Me and my old lady just love us some camping! We head out into the sticks with the bears and wolves and man-eating plants and chupacabras! I bought two of these here mattresses and they are just fantastical! In fact, I've used them for a wide wide wide variety of things!Let's start with a night of campin'. It doesn't come with no pump, so I bought a cheap one at the campground. Of course, "cheap" at a campground really means "five times as expensive as anywhere else." Anyway, I blew this big bastage up and was extremely worried. As a man of nearly 400 pounds with a wife the same size, I expected this baby to pop like a Trojan on a bull stud woolly mammoth. Amazingly, it held up good.I bought two because me and that old nag are too big to fit on one together without a fat strap to keep us from rollin' off like a jet-propelled tumbleweed gettin' sling-shotted off a hot college college girl's behind. Now, while we slept separately on our own mattresses, what fun is camping without a little, as those I-talian folks call it, amore!? So, for about two minutes and forty five seconds, we shared one of these beds and I couldn't believe that it didn't just explode into thousands of rubber bits like every whoopee cushion I've ever sat on with my massive rump! I tell ya, the missus gets friskier than a corn-fed dog with sixteen ovaries! So, when I say this mattress can take a thrashin', you can take that to the dad-gum bank, by god!We was campin' for four days and three nights. My mattress held up just fine and didn't need any extra air. My old lady's needed a little extra air after the second night, but that might have been due to our wild, hog-style, squeal-fest that evening. So you understand what two 400 pound people can do to an air mattress, let me put it this way... It probably sounded like a walrus and a baboon were being burned at the stake. It was a wild ride! So, what good are these mattresses after camping? Well, prepare to amazed!Y'all got your regular uses like using it for guests who spend the night. We ain't worried about none-such though. Our trailer gots three bedrooms and two extra axles. Costs more to put new tires on the house, but it's well worth it for the extra space! The next use was what my smart mouth brother called and "inner-vation" or some such. We blew that bad boy up, greased up the bottom with some rendered chicken fat, and went sledding! Boy oh boy that mofo done flew down the hills faster than a chicken with a rocket jammed in it's bacon ring! We'd take a running start and just drop onto that mattress. Weeee! That's what we'd shout as we went sailing down the hill into Old Man Skeetersnatch's pumpkin patch! After about 20 runs down the hill, we finally did it in. We decided to turn it sideways and go down together. We took our runnin' start, jumped on the mattress, and KER-POW! Looks like it can take a thrashin' from some pudgy pushin', but it can't handle a running start jump by two good old boys in the snow. And that's where the next two uses came from! I cut it in half and now, I use one half as an oil mat under my truck and the other half as a grill cover! Just don't fire up the grill when this is on it or else you'll have a rubbery, sticky, nasty melted mess all over your grill. I learned that the hard way! Thank god I didn't have it over my cut-in-half oil barrel. I woulda been madder than a toothless squirrel at an acorn convention! But don't forget, I had another one of these mattresses! During the summer, I'd get some bags of ice from the store, fill up the mattress with ice, use the garden hose to fill it up the rest of the way with water, and I had me a nice chiller bed out on the back porch. For Halloween, I drained out all that water and split that mattress up the bottom and put a zipper on it. Whenever those kids would walk across my grass or make fun of my fat, I'd holler at 'em and say, "You little punks is gonna end up in my body bag! I can fit at least six of ya scrawny little turds in there!" My wife didn't like that, so she just pulled out the scattergun and threatened to shoot 'em on sight if they made fun of her fat. She's always talkin' about how she's big boned, but as far as I reckon, it ain't the bones that get bigger after eatin' five pound pork roasts like they're skittles. Finally, this here mattress makes a great buryin' shroud. Why? Because I think it's part "Shroud of Turin!" Our Irish Wolfhound, Mr. Harry Bollocks, finally passed at the ripe old age of 17. I split open the mattress, put Harry in, and wrapped him up like a canine bagel-dog. After digging his grave, I placed all 208 pounds of him into the hole and covered him up good and proper-like. The next morning, Harry was standing at the back door waggin' his tail wanting to come in! I couldn't believe it! It brought him back to life! So, in the end, come for the good night's sleep, stay for the resurrection! Five stars!EDIT: My fat wife just informed me that Mr. Harry Bollocks was barking up a storm, so she gave him some of her sleepin' pills. Apparently, I buried a sleepin' dog and ruined a perfectly good body bag mattress. So, don't you pay no nevermind to that resurrection stuff. Ain't no Jesus cloth, I reckon.

I originally ordered this air bed for guests to use, but due to certain circumstances, I'm now forced to use it every night. After a couple nights of sleeping on it, I'd say it's quite comfortable; it's not as good as sleeping on a real $1,000 mattress, but it sure beats sleeping on the floor! The only thing is that you have to get used to sleeping along the vertical chambers of air that the bed uses to support your body when it is fully inflated. Once your back becomes used to it, the mattress is great. However, I do have a couple of notes.1. When you first get the mattress, you will experience what feels like air loss, however, it is just the mattress stretching out with use.Even if you pump enough air into the the mattress to make it firm, it will become a bit softer by morning during the "break in stage." This is because the mattress is stretching out, and after a couple nights of this, you shouldn't lose any air.2. If you lose a lot of air in a night, for example, you go from firm to having your body touch the floor through the mattress by morning, or in a couple of hours, it could mean that your air valve is not closed tightly enough. After the first couple uses, you will have to tighten the air valve VERY well. Tighten the valve as much as possible, even when you think it's tight enough. Also, make sure the valve isn't put on crooked when you tighten it, this will let air escape if one side is higher than the other. I made the same mistake of just tightening it and thinking, "well that seems tight enough." Wrong! Air still escapes unless you tighten it fully. For a couple days I found my bed halfway deflated by morning. After inspecting the bed, I found no air leaks or holes. So I thought to myself, "eh, maybe I should just tighten it until it's extremely hard to turn the valve," so I did. I've been making sure to tighten the valve fully, and I no longer experience any air loss between nights. Also, watch out for the pop in cap, it can go in snugly, but that doesn't mean it's pushed in all the way. Even when I turn the valve until it absolutely turn anymore, if I accidentally leave the cap not pushed in all the way, I still lose air. You'll see what I mean if you buy it.I hope these tips help you. This is a great bed, it doesn't feel cheap, but it has a great price! Oh, and if it helps, I'm a 200 pound dude, so don't worry about being too heavy, you're probably lighter than me. One more thing, this bed doesn't come with a pump, so I suggest you purchase a battery powered or electrical air pump on amazon to come along with it. I forgot about the air pump, so I ended up going to Target. I paid around $26 for the air pump over there, you can probably find one on here for cheaper.

We bought two of these air mattresses in 2012 to accommodate house guests. For whatever reason, everyone you’ve even been related to wants to come and visit when you get married, like you’ve suddenly morphed into the kind of responsible people who cook large breakfasts and have guests beds. Nope; cheap air mattresses and coffee shops for everyone!I know these air mattresses have to be pretty good when they’re brand new, because even the nit-pickiest and most honest members of my husband’s family didn’t complain and said they were perfectly comfortable on them. We’ve also used these for friends who have been drinking and shouldn’t attempt traveling to their own homes. Since the air mattress doesn’t come with a pump,we learned the hard way that three drunk smokers can blow one of these up by mouth in about fifteen minutes if everyone takes turns. It’s not fun, though, so we broke down and bought a cheap pump after doing this a couple times. I recommend just doing the “buy it together” thing so you don’t forget and end up huffing and puffing into a plastic nozzle covered with your friend’s spit at 4:00 am. Don’t say I didn’t warn you. While these air mattresses are “full” size and can accommodate couples no problem, full size sheets are a smidge too big. It’s not a huge problem, but I hate it when the corners of my sheets are loose and they get all bunched up underneath me when I’m rolling around and drooling on myself. After two years, the air mattresses have held up pretty well with infrequent use, though they are starting to get a bit saggy. I slept on one last week after the husband and I got into a fight about who orders the most stuff on Amazon (kidding, it was about something else). After a couple hours, I woke up because my butt was on the floor and my aging hip was killing me. But I think two years is a totally decent life span for a $20 air mattress. I would buy these again to replace the old ones, probably right before the relatives swing by for another weekend.

When I moved out of state to start a new job, I wanted a temporary sleeping solution. I opted for an air mattress, initially a queen sized double high mattress. I've found these air mattresses to be the most comfortable bed I've used.I've gone through a good dozen or so air mattresses in the last few years, and used a variety of brands. Intex is definitely the best, I weigh 300+ lbs. and will consistently get 6-9 months out of an Intex airbed, compared with 2 months tops with the next best brand, coleman. Intex beds are simply better designed, the vertical cushion design has fewer weld points, and thus fewer places where holes can develop. If you want comfort and longevity in an airbed,my advice is to go for as modest an air mattress as possible. The smaller the mattress, the less stress you'll put on it. Single high twin is perfect for me. A double high is unnecessary, unless you have mobility issues needed to be higher off the ground, otherwise a double high just means more welds, more surface area, and shorter longevity. My only reservation is the flocked surface, it's supposed to be a luxury or something, but it makes it harder to adjust your position, and the slicker surface of a plastic surface would mean less friction, less stress, and a longer lasting mattress. Alas, it doesn't seem that Intex is making these anymore, I blame the ignorance of consumers falling for the marketing ploy of luxury, and I blame the manufacturers for manipulating the consumers and offering lower quality products. Shaaaaame, shaaaaaaaaame.Darn it, those single level all plastic twin beds were perfect, and a lot cheaper too, bring 'em back.

I bought this air mattress after researching for a week. I was having a guest come and needed a place for them to sleep besides the couch/floor. I had a bed frame with a box spring but needed a mattress quickly. Financially, I wasn't prepared to spend $300 + for a mattress so I decided to substitute for the time being. It arrived on time and I was eager to get it blown up and put in place so that I could let it air-out seeing that some reviews stated it had a strong plastic odor. This is true and the smell does not go away soon. I have had it for a month and it is just now leaving.I had it set up for a few days before anyone actually slept on it to let it "stretch". The quest said that it slept fine (man of many words)and I was curious to try it out myself. I have to say, it is a great deal for only $20. It was very comfortable for just myself (of course I have it covered with sheets, a duvet cover, a quilt, and many pillows as if it were a "normal" mattress) and I slept wonderfully. I find myself lying on the air mattress to take an afternoon nap or to read a book. When my husband is out of town, I sleep on that air mattress instead of in our bedroom.I have noticed that it is getting a LITTLE low on air, which I think is normal for an air mattress that is still stretching.I have enjoyed having a place for guests to sleep and would recommend this to anyone who is in the same situation as I was.The only con I have it that it is not a coil-type air mattress, which is what I preferred. Still sleeps wonderful though.

I've used this mattress for 7 years now (which is like 70 human years) and it's still trucking! My wife was inflating this mattress over sharp rocks and twigs a few weeks ago and I realized that this bad boy was probably one of my best Amazon purchases. I'm a self professed gear head and have spent significantly more on different sleep systems- thermarest, alps, big agnes, intex, klymit- and yes, I can beat this thing out of the water with a $200 top of the line camping mattress. But this thing's $30! Sometimes you can find it for $20! I primarily use this mattress for camping and outdoor adventures where weight is not a concern and electricity is limited. For the price this mattress is amazing.Pros: it's $30 and I don't see it quitting anytime soon, inflation does not require electricity, very comfortable if you enjoy a firm mattress. Small form factor.Cons: It's barebones- no insulation, no integrated pillow, manual pump. but this is easily remedied with a pillow and sleeping bag laid down on top of the mattress. Once debris gets into the foot pump it's in there forever. Small price to pay for a bomb proof mattress. Conclusion: If you have $200 to spend on a state of the art sleeping pad then by all means, move on. However, If you are a value oriented car camper looking for solid comfort and durability, dollar for dollar this mattress can't be beat.

I bought this as an experiment-to see if an air mattress helped me sleep better, before spending $thousands on an airbed. I also bought a 1" memory foam pad and a 1" eggcrate pad and put both of them on top of this mattress. My 2 dogs and I have been sleeping on it every night since I got it, almost 300 lbs of weight. I've had it about 2 months and have only added air one time. I put the flocked side on the box springs so it doesn't slip around. The sheets don't fit as tightly as on a regular mattress, but they aren't loose. I highly recommend the Intex line of air mattresses, and, I'm not rushing out to buy that expensive airbed! One plus year later- still sleeping on this mattress and loving it.I may have added air one or two more times since the first review. I used to have hip pain when sleeping on a regular mattress, but do not have it on this mattress.6/9/17- 1 year and 8 months since purchase, sleeping on it every night, I went to go to bed last night and one side of the bed was bulging. I've read the newest reviews and am hesitant to buy another one as it sounds like the company has poor quality control, (some last, like mine, and some blow out soon after purchase) and the price has increased $7 since I bought mine.

I purchased this bed because I'm spending a few days at my son's house and his futon gives me a back ache that leaves me wanting to go home the day after I arrive. So, I thought for the price...why not? Wow, am I ever glad I spent $20+ including shipping for this air mattress. We read the instructions inflated the mattress and I have been sleeping on it for 3 nights now and no back ache. I read other reviews about how you wake up because the mattress goes flat... The quality is so poor and so on. Look read instructions, some people go about life thinking they know everything and this is not rocket science, but you cannot over inflate because it will rip at the seams, and it says that you can expect a some loss of air the first night because the mattress stretches the first time is inflated. My experience has been terrific, we placed the mattress on top of the futon so it has the hight of a regular bed. The first night the mattress lost a tiny bit of air that was actually the perfect amount because the bed is very comfortable. For those that say the product only lasted 2 after using quite bit I say you've had a great return on your investment. You cannot go wrong for the price. When this one wears out I will buy again.

This is the best airbed I have ever bought. EVER.I have been through 20 various ones from large retail stores on the highstreet. All have gone down significantly or completely after only a few uses. Always taking them back, or binning them as I couldn't be bothered. This airbed I have been using at my parents house for when I visit, usually once or twice a month. I look forward to seeing my family, and have a serious back issue. Any type of uncomfortable bed, and it causes me serious (medicated) pain, so I tend to avoid those places. I see my family still regularly, knowing I have somewhere comfy and non-impacting to sleep. Convenient and extremely well built.I have bought this for someone I knew just to prove that it was as good as I said.(I'd get the money if it was good, lose it if I were wrong). I'm quids in so far.Air does naturally deflate a little in these types of beds, as the air gets heat from natural movement of outside to inside. Allow for this, and make sure after you have blown it up, go back an hour later for a little top up. You can then sleep on it for days without re-inflating.Enjoy!

This bed is too good to bother returning, but would not be my first choice for the next air bed purchase.I own a Coleman queen air bed (probably 8-9 years old), and I use it for comparison in many of my comments.Pros:* Full sheets fit perfectly (unlike my Coleman queen).* The air valve doesn't appear to leak at all.* Construction seems durable.* The flocking really does help keep sheets in place.* I like that this Intex doesn't have a built-in pillow.Cons:* The tubes aren't nearly as comfortable as coil air mattresses. This is a significant negative.* No patch included (my Coleman came with one).* Overall quality may be a tad below Coleman, or at least the model I own.If you're considering any air bed for home use,it really pays to have a decent way to inflate the thing. Hand pumps, even big ones, are a joke. I finally figured out that my 5HP wet/dry vacuum was the answer--the bed goes up in 30 seconds, maybe less. Then to empty it, I switch the vacuum hose from exhaust to suck and the bed is down in under 30 seconds. Hey, I'm throwin' you a bone here ;-)

i used this air bed the past two nights outside in my tent. it took some vigorous pumping with an intex high volume pump to get it to my desired firmness. over night was fine, the next mirning it felt a little less firm and I suspected a slow leak, but came to the conclusion that the material had experienced some give, like it had stretched a little bit, the second night I didnt inflate it any more, it seemed to have reached a lesser firmness and then stayed that way the second night so I ruled out any leak. it accepts a full size fitted sheet nicely and I used an open sleeping bag for a cover. I was able to sleep fine both nights. it came a piece of adhesive patch that isnt very impressive but perhaps will work fine on any smooth part, may not work as well on the soft textured top, time will tell. a single boston valve on one end with a push in outer plug as opposed to the threaded outer cap on my intex seahawk II, stayed in place both nights. im giving four stars because I would prefer it came with a.stuff sack. other than that its a nice air bed at a low price.

I chose the Full size mattress, as it is the closest size for the double berth in the main saloon on my sailboat. This mattress is a snug fit, but works well. It increases the comfort of the berth considerably! In fact, we do not use the foam filled cushions that make up the setee, but take the foam cushions off at night and place this directly on the fiberglass and plywood platform. In the morning, we deflate the mattress, and put the foam cushions back.I use a 12V pump to inflate this mattress, and my inflatable dinghy. You do not want to be blowing this up by mouth...I have a few nits, that are only valid because of the use on a boat: I wish that the inflation were on the side, rather than the top-center of the mattress. I also wish that it were slightly smaller because of the confines of the boat. For people on land, these would not be issues.Others had pointed out that the mattress stretches after a few uses, and I found this as well.No leaks after the first season of use (probably 10 uses this year).Overall I am very happy.

I bought this for a camping trip I was taking. It rained the entire time we were there. Yeah. It rained so much my tent starting leaking a little near the bottom. Fun, fun, fun. This mattress was not only very comfortable and easy to set up, it held up extremely well under the water and rough conditions. It is almost big enough to sleep two, if you don't mind getting cozy. I'm 6'3", 235lbs. It was big enough for me and a friend to sleep on, if we weren't too shy to get a little close. It is very sturdy, so far, and I'm pretty rough on my camping equiptment. It also folds to a relatively small, easily portable size. I LOVE it (MUCH better than sleeping on the ground, especially in those conditions)and will take it every time I go camping or hunting. The only con that I could find, and I think this would only bother you if you were planning on doing some serious hiking with it, is that due to it's sturdy fabrication it is fairly heavy when folded up. Other than that it is a fantastic mattress.

I just purchased my second full size, because, due to my own fault, one of the inner walls separated in my original purchase. I've read the reviews, and knew of the issue, but didn't realize that I was setting myself up for the failure. These are great mattresses, if you intend to sleep on them... or, well, "snuggle" on them. I use the mattress on top of a futon, as I've yet to find a futon that's made with the framing on the bottom instead of on the top of the futon. I'd gotten into the habit of sitting up in the mornings on the corner of the mattress while I checked email, etc.. Big mistake. I'm nearly 6 foot tall and weigh 260 pounds. All of that weight in one corner of the mattress,on a daily basis, eventually led to one of the inner walls failing.Learned my lesson. Keep your weight spread evenly across the mattress, and no kids playing trampoline on it. Can't wait for my new one to arrive in a couple of days. And I'll be buying another as a backup...

I purchased this air mattress to sleep on while I was camping outdoors at a festival for 5 nights. The mattress is made well and is very comfortable. It provided me and one other person with plenty of space to sleep comfortably. It holds air pretty well but it did require a tiny bit more air to be pumped in it before sleeping in it every night which was fine. This was expected and it is stated in the product description that this is normal and that it will lose a small amount of air for the first handful of nights that you use it because the material needs to stretch out. This wasn't enough air loss to cause any problems and it did not cause me to be concerned for any holes.Even though I wouldn't recommend using this as a long term air mattress,so far I haven't had any problems with it even after sleeping on it a couple of times after camping. I highly recommend it for temporary or occasional use.
