My fiance and I have been using these hiplocks for months and, frankly, the convenience of wearing it as a (lightweight) belt instead of having to worry about wrapping a lock around parts of your body, bike or tossing it in a basket - or whatever - has been a godsend, a blessing. Not to mention, it's extremely well-made, very durable, and hip (no pun intended). HIGHLY recommend this for any sort of bike (cruiser or single-speed). They're not cheap, but... the convenience / cool factor is worth it in the long run. A must-buy for anyone looking for a bike chain/lock.P.S. If you live in an area with high bike theft, you will want to use this Hiplock in conjuction with a bike cable (to secure both front and back wheels to the frame).

Bought this a year ago and love it. Despite its weight I don't even feel it while I'm riding. Easy to get on and off, velcro section is long enough to adjust to whatever layers I'm wearing. I have also used it wrapped around rear rack when on cycling trip when I didn't want to be carrying it.Suggest periodically tightening the bolts that keep the cable sheath in place, I lost one of them on a recent ride. I haven't taken any stars off though because when I contacted Hiplok they posted me 2 new bolts so quickly that I had them before I needed the lock again a couple days later! So customer service was brilliant.

Great. Really like how its portable and wearable. The weight is not noticeable at all, especially on short rides to the grocery store. The protective fabric covering is also a nice touch as it protects the bike from being scratched by the metal chain. At first it took a little longer to get use to removing the lock from the belt to hook onto the chain ends (the lock only turns one way) but you get used to it after a while. The only con: chain is a bit too short - I can lock two bikes together only after very precise positioning.

The Hiplok lite is comfortable for cycling in and barely noticeable on the waist. I regularly cycle with no need for a backpack so it's really advantageous to be able to carry a lock without the burdensome increase in weight D locks have on the frame.I also have previously had problems with the flimsy plastic mechanism used to attach a D lock to the bike snapping, which is of no risk with the Hiplok. It's early days but my bike hasn't been stolen and I find this much more convenient than alternatives

The Hiplok lite is a fairly high rated security device for cycles, which, whilst cycling, is worn around the waist like a belt, secured by Velcro. simply take it off, put it around the bike and a railing or other immovable object, and lock it on. It also has a reflective strip. My only reservation is that it could benefit from being slightly longer, but the it would not be so wearable.it certainly saves lugging a chain and padlock around, and is rather better than a ‘ D ‘ lock.comes with three keys.

This is good if you prefer chain locks over U-locks, want something you can trust, but don't want to carry 20lb of heavy chain. It's very convenient to haul around. The only downsides are that it's kind of a pain to lock, and the key is kind of tricky to put in. It's a pain when you're locking it up in the dark or don't have a lot of slack in the chain. If I were to purchase again, I'd get a longer version and see if the v 2.0 had a better design for locking it up.

I have a 34 inch waist and a slightly larger stomach. The velcro barely closes. I would prefer to wear it slung over one shoulder and under the other but it's not quite long enough for that. The chain is long enough to do one wheel and the frame, and using the flexible nylon strap makes it easier to thread the chain through the gaps. The lock is a bit fiddly, but still fairly easy to operate.

This is a superb lock. I went back and forth with the original lock. As this is normally a second lock I went for lite and it certainly is. I’ve found myself a couple of times forgetting I had it around my waist. I also take it as a primary lock when on a weekend jaunt. I’ve not found any difficulties locking my front wheel or using it on my rear frame around standard metal bike stands.

this thing is great! I basically can't feel the weight when it's on my waist and its low enough profile that I never feel like its in my way while I'm riding. It isn't too long, but provides plenty of length to lock my frame and a wheel to a rack, or even two bikes If necessary. I'm not an expert on bike lock strength, but the chain and lock seem pretty heavy duty.

The castle is very solid and stable. I am a bit frightened at first because it is really massive and heavy, but when changing around the waist, the weight is completely lost, once I had even forgotten to put it off again. Visually very nice, very practical. The only blemish is the length, just reaching the bicycle frame with e.g. A lantern. But it works! TOP*****

Really great lock. I use this for my citizen foldable bike, and I live in NYC so I love the fact that i can wear it around my waist. Not super heavy, and offers great protection. I love the reflective touch, thats how I know I am seen. I also have a reflective helmet to be extra visible. All in all, awesome lock!

Very good lock. Very comfortable to wear and creamy in the application. Sometimes it is a bit fiddly to close the lock, especially when it is stretched spack around frame and rear wheel. But that's just a matter of seconds. Stylish it is definitely and liberates one of the question: Where to go with the castle?

We unfortunately had a bike stolen using an alternative brand sold secure rated lock. Bought this to secure the replacement bike and it's superb and you can't beat the convenience of wrapping it round your waist. My teenage son will happily carry this lock everywhere without complaint. Excellent product.

Even if it has a considerable inherent weight, it can be transported very comfortably on the hips until it is used again. I am very pleased with the handling. Nevertheless I would like the longer version, because I can not chain my bike everywhere and therefore carry an extra wire rope with me.

This is a really nice concept for a lock. It is very comfortable to wear, the Sold Secure Bronze is good enough for most insurers up to a bike value of £1,500 and more flexible than a standard u-lock. A tiny bit of a faff when coming to lock up, but probably no worse than all bike locks.
