I did a lot of research before getting this cup. There are very few options for non-plastic straw cups. I don't want my kids to use sippy cups after age 1 as I've been told it's not good for their mouth development and there are other developmental benefits to using a straw for kids of all ages. That said, this cup works okay. and my 17 month old seems to like it. She had no problems drinking out of it and I don't think it has too many parts to wash. Most cups have several pieces. My main problem with the plastic cups outside of it being plastic is the smell. Plastic cups stink after multiple uses with milk. With stainless you avoid that problem. However,I do soak the cup cap in water with dish washing soap so that it doesn't smell like milk. That seems to work. Maybe I just have a sensitive nose. I also took off the sleeve so that milk does not go into the space between the sleeve and cup and smell up the cup as some people mentioned in their review. The negative of doing that is that it's pretty impossible to put the sleeve back on so I gave up. Other con of doing that is that the cup is then cold but my daughter doesn't seem to mind so I just left it alone.A few other negatives. If you leave the cup sitting out for a while, the milk does seep up. It must have something to do with the pressure. I don't know. It's only happened a few times for us. Final negative is that the straw does not reach all the way to the bottom so you will have leftover milk that you often have to throw away.

This is a great cup for anyone who does not want to use plastic!! I spent a ton of time researching because I didn't want to have a cupboard full of just ok or leaky cups. The spout is very durable...other sippy cups I have look beat up, like they've been chewed on (& they have) but the Safe Sippy 2 is still in great shape. My little one is only 9 months old so she is still getting the hang of how to drink from the cup, so when I'm at home I use it with the straw valve/no straw to allow the water to come easily & she's really getting used to it. Some days she really drinks well from the sippy valve & she's almost an expert now. I'm also happy that this cup can grow with her into a straw cup.I know we'll use this cup for years. I will buy more...this is the only cup for us!

When my two year old son transitioned to this sippy at one, he had a little issue figuring out how it worked but my 7 month old had no problem with it being her first sippy. My two year loves his now. Cleans easily and fits well in their little hands. It is definitely not spill proof but doesn't bother us as we only put water in it. We have only used the sippy attachment and not yet the straw. The rubber cover has come off a few times as it stretched a little and its a bummer the rubber makes it harder to slide into the diaper bag compartments. I could easily fix that by taking rubber off, but I prefer not hearing the "DING" when it gets dropped on the tile.

These are my go to zippy cups. I am slowly reducing the use of plastic in my household and these cups are a hit! My girls love them. The design is practical and beautiful. They don't leak, the handles are very comfortable and they are easy to carry around. We actually never use the straw, my girls doesn't like it, but they drink directly out of the zippy with the transparent valve. The purple part of the cap of one of my zippy cups fell off and I couldn't put it back. I contacted directly the company by phone and they are sending me a replacement cap at no extra charge! I will definitely keep buying from this brand.

i figured i should leave a review since i am ordering a second safe sippy cup after receiving our first a week or so ago. i love that it's stainless and has been great for my 11 month old who is able to use a straw on her own, but still can't use a sippy since she doesn't quite get to tip her head back:) it is so nice to finally just be able to leave a cup out for her to drink when she's thirsty! Plus I feel like this is a step in the right direction for weaning off the bottle once she is a year. so far the only problem we've had is only having one in the house! this is why i'm buying another tonight.

This is a beautiful cup. I like it, my 15 month old likes it. However, in order fir the cup to not leak while traveling, you have to put in the travel valve. Then, when you get to your destination, you have to open the cup up, put the other valve in, and then twist the cap back on. I've forgotten to do this, only to give the cup to my son, who thn can't get any water put of it, when I figure this out, I'm usually out shopping and my hands are dirty, and the last thingi want to do is twist open the cup to switch the valve. So, I live th cup, but the little valve system is annoying.

OK, so we have only had this a short while, but so far it has been exactly what I needed. I wanted a sippy that could hold warm milk in it after I warm it up in a separate container. My child loves this cup, and I don't have to worry about plastics and bpa. I also have only been using straw sippys for my child and this is the only one that I can find that has a straw type sippy lid. I hesitated to buy until I saw in person, then immediately ordered! Oh and it does keep liquids very cold, but I primarily use it for warm milk.

I love these and so do my toddlers! I just wish the silicone cover on the outside was imbedded, it's difficult to remove, and always ends up getting a little stinky between washes. I find that these only leak if you have a change in altitude when traveling (easy fix just unscrew top and release pressure) and if you add ice or really cold water (I rarely do since we drink our water room temperature). Great alternative to plasticity water cups if you want a built in straw.

We bought two. It's a great sippy. It does leak a bit here and there but nothing major. I have experienced what others experienced with the random bubbling up when cap cover is on - that's odd and at times annoying when the cap fills with water but since its just water I don't mind but if it was juice that would be a super inconvenience but I don't plan to give my child juice for a long time but may try milk in it eventually but we'll see.

Excellent product. Do they offer a thermal version? This traveled 778 miles with a set of one-year-old twins, and could not have been happier with its performance. The handles are great, as they can be removed if needed, and I love the option for the sippy, straw, or sealed cap for travel! Yes, they leak a tad with the straw option in place, but they fully disclose that in the manual. :)

This is the sippy cup I have been searching for!Things I love about it: my one year old can easily hold it by the handles and easily carries it around with her. Even when it is full it is not too big or heavy for her. She loves drinking out of the straw. It is fun to have the straw or the standard sippy-cup spout option. This cup does not leak!

The first cup my exclusively breastfed daughter would drink from. She used the straw from 11 months old and it's still one of the favourites. Being stainless steel you know it's much healthier for baby to use but I would recommend dishwashing the small pieces every week as washing daily in the sink isn't quite enough.

We love The Safe Sippy so much, we bought three more. The stainless steel means there is no plastic chemical aftertaste like a lot of the other sippy cups out there. The handles are perfect for little hands to hold onto, and the cover is soft and easy to clean. I highly recommend The Safe Sippy!

We have three of this cup and love it because its stainless steel, so it's safe. My daughter was able to use the straw before she was one. It has held up very well to daily use and washing. It's just not great for travel because it does leak a little even with the cover if it gets tipped.

my daughter loves this bottle, both using as a zippy bottle and with straw. it keeps the liquid cold longer. very easy to clean considering I don't use a dishwasher. the rubber covering of the stainless bottle keeps the bottle scratch/dimple free. the cover stays in place properly.
