, but somehow muddying up something that looks like a luxury product is just something most people are loathe to do. Really if you keep the bamboo oiled, it should last you a good while however you choose to use it.

Best water bottle ever! I never thought I could get excited and enthuse about a water bottle but here I am. Water tastes so fresh from it, no metallic taint at all. I drink more because the opening is just right, it makes you realise how sports lids reduce the flow, now I get a good swig! It looks beautiful and so cool, even my boyfriend ( who I thought would think I was mad for spending so much on a water bottle) could appreciate it's worth, practicality and simple beauty. I bought myself the sports lid at the same time and love the fact that I can use whichever lid appropriate to my activities. The sports lid will be invaluable for long journeys in the car or cycling but at the moment I love the bamboo lid the most. When I first turned the lid it did do a bit of a nasty scraping sound but after doing it once or twice more it never has again. I also love the loop on the lid because makes the bottle easy to carry around. I had done lots of research into getting an eco friendly bottle and glass seemed to come top but not for weight and also durability, so being accident prone the chances of me breaking one were high. This bottle is perfect and a great size too. My daughter has asked me to order her the 532ml one for school and I am excited for her too, after years of different plastic bottles, this should be for life now I hope. My boyfriend did say to be careful though and not to leave it lying around because it looks so nice it might get stolen...not something I have ever had to anticipate with a water bottle before. It is great to have a lovely looking water bottle, that is eco friendly and health friendly. Reading a newspaper article about the way plastic lids and bottles harbour nasty germs and being difficult to clean properly accelerated my need to find the ultimate water bottle...I have found it!

Klean Kanteen Reflect - Stainless Steel water bottle.and Klean Kanteen sports cap 3.0Bought the sports cap for obvious reasons of easy access for a drink on the move .Bought both products because after lots of research not only do Klean Kanteen guarantee most products for life but compared to many other top brands out their the products seem too out perform many .I was looking for a water bottle that if i left in my car and the car got hot the water would still be safe too drink as these products are BPA free and are also free from other chemicals that can leak into your water .making the water safe and tasty .Some say you can taste the metal .Well i cant and if you do my solution is squeeze a little lemon into the water .Not only hydrates you more and gives vitamin c you also get a nice tasty drink ..Also fits perfect in my drinks holder and on my bike holder .Small tip .a rubber sleeve would be a nice for extra grip as the bottle does get quite cold to the touch.Just my own preference which i will be looking out for .The bottle is not lined with anything and strong .It will dent as its not bullet proof if miss treated e.g drop on solid floors hit with something ha ha and is expensive but how much is your health worth too you .To me its worth every penny .Beware of other brands that claim to be as good and cheaper .Alot are lined with a chemical skin inside .If white skin inside it maybe safe but any other colour will most definitely be lined with a chemical that will leak into your water .some have clear lined skin that turn yellow .If this happens its not safe .GET RID . Im no scientist just done alot of research .I BOUGHT FROM .UKOUTDOORSTORE.CO.UK. REGISTERED BY KLEAN KANTEEN TO SELL THEIR PRODUCTS .I ALSO CHECKED THIS OUT .

The general appearance and design of the canteen is very nice. It feels durable and well made, also the thin bamboo cap on top of the lid is quite a nice little touch. Apart from that, the only reason I decided to keep this canteen was because of it being free from toxins and plastic...BUT, when the canteen arrived and I had began to read the little information bookmark, and it said in small writing at the bottom, NO HOT LIQUIDS...The seller didn't state this firstly before buying, which is extremely deceptive. My main purpose for buying was for using this to boil water or drink a hot tea in, when out trekking or camping. For the price, there is nothing really special about this canteen, especially when it is limited to cool drinks alone.UPDATE: I recently purchased the Abataka Canteen which is near identical in ever way. No BPA, bamboo lid etc. Except it is double insulated unlike this Klean Canteen, Which means you can use hot or cold liquids and they stay that temperature up to 12 hours. I brought both canteens with me on a little outing, both contained chilled juice. It was roughly 27 degrees, so quite warm outside. Surprisingly the Abataka remained ice cold, whereas the Klean Canteen did not.I would suggest if you want this canteen, only insulated and for less money, get the Abataka canteen from amazon instead. This canteen is great, but it is certainly overpriced at £24, compared to the insulated Abataka at £19!

I own several Klean Kanteen bottles and this is my favorite. The bamboo cap and the etched in decals make this bottle unique. The stainless steel bottles are extremely durable and require little maintenance. I throw the bottle in the dishwasher every few months and hand wash the cap.I've dropped this bottle more times than I can count. Even if it hits concrete or asphalt, the bottle is indestructible.PROS:- Extremely Durable- Requires very little cleaning/maintenance- Will last a lifetimeCONS:- Doesn't hold hot liquids- Rubber gasket can become moldy if not cleaned- Stainless steel cap rubbing against stainless steel bottle will create small metal particles over a long period of time (likeyears)I've had this bottle for a few years now and I did notice microscopic metal particles attached to the side of the mouth opening. This is because the cap is made of stainless steel so when the bottle and cap are screwed together, they abrade on another. A quick wipe with a towel/napkin will remove the metal pieces or you can get a plastic cap and avoid this problem all together. It may be because I don't wash them very often but it took a couple years before this started happening. I'm sure with proper maintenance this would not be a problem. You will not find a better water bottle!

If Apple made water bottles they'd probably look like this - basically the Klean Kanteen is a beautifully designed premium product! I'm a big fan of great design, and these bottles do look very elegant. They're certainly smart enough to carry to an important business meeting, and they sit equally well in your backpack side pocket on a walk in the hills.Klean Kanteen also has health benefits, because unlike a plastic container it will not leach any chemicals into your water. Things like pthalates are of growing concern these days as research continues to demonstrate how toxic they can be. Also, the more recycling of plastic there is, the less pure that plastic becomes! So stainless steel is a good option instead. It has the benefit of being tough, inert and lighter than a glass bottle.I really like this bottle - the mouth is wide, it's perfectly sized, it keeps my water pure, it's unbreakable and it looks cool too - right down to the bamboo top. The metal is fairly thin so will dent if you drop it on a hard surface, but this does help keep the weight down. Just treat it with respect and it will be fine. I quite fancy making a tan leather sleeve for mine when I have a moment. Altogether this bottle is just right for my needs -that's why I've just ordered my second one.

I bought this bottle because i bought into the "stay away from plastic estrogens" fad. Not really sure if there is much truth to the claims that some plastics leach chemicals, but i work in an industrial environment and i wanted a durable product. One week of use and i would recomend this bottle to anyone.pros:1. Just the right size. small enough to fit in a bag pocket, but large enough to not have to refill too much2. Stainless cap. If you are afraid of "plastic chemicals", what's the point in a plastic cap?3. The handle is very usefull. I clip mine to my bag with an "S" biner, so it doesn't fall out going through security x-ray checks.4. completely leak tight.I used to have a camelbak "sippy cup" bottle and it would leak with changes in pressure/temperature.5. Droppable. With concrete floors and metal staircases, I don't trust a plastic bottle on a 20 foot fall.cons: (Maybe)1. Silicon seal. Silicon may end up being way more toxic than any other plastic. But im pretty sure it's fairly inert.2. The handle has popped out once already, but the very resiliant stainless loop snaps right back in.3. No insulation. I like drinking room temp water, so it's no big deal.4. It makes orange juice taste like metal. Kidding. (The Office reference)

This is a beautiful object. Before this I bought a copper flask because of Ayurvedic benefits- it was made in India but I could get it through prime so I did, after two weeks it was scraping, grating and creaking I could even stand opening it because it would just grind, it was horrible. So I sent it back. This flask is really nice, the design, the tolerances, the closing, the chamfered top that's lovely to drink out of- even the ring is suspended so it's not banging against the side. Is it cheap, absolutely not, is it expensive- well expensive is when you pay a lot of money and don't get what you pay for right?I like this, I don't write reviews but here is one.I've got it on tour now in Italy and I just want to fill it up with water and drink from it. Will it last- I think so. I used to buy platypus flasks because you can take the air out so you don't get things sloshing about in your bag, but every 2 years or so they'd break and go horrible and I had enough of it. I'm looking forward to putting this to the test, so far- it's great.

I bought the larger 27oz Klean Kanteen so I have enough water to last the day at work. Though this has the obvious disadvantages of being bulkier and heavier than the 18oz version. The water tastes great in this, I've not detected any tainting from the stainless steel and the build quality seems to be excellent. Some users have complained about the noise it makes when your opening the cap. This is because the cap is also made from solid stainless steel so when you unscrew it makes a metallic sound. I personally love the sound, its an integral part of the Klean Kanteen experience. The bamboo finish on the top is pleasing to look at though the wood is soft and does mark easily.I've managed to put a few scratches in mine within the first week. Whether this is an issue depends on your preference. For me the scratches on the wood will over time add a personal character to the product so I'm not bothered about it.Overall I'm really pleased with this product and enjoy using it.

This is a great water bottle with a nice wide cap. The bamboo cap is sturdy and threads well into the bottle with a nice tight silicone band to keep it airtight. No nonsense, no fuss. Simple water bottle with great lightweight quality construction. My only complaint here would be the thin metal. It's not thin enough to squeeze, if you know what I mean; but if you drop it once you will dent it, no doubt. I have never even dropped mine and it wobbles slightly on a level surface because of an inexplicable dent on the bottom edge, presumably from a knock on a hard surface while full. I think dents add character, but I know some like their products pristine,so be wary and use a carrying case that might dampen a fall.Another word of caution, the silicone band will yellow after some time (a year or two perhaps). Not something that will affect it in any way other than cosmetically, but it's another thing to consider if you're a perfectionist.

I have gone through many reusable bottles in an attempt to be environmentally friendly. This one is the best I have bought so far. I wanted one un-insulated (nicht isoliert) so I could run it through the dishwasher. It is a good size and very light because of this. It fits on my bike and in all of my backpacks. I have previously owned plastic bottles, glass bottles and edelstahl bottles and they all have their own "taste," and this one does too, but the taste isn't bad and goes away with multiple washings.I have literally not bought a plastic water bottle in years because of bottles like this, if that is your aim.If there is any negative point, I would say that the bottle seems to bruise easier than others, possibly due to being un-insulated. I have two small "dings" after some months of daily use. I hope to keep this bottle as long as possible, I no longer see any need to look for a "better" bottle as this one is perfect for me.

I really like a lot of things about this bottle - it looks good, I like the 'handle' on the lid which makes it easy to carry even when hands are full, it's a good size etc. But I find the rim/mouth too big, sometimes when it's relatively empty and you tilt the bottle back, you end up with the water all over your face. Maybe I'm just getting used to it but this has never happened with any other bottle so think it's a design thing (which is obviously not suited to me). I can't return now as I've used and overall I'm reasonably happy with it, and just need to be careful when it's near empty. Despite the larger opening I wouldn't say it's necessarily easier to clean (as unless you have a special brush you still can't get your hand in with a sponge for cleaning). So wish they designed one with a normal opening size...?Also have concerns about if it will get dented (my former swell bottle definitely did). Will have to see!
