I think this sub is better in many respects than average subs, but just a tad below true competition grade. After almost a year of beating the piss out of it, I just blew my L7 15".. I've had the Kicker L7 12" subs before, also. This one 15" seems to pretty much hit harder than two 12s. I never blew the 12s, though. I have a Boss PH5000D powering the sub. Obviously it doesn't put out 5000 watts, but at 2 ohms I hear it's been bench tested to put out just over 2000 watts. I have it running at 1 ohm. I have smelled the speaker frying months ago. Recently I amassed some bass tracks from the web that I went extreme with and that did me in. The best SOUNDING subs I've had were Infinity Kappa Perfect 12s.I do not think these Kickers are sound quality subs for musicality and all. However, the kick of the bass drum is very precise. These subs hit hard and precise. Where other subs have had mushy bass, these subs nail it down to a hard kick. And they can handle way more that 1000 watts RMS. Lets be real. People push their amps too far at times. Distortion creeps in at high power. It's a lot to expect from a sub to handle this. I have two Kinetik batteries, a 180 amp alternator, and my electrical still takes a dip when my sub hits. I bought another L7 15". If I can stop abusing the thing to death, I know it'll last for many years. My L7 12s did.

I took the back seat out of my '74 VW bug and put in two pioneer 15's and two 10's but this single 15 inch Kicker L7, at 1 ohm, in my Yukon blows that system away. This subwoofer is extreme. If you want to violently pound out some bass then this is the sub for you. It's very uncomfortable to be inside with it cranked but my co-workers can hear me inside the grocery store when I drive by on the road in front of it and I still don't think I've turned it up loud enough to distort. The bass is deep and low and very loud. A little chip on my windshield became a crack when I rolled up the window.

Very good speaker...nice bang for your buck. However, ONE CAVEAT: I bought this speaker to pair with an Infinity Kappaone 2-ohm sub amp. You need to be aware that this is a DUAL VOICE COIL sub with EACH coil being 2 ohm, which means that connected in parallel you get the full power, but it's only ONE ohm impedance which will burn out your amp. You need to hook it up in series which will be an impedance of FOUR ohms, which cuts your effective power in half. For a 2 ohm amp you need two of these, or one 4-ohm sub.

I've owned this sub for over a year and a half and I have played it hard everyday after the break in period.For an spl application it has served me well and is an efficient sub. Unfortunately after upgrading my electricals and a new Rockford Fosgate amp I set gains too high and damage my sub.No fault to manufacturer good product"set gains properly!!"These subs are alot cheaper since my purchase.Now that I have excess power I will be ordering two more.My buddy has two in an suv and its insane!!

i have these in my 2001 pathfinder and got a lot of compliants, and compliment. 2 15 l7s in a ported box with just a little 1200 watt hifonics brz amp. now the back light brake light inside the car is broke and back window squeaks. wish i had a bigger amp on them but really don't need it. these subs are some beasts!!

Always puts a smile on my face, had one for years now and I can't fault it.Buy a cover for it though, I've put a hole in mine, I just gaffer taped it on the outside and inside and it still sounds great! I can't justify the expense of a new one when this one still sounds good.

The only words i can say is.. THISS SUB IS DOPE!!! everything you can ask for in a 15 " subwoofer. if youwant some serious flexing and loud violent basss. this is what you need to buy!! i give it a 5 star because im just so satisfied with it!! i would recomend it to all.

Very awesome subs! More than met my expactations!! I have 2 of these l7s on a 3200 watt hifonics zues monoblock on 2 ohms in a 2012 charger that system bangs hard as hell! I dont turn it near all the way up! Great product I'm more than impressed.

Very impressive sub. I am running this with a 6 cufoot box with aCrown amplifier 750 rms @ 4 ohms and it shakes my whole house end to end very happy with this purchase!!!!

IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO SPEND, BUY THIS SUB! I HAVE TWO AND I LOVE THEM. TRUST ME IF YOU HAVE A GOOD AMP AND GOOD BOX YOULL HURT YOUR EARS BEFORE YOU WANT MORE BASS!

good sub but it blew in about 2 months the setting were cranked to high rebuild it love the sub will get another for next summer
