I've given a five-star rating because, first and foremost, the optical quality seems to justify such a rating. Also, the slimline mount seems to be very well engineered: Just the right amount of friction to keep the filter at the chosen angle, but easily rotated as required, with a smooth, 'quality' feel to the movement. The slim mount is great for use with a wide-angle lens, or when using the polariser in conjunction with a second filter: Less likely to cause vignetting than a standard-thickness rotating holder.Only been using the filter for a few weeks (bought it to go with a new Nikon DSLR), but first impressions suggest quality and reliability. No surprises, really, as I've been a Hoya user for many years, but it's nice to see their quality being maintained, and available at such a reasonable price.

Good polarizer filters make a lot of difference and add an extra dimension to your photography. I use to use a lot with film cameras many years ago and wanted one for a mirrorless digital. I tried a cheaper alternative from a company I hadn't heard of before and the results were pointless. Hoya have been making filters for many years and I use to use them and I should of ordered one from them first time. Having it on my camera has made photography fun again and when shooting landscapes with big skys or coastal shots with ocean in the circular polarizer gives so much control and extra depth to my images. Highly recommend and would say always use 'proper'companies for anything going in front of your sensor.

I've had one of these before, but gave it back as payment for borrowing the lens it was fitted to. So this is my second version of this filter.Things to bear in mind: You get the strongest effect at 90 degrees to the sun (just physics). So if it looks like the effect is quite small it's probbaly due to the angle of view in relation to the sun (rather than the filter). The filter works very well, whilst I wouldn't use it as a permanent feature the filter never leaves my side. This (to me) is the most useful kind of filter you can use for digital photography, every other kind of filter can be done in post processing.

I have used this filter for over one hundred or so shots and it delivers good results as one would expect form this make. There is no evidence of vignetting at corners but this might be difficult for me to evaluate as it is being used only on a CANON 100-400 L series telephoto zoom: is it possible that vignetting is likely with shorter lens? I cannot comment on this as I have not tried it on any other lens.

As polarising filters do, this really brings out the detail in the sky. Losing a stop or too is compensated by image stabilisation these days so no problems there. A little more difficult to clip the lens cap on but that is because it is, as advertised, slim. Great price too.

Good quality with no discernible image degradation, turns well with no grittiness. Threads are nice front and rear, my filter holder screws into it well too. Cuts glare down very well on leaves, rocks and pools.Great price for a quality name, does the job.

As usual, this item arrived on time and well packaged. I bought this to fit my new Canon 18-135mm lens. So far, I have only tried it for taking a picture of our water lily tub on a sunny day and it did the job, enabling me to see beneath the water surface.

This is the second Hoya Polarizing Filter -last one different size they do exactly what they are made to do if used as should be your landscape photo's will come out brilliant- well packaged and arrived on time-slim design and fits perfectly.

Bought this to cut glare when taking photos across water but the most noticeable difference in the pictures is the colour enhancement. Clouds become more evident. We recommend to any serious amateur - professionals will already have one.

Very good Hoya Filter. Great for producing nice blue Sky, Sea or Landscape Pictures. It is advisable to limit the securement tightness and to rotate the filter in a clockwise direction to avoid unscrewing the item.

Bought this product to improve my colour landscape pictures. It's amazing the difference to colour and hue that polarising filters make and this one is no exception. For the price a great addition to my kit.

A Hoya CPL for £20- no complaints there. It deepens the blue in the sky and I noticed it makes brick buildings appear more saturated. Good at removing glare when up close. Not so good at distance.

Works perfectly. Costs more than the cheap ones. This is a quality piece of glass. To be honest why would you put a cheap filter in front of a lens you probably paid hundreds for!

I lost my previous kood filter so figured I'd go one futher and buy a better quality filter. I'm very impressed with it, so much so that I'll be buying the 67mm version very soon.
