The is a review for the Kenwood FPM910 MultiPro Excel 1300W (as Amazon has an annoying habit of mixing up similar but different models). This was bought to replace the Kenwood MultiOne which failed 3 times. The MultiPro Excel is a big beast, being of a square-designed base unit, to which you attach the various modules. There is one big difference to get used to if you are coming from a ‘Chef’ or the MultiOne unit, both of which had a bowl with Whisk, Mixer and Dough hook attachments. All these jobs are now done in the food processing bowl through the use of the blade or various attachments.Pastry: Essential to use the metal blade and add the flour and fat first and pulse or gradually mix until you get the breadcrumbs. Then add a little water gradually, while pulsing or controlling the speed for a few seconds until it forms the dough – then stop. It only takes a few seconds – any longer will result in the thick dough ball being pummelled around the container and creating a lot of vibration and shaking which won’t do the unit any good.Whisking Egg Whites: This is where a lot people go wrong. The Whisk is only to be used for eqq whites and making meringue – nothing else and certainly not batter mix – it is too heavy for the whisk mechanism to cope with! Whisk the egg whites (5-6) on their own for about 30-40 seconds – that’s all it takes. Then you can add the caster sugar to stiffen them if required, by gradually adding the sugar from the opening in the top. This only takes another 30 seconds or so. Essential to make sure the plastic container is dry and clean before use.Folding Tool: Use this for making mousses and for adding air into light mixtures.Dough Blade: I have not used this as yet, preferring to use the metal blade for pastry making. The dough blade is plastic and is for some types of dough.Slicing & Grating: There are 7 cutting discs supplied with this model – but others are available like a French Fry disc for chopping potatoes and making your own French fries (note fries, not chips)!7 Discs supplied:Thin cutting disc (2mm)Thick cutting disc (4mm)Thin grating disc (2mm)Thick grating disc (4mm)Extra fine grater discFine Julienne discDecorative slicing discOptional: French Fry DiscCitrus Press: I use this a lot for juicing lemons and oranges – great for making Lemon Meringue pies.Grinder / Miller: Really useful – make your own caster or icing sugar from standard granulated in seconds – considering they charge 2-3 times the price for buying it ready made in the shops, this is a no-brainer. This unit just plugs onto the main module – lock and load. Great for crushing nuts and harder foods that you want to chop or granulise.Liquidiser / Blender – Heat and Cold resistant glass – great for making smoothies in seconds, blending soups and liquidising hot or cold liquids – again the unit just clicks onto the main base unit. The unit comes with a large plastic case for storing all the discs in safely and also space for the metal blade when not using it. There is also a mini-bowl and mini chopper blade if you are preparing smaller quantities of ingredients – I’ve not found I need to use this as yet.Scales: One great feature is the built-in scales that you can easily switch between ounces or grams. Being able to zero-out the weight as you add each ingredient is a real bonus and saves using multiple bowls and separate scales. The system also comes with an internal overflow cover, that you can insert into the main food processor bowl. This increases the capacity when working with liquids, as it stops the liquid from being pushed up and out of the lid under the centrifugal force.Overall we are really pleased with the performance – it is quite a versatile unit, and we make good use of this every week. It is easy to clean and store. A useful feature is the cable storage – you may not realise it at the time, but the cable can be pushed back into the hole where the cable extrudes. It takes a little effort, but it can store the whole cable, just leaving the plug protruding, so really saves space. The unit is stainless steel with a square footprint and looks great in the kitchen.Storage is perfect – and if you have limited space between your cupboards over your work surface, then simply remove the main spindle and processing bowl, and attach the miller instead if height is an issue. So far it is doing everything it says on the box and I have no complaints about it. Spares are readily available including attachments, drive belts, motors, spindles and accessories from major spares retailers.

This machine is a beast and looks very professional. Read below for the saga of getting a faulty item replaced. The mixer. The main bowl works very well, have made cakes, pasta dough and bread dough.Excellent for making nut butter. Takes a good 10+ minutes with lots of stopping to scrape down the sides. The slicer.HIt and miss. tends to leave chunks behind. No better than the cheaper models.Blades very sharp and cut hands like a hot knife through butter. Plasters at the ready! The grinder.Very solid. Hit and miss again.Has a tendency to grind some to dust and some to lumps all at the same time. My body scrub (aduki beans) ended up with powder too dusty and bigger chunks too chunky. Same for everything. It over heated on the aduki beans and went on strike until it cooled again.Liquidizer. VERY heavy solid glass item.Works ok.Juicer.Used on some oranges. Worked very well.Overall. A good item with its faults.Pro. Very solid build that should last and last. All functions work well.Cons. Expensive. You need to be a dedicated cook to justify the price. It takes up SO MUCH SPACE!! The storage is a joke as it does not nearly pack away all the spare parts - mine are in a large plastic tub on top of the cupboards out the way.It is heavy, all of it the base is hefty as well as the liquidizer.THE FAULTY ONE ......The spindle clicked on happily - that is where it has stayed. Refusing to budge i cannot use the grinder or liquidiser. It cannot be packed back into its box for return as the spindle will not come off. Amazon will not just replace, it has to be returned, refunded and buy new one. Thanks to deal of the day ending that will cost me another £,100. Due to Amazon mess ups i already have costs for 2 kenwood mixers on my card until the previous mixer returned is refunded.Have used the juillene slicer and it left chunks of carrot behind on top of the blade. Peppers just ended up as mush, again leaving lumps behind. For a mixer costing over £,300 i expect better performance than this. Blades work no better than my 17 yr old now deceased kenwood classic food processor. One might expect that over the last 15+ years kenwood could have found a way to improve this. The kenwood helpline number 0844 given on box paperwork is no longer in use. Found another customerservice number, gives an answermachine message promising to call back in 2 days (as i am so important) , I will be back at work then. Email had no response beyond the "donotreply" acknowledgment. Hanging on phone call gives message that customer service is 'shut for training' without any indication when, or if it may be up and running again. Will update. Finally got through after 15 minutes of listening to an annoying repeated message (and about 20 phone calls until the customer service was open again, no I am not kidding!!!), there is one person doing all the Kenwood service queries for the whole country. The machine has to go to Liverpool for repairs. This will take up to 3 weeks. Oh joy. Asked to speak to manager. Manager called back the next day and said she did not have the authority to exchange my mixer for a new one - it has to be refurbished. I do not want a refurbished machine as i paid for a new one.........................................AMAZON finally came through and gave me a complete new machine on exchange. I did have to pack it and pay for transport myself though. All sorted in the end. I sincerely hope never to need to speak to kenwood again.UPDATE. the rubber on the grinder has broken. Back to kenwood ........................

I was able to purchase this unit from Amazon Warehouse on Black Friday. I was a little worried about what condition it would be in when it was opened, but I had nothing to worry about as other than the box, all items were unused. A complete bargain in my eyes! The machine is brilliant. We try and make fresh home cooked food for our toddler and it can be quite a big chore on the weekend to batch cook. But with this machine (please note I have only had it a week), so far I have been able to get ingredients ready to bake muffinsand cakes and it also grates vegetables effortlessly. I am looking forward to seeing what else it can go with all the other accessories. The only downside is that it is large and heavy,so it and it's accessories do need lots of storage space. Also cleaning it can be a little fiddly, but most of the accessories are dish washer friendly. The only other thought I have is that the buttons that control the weighing scale feature can get, for example, flower stuck around the rubber buttons making the cleaning a little tricky. Perhaps future versions could leave the display on the top but have the buttons on the side. Those niggles so far aren't enough to not rate this a 5 star item though. Highly recommended. If things change I will update this review.

I thoroughly researched various food processors over a month and kept coming back to this model. The reality is, I didn't need it, but I love cooking and 'playing' in the kitchen so treated myself as it isn't cheap; however it is worth every penny. I had a Kenwood processor about 22 years ago and it never blew my mind to be honest, this one I've sung it's praises to everyone! High quality parts, heavy duty bit of kit and very stylish. I've seen this model used on various tv shows and found it easier to google video demonstrations on how to use the parts, rather than laboriously read the manual. It does take a lot of kitchen space, which I was prepared for, having read reviews on Amazon. It has taken two shelves in my larder unit but I have comfortably spaced the parts out so they are easy to get to. The blades can whizz the hardest of vegetables and make amazing soups in no time. Cleaning is straightforward which was also something to bear in mind with any of these gadgets. It is a very weighty item, as is the glass blender but somehow this gives me comfort knowing it's a high end quality item. I am delighted and provided you have plenty of space this item exceeds all expectations.

I've had the MultiPro robot for about two months now and I'm very satisfied. I've used it to make cakes, pizza dough, salads, juices, and everything went as promised. I've tried to use almost all the accessories and I am very happy of the results. Perhaps the only accessory that seems a little flimsy is the dual whisks, I think that the plastic attacks are a little too weak. But to be honest they advise to only use it for liquid mixtures (beating eggs, making whipped cream etc) so it should be ok.Other random thoughts: the box wich it came with is pretty big, but not too heavy. The instructions might be more detailed in describing what each accessory is needed for but are fine overall. The blender jug is heavy (it's glass after all) but not heavier than most similar blenders'. The materials in general seem very good and robust and the modular design is pretty clever. It doesn't vibrate much and it's not extremely noisy. If you need a good food processor that doesn't cost a fortune, consider this one as it has pretty good quality/price rate. Look at the videos online to have an idea of what it does, but overall I feel ok at recommending it.

The FPM910 takes some getting used to, theres a lot of power,a lot of machine and so many accessories its big powerful and heavy. It is delivered in a huge box just slightly under a meter or so in size(box).I have had my Kenwood for a few weeks now and I am still getting used to how it works. If any aspect of it isn't locked in properly it wont work so that means the safety features are very robust. This item would not suit a small kitchen you really do need a good amount of storage space for the accessories etc.Once you start using the food processor you will want to spend as much time as possible slicing, dicing, chopping and grating before you wash up and pack it down.I love every aspect of this machine I spent a whole year thinking about this purchase and finally made the decision to buy it. The build quality is excellent, the precision of the design engineering is wonderful. The unit is too heavy for me to pack it away and take it out again so at the moment it has pride of place on my work top. I have a large kitchen so it works well for me. I wish that I had bought it sooner.

Bought this back in June, then we started a load of building work including a new kitchen so it sat doing nothing for 4 months in the box!Been using in anger since late October and it's an excellent productI wanted something that would just blend and process found cheaper models by Kenwood just weren’t that good. This does everything we want and does it well, it's so easy to use and to put together prior to doing anything. It will also stick to your kitchen worktop to keep it steady when in use, and also has scales built in.Only advice is to keep a look out for sales, I paid £180 for mine, so if you’re not in immediate need then it’s worth seeing if it comes down in price again on Amazon.

Very powerful, really easy to use, the integrated scales are handy (not necessary, but super handy), really wide range of attachments, good solid containers (you'll be surprised at the weight in blender jug!), and the base is quite solid and heavy so it holds steady when in use (can wobble a bit if solids in the large mixing bowl are uneven to start with but rapidly settled down - and only a little wobble). The dough blade is a handy item; very quick for turning out simple bread.handy hint - chop onions with the main (or mini) chopping blade and not the thin/thick slicer, they are too slippy. but the slicers are awesome for quickly prepping sliced hard veggies like carrots, potatoes etc.

The Kenwood Multi-Pro Sense Food Processor with Scales is every bit professional and hard wearing as you'd expect from Kenwood. With a multitude of attachments it is the ideal kitchen accessory. The adjustable power/speed dial gives you superb control over your slicing, mixing, folding, blending, soup making activities. The attachments are simple to fit and are easily removable to allow cleaning. You can feel the high quality of the product as you assemble the attachments. This may be slightly more expensive than some of its counterparts however the combination of quality, simplicity, variety of attachments, and a 5 year guarantee make this a must have for those who love to cook at home.

I bought this back in march. I run a little cafe and it has gone through semi-professional use daily for the last six months. Im especially happy I bought the model with built in scale. Huge time saver (and less washing) it is holding up well to being knocked about and washed in a commercial dish washer. Good volume capacity (it's twice the size of my home one) and the glass blender jug is good quality heavy glass can stand the heat. The machine and accessories do take up a lot of space so if you have a small kitchen bear this in mindVery happy customer.I will absolutely recommend this to anyone who bakes/cooks a lot.

I LOVE this machine! It makes everything so easy and it's all easy to clean too. I must admit that when it arrived I was flabbergasted by the size and weight of the parcel. It is a serious bit of kit and with so many attachments that do so many things you need a decent amount of cupboard space for it. So far I have used the graters, processor blade, scales, citrus juicer and can't wait to try all the other bits and bobs too. The motor is very powerful and everything is very solidly built so I anticipate I will have this and enjoy it for many years to come.

I bought a Magimix 15 years and it was expensive but great. When it needing replacing about 2 years ago, I bought another without hesitation. It was a pale shadow of the old one and the plastic parts soon started to break. I chose the Kenwood because it has 'dishwasher safe' accessories. Everything seems more robust and it has so many brilliant features. It is absolutely first class and I haven't even tried all the attachments yet. I have never regretted paying top dollar as it has exceeded my expectations!!

18.12.2017

Love this, only had it for a couple of months, but it seems sturdy enough (sure is heavy which should say something about how solid it is). The only niggling is that when using the slicing function, it never seems to make it to the last piece of carrot or potato, always leaves a piece slightly thicker between the lid and the disc.Bought this as a happy medium between the cheapie ones and the really expensive ones, very happy with what I got for my money.

11.4.2019

I bought this for all kinds of chopping and cutting and blending jobs in my kitchen. I wanted this specially as I chop lots of herbs and in big batches this is excellent and does the job perfectly, because the bowl is big enough. I also love the in-built scales, which saves time and extra washing of cups and plates, as you can just measure stuff in the main bowl. Altogether I'm very happy with my buy. Definitely recommend it. When it arrived I was a bit shocked at how big it was compared to my 25 year old Braun and a little concerned! But once I had sorted the cupboards to find it a place to live and started using it, I have found it absolutely brilliant. It is easy to use, clean and it has done everything I want it today. I have not used it for bread making or cake making yet but general food processing & soup making it is great & I love it.
