After a lot of pondering I decided to fork out for one of these for my Canon EOS 60Da to replace a cheaper budget brand UV/IR filter that I was using. I was reasonably happy with the budget filter's performance in correcting the additional IR sensitivity in the EOS 60Da on bright days or at long focal lengths but it left a noticeable blue/green cast to photos especially when used in shade or cloudy conditions and with wide angle lenses. Having used and been impressed with Hoya filters in the past I gave this a shot to see if there was any improvement. The first thing I noted was the build quality was far superior and placed next to the budget UV/IR on a white surface the Hoya filter is almostclear when viewed straight on and although it shows a very slight viewed from an angle it is not the strong turquoise of the budget brands. The filter passes the "TV remote test" where the EOS 60Da or an astro modified camera will see the IR LED on the remote brightly lit when active without the filter and not at all with it.In use the Hoya has a very slight turquoise vignette at the edge of the frame at 18mm using a kit 18-55mm lens which quickly vanishes as you zoom in unlike the budget brand which has a heavy green cast, visible even through the viewfinder at all ranged on the 18-55mm lens! The overall picture colour / white balance was using the Hoya was excellent and true to the conditions and gave a brighter picture overall, one reviewer says the Hoya looses about 1/2 f stop and I would concur. In summary the Hoya, even discounted is 3x the price of a budget filter but in terms of attenuating excess IR in an astro-modified camera and retaining daylight colour balance it's well worth the cost.

Purchased for use with my new Canon 70-200 F/2.8 IS MKII lens.Used for the first time last weekend and had some excellent results with both the lens and filter. The reason for the purchase of this item was that if I was using one of the best lenses of it's class, it then deserved the best available filter. I read some independent reports first, both user and professional and though the difference was not that huge between this and a lesser, cheaper product, I decided to try it out.The price paid was the lowest advertised anywhere.

The 4 stops one arrived today (pro nd16). So far, very good. I choosed this one over the Tiffen WW mainly because there is less color shift. I did some quick test with the bmpcc and the color is identical to my eyes that the same shot without the filter. Quality serms good. A slight magenta cast in the black tones but it is totally normal because the bmpcc sensor does not filter IR down to 4 stops filtration. I bought the hoya IR filter too, not received yet. Extremely happy with this filter till now

I do a lot of plant and flower photography and was getting frustrated by weird colour balance due to the fact that many plants reflect infra red light making, for example, blue flowers appear pink when photographed. Bluebells are a good example of this. This dual purpose filter helps with this, but doesn't eliminate it completely. It also helps to cut through haze in landscape photography as well due to the UV cut. Its not a magic cure all but it does help.

This review is for a Hoya 62mm UV and IR Cut Screw-in Filter. The filter looks and feels like the finest quality and the improvement over the usual 1B or UV filter is quite striking. On my Nikon D600 with a 28 to 105 Nikon zoom lens the improvement in colour saturation and absence of lens-flare was remarkable.I may buy additional filters for use with my other lenses.

Fitted the 82mm on Canons 24-70 f2.8 II for a BMCC 4k camera i once had and it solved the IR problems. Noticed a slightly similar issue with the Sony FS7. Not as bad but there in the blacks especially under tungsten light. I've now fitted the 77mm to Canon 16-35mm L f4. That magenta / pink hue is tamed as these are my two main run and gun lenses.

Got one for my RX 10 MK 3 thought it was a bit on the expensive side but thought that about the camera aswell but the old saying runs true once again you get what you pay for. This lense is absolute quality and does what it's supposed to do need i say more

Does what it says on the time. I use mine to turn a full-spectrum camera back to being a normal visible light camera, when used with an IR absorption filter (S8612). Thin enough to not vignette on my lenses and thick enough to do its job.

Bright, nice contrast to my photos. Replaces my regular UV filter successfully. A bit expensive, but quality costs. Probably I should ordered it on bigger size

Top quality but expensive. Service was excellent. Possibly paying for the name a bit but the results are proof. Low reflections

This was what I needed to block IR (heat) for the camera.A pitty that the package was damaged by the postman.

So far it's doing the job on the BMPCC with Sigma 18-35 f1.8 with Metabones Speed Booster. So far so good.
