Hoya 49 mm Filter Kit II Digital for LensWith a digital camcorder there are only two filters (possibly one) which may be considered as “essential”. For movie makers wishing to counteract the immense depth of focus of small camcorders we may add a third1) A circular polariser to remove reflections / enhance colours – particularly in tropical areas and when photographing items in water (e.g. fish) or through glass (as in museums – subject to you being allowed to film!)2) A UV filter for high altitude (mountains, flying) or some seaside views to cut out UV haze .On still camera they were often used to protect the lens from scratches in place of lens caps. This camcorder has its own “shutter cap” which closes when the camera powers down.3) A neutral density filter to force the use of wide apertures to reduce the depth of fieldThis Hoya kit combines a pack of all three for the price of a circular polariser. On test on a Panasonic HC X920 I noted the following:-The filters as received (in a nice travelling pack in optical paper sleeves) are of the thin variety and threading on the front (49mm as well) to “piggyback” filters. The combination of the thin filters and the part cut threading on the front of the camcorder mean you need to be careful putting them on – not to be a rushed job. With the polariser ( which works well) you can fit the camera’s ( small) lens hood back on the front – all without apparent cut off ( vignetting) even at wide angle.Similar results were obtained with UV and ND filters. So first impressions – 3 for the price of one – 5 star.(Will update after more serious use in India at the end of this year).(Note – for those who like to experiment with Cokin filters and have the 49mm mount, these also work but the above Hoya is the good basic workhorse kit for travel)

This kit comes with three filters (UV, circular-polariser, NDx8), you would never use UV filter, so to be honest, you are paying for two filters. However, both NDx8 and circ-pol filters are of very good quality. I did not observe any colour cast or artefacts on my images when I use them. Filters look of good quality and screw-on nicely on my Nikon D3300 standard kit lens and telephoto lens.Pros:> The NDx8 is really useful and works nice to bring silky-water effects> circ-pol works great and brings out rich blue sky with contrast clouds> UV filter is not actually needed but I use it as a lens cap for my lost Nikon-front-cap ;-)Cons:> The case is a turn off (see attached picture), I wish they had single, plastic case for each filter. The provided case is like a wallet and doesn't really protect them from dust. Who wants to buy a case separately? Grrrr> Just a trivial reminder, you can only use one filter at a time.Do you really need them?> yes, you can't do any landscape photography without these filters. Once you use them, you can clearly see they make images much more impressive. If you want just one filter at a time, circular filters are good.> but... the problem with these screw-on circular filters is that you can put on only one filter at a time in front of your lens, you can't use them in combinations. If you can spend slightly more, go for square/rectangular filters (Cokin P series, to start with, they produce decent results and are not very pricey), square filters slide into a rectangular filter holder (up to 3 can be used together).Overall, very good filters at this price range. Good for beginner photographers to understand the concept/usage of filters.Tip: Just remember to buy according to the size of your lens front diameter.

Recently bought a 50mm 1.8 lens, for portraits and video work, however, i wanted to use this lens wide open for video, so i decided to buy some filters, obviously a ND filter. I saw this little set and thought, why not? A polariser is always handy, though the UV filter got tossed in the bin, i never liked sticking them in front of my lenses, there is no need to have a UV filter on a digital camera. They all perform well, the polariser turns smoothly, no issues there, though there is a very slight warm colour cast from the ND filter, nothing that cannot be fixed in post.I am so impressed i think ill buy a set for my fuji 35mm f2 lens now!

At a very good price you get an excellent combination of Ultraviolet; polarsing and Neutral Density filters which screw on securely to the front of any 67 mm sized camera lens. They double mount e.g. leave the UV filter on all the time for lens protection then one of the other filters screws onto the front of that. Come in a well padded pouch with individual mesh pockets within that for up to 4 filters. Will be protected when in a camera shoulder bag. I've put in the lightweight question above as no to reflect the high quality metal and glass in the lens filters.

Excellent quality filter for those photographers looking to add that blur motion to their shots. I have bought the Hoya 49mm Pro ND 1000 filter. It is just great for my Sony a7 camera and Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 lens. Hoya produces the best value for money ND filters. The ND 1000 is the darkest neutral density filter for 49 mm filter thread. It's ideal for long exposure shooting. Like in the case of creating light rays from car lamps during night. Or vanishing people and cars from photos during daylight by using 30 seconds long exposure.

Bought this set for my wife's Nikon D3200 lens in the 52mm size. Very good value for money at only £24.09 for the set of 3 filters. However, am now selling the Nikon in order to buy the new Canon 200D which has a 58mm filter size lens fitted. The price being asked on Amazon by a company called DigimediaUK is ridiculously high at £42.15 (checking other sites, exactly the same thing can be purchased for £28.95) so be aware of price differences for these filters - check out the other sizes being sold by Amazon, much better value!

Likes = You get x3 Filters that let's face it your probably going to be using & needing for roughly the price of x2 if you were buying them all separate so your saving about 15 quid maybe more.Hoya still make decent quality filters versus others in that price point. The Quality of these 3 Filters is no exception as all 3 seem made very well.Dislikes = None. All in you can't really go wrong buying this 3 pack of filters as it should save you money.Highly Recommended pack.

This set provides a more than adequate set of basic filters at a more than reasonable cost. I've not used all 3 yet, the UV is a permanent fitting to protect the lens and I used the polarising filter a few times to great effect. I'm not actually using the wallet as there is a location specifically for 2 filters on the case (also from Amazon) the Amazon Basics camera case ~ see separate review for that.Highly recommended as a great product at a great price.

Great set of 3 Hoya circular filters at a reasonable price. I much prefer the pouch to plastic filter cases which are fiddly to use. The main thing to be aware of is that you do not get the slim (thin rim) filters but the thicker ones. Therefore, when using at smaller focal lengths of 18-25mm, the thickness of the filter rim could lead to vignetting. However, this is a minor issue for all but the most discerning photographers.

There are filters and there are filters. It is not unusual to find the ones at the cheaper end of the market to be of poor quality. However, these are very good value. I originally ordered a single filter but the seller contacted me with this three filter and pouch offer.I am getting back into photography and dont want to spending a fortune, but these work very well and a great starting set.

Good stuff, meets expectations, the usual Hoya quality. The UV filter is very favourably tested vs other, some more expensive, brands on LensTip.com. The pouch is high quality, though for my uses a bit bulky. The filters themselves are in plastic sleeves in individual pockets of the pouch. Slimline hard cases might be easier to pack. Anyway, they are good value and quality, recommended.

The filters themselves are great - uv(c), pl- cir and nd8 - all are HMC versions and identical to the ones you would buy separately. The only letdown for me was the fabric case; it's very big making it impossible to keep in any but the largest camera bag. I'd prefer it if the filters came in the normal individual plastic boxes; instead they come in small plastic bags.

great product, bought specifically to use on holiday in the soith of france over the summer. juust make sure once youve used the filter ypu remove it. as they are aluminium the have a habit of expanding in the heat - the polaroid one was stuck on the lense the entire holiday but as the metal contracted back in the UK if became free and was able to remove it.

A great good quality kit. There are loads of very cheap filters available now, but it is insane that people will pay good hard earned money for a camera, then even more for lenses, then compromise their quality by placing cheap filters on the end - just to save a few quid!Hoya produce good quality filters at very reasonable prices

I ordered these items for my new camera with a 52mm filter thread, I have a few others of much larger diameter. The filters look good and are well made, I cannot say whether there are any colour casts as I haven't used yet but that doesn't really bother me as I post process mod of my pics anyway. These are a worthwhile buy
