Hama is not a brand usually associated with filters. I was unable to find another multi-coated filter of this fitting on-line at the time of ordering and chose this over an uncoated alternative. Unlike most other filters available from other sources, this is a German-made product and should therefore be of a very high standard.Claimed to have no fewer than 8 layers of coating, it has that unmistakeable sheen associated with coatings, in this instance a pale blue. I have the impression that the glass filter is a slightly loose fit within the mount as I can hear it move very slightly. It may be possible to adjust the fitting ring a little to tighten it, but only by 1/8 of a turn or less,

This was the only silver filter (they appear to be quite rare!) I could find to fit my camera and that wasn't ridiculously priced.Overall I found it gave very good value for the money and produced noticeably crisp, clearer pictures with no haziness. It also seemed to protect the lens from dirt, dust, scratches etc. extremely well so if worst comes to worst I only have to buy a new filter if any a damaged is occurred (though there are no marks on it so far) and won't have to fork out for a new camera!

This is a very well made, slim line, multi-coated filter which has not caused any flare or image degradation. Its worth paying the extra to buy a multi-coated filter if you can. Why pay hundreds of £ for a lens and then stick a £1.99 piece of glass on the front of it!

I bought this filter to protect my Sony DCR-SR37 lens as well as giving clearer images. Perfect! Not only does it do the job as required, but the silver finished casing blends perfectly with the camera body. Very satisfied with the purchase.

Coated, see through, round, I'm struggling to think of things to say. Most of us just want a good value method of protecting our lense, this is a good method, at a good price, nicely finished, smooth thread.

This filter fits easily and does exactly what I wanted (protects the lens and aids reducing glare) I have been using it for almost eight years now and have no complaints.
